Gaming Steve Episode 60 - 03.07.2007

GDC 2007I'm Not Dead Yet! Yes everyone, I am back and I figured that since I started doing the show at GDC 2005 it was appropriate to resume with the start of GDC 2007.

Today I recap the day's events and the pivotal Sony keynote and just like last year I am sharing the mic with a fellow blogger/podcaster Gamer Andy from Gamer Andy. Enjoy everyone!

Portable Games / Looks like I need a new DS
« on: February 14, 2007, 07:25:26 pm »
Yeah it started monday when I lost both my styluses one fell out the back of the DS I dont know when or where so thats gone and I can't find myback up one. I can't find an origional DS stylus all the ones in store are fo rthe lite and wont fit in the back of my DS. no problem for now just stay away from stylus heavy games and use thumb when needed still works fine sort of.

Today though this morning I found something that really means the DS is practically no good at all. The L button broke I was playing Mario Kart super circuit at 1st and went to fire a red shell nothing it was like that moment during indepence day when the missle jammed. Tried again nothing after hitting the button about 20 more times finally it worked. Hurray but every so often it would stuff up again shells I'm dragging behind me would be released with out me letting go and other button presses stopped working. I've tried other games and found similar problems with the L button going to hell and always at crucial moments.

So looks like I might start shopping around for a DS lite.

Console Games / Half life Wii
« on: December 09, 2006, 01:01:54 am »
I'm sure I saw something like this a long time ago I saw a video of someone doing a something similar but that was before the actual Wii was out and was with a home made controller or something. Anyway this is just something people with too much time on thier hands have done. Click here

Although personally I dont know why they couldn't include the nunchuck in what they did it would make movement alot easier if you ask me by using the analog stick instead of the D pad and you can map other functions to the D pad making your used buttons alot closer together.

TV / Good Game

Ok this if for the Australians Well actully its for everyone but I'll get to that in a second. If you have digital television be it via Foxtel subscription tv or what ever then Tuesday night on ABC2 at 8:30pm there is a video game based tv show which deals in Gaming news reviews and lots of cool segments. If you dont have access to Digital TV dont worry they vod-cast all the segments and post them on the ABC website. Personally I like the new machinia the have called the team.

The Website can be found here.

Site News / Server time

Was it just for me or did the serve time just change by about 12 hours forward? I Log in and posts i saw made this afternoon now say they were done yesterday. I think this place is falling apart we need a couple more rolls of duct tape.

Of course the up shot of this is now posts made by me this after noon say at for 4:30 were now made in the morning at 4:30 while I was a sleep.

I figured instead of destroying other topics discussing us being aussies and on the fourms lets make a new topic to do it.

Once upon a time I would sit looking at a forum doing nothing because all the yanks were asleep now i have my wn legion of Australians to waste the day with huzzah!

Season 2 of this Australian show just started it's pure gold it's an Improve based show where the people (assorted Australian comidians and actors) are thrown into a situation they have no idea about and have to bluff there way through. It's real funny got some youtube links of a couple of the skits there plenty more on the site to look at though.

Has anyone heard about this?

It's a sad day indeed and worst of all there will be fall out and we know what the scape goat is going to be.

Movies / Kenny
« on: September 11, 2006, 04:22:31 am »
For those outside of Australia Kenny is  mock-umentury about a guy who is a plumber... for a Porta-loo company who supply the Lav's for musical festivals, airshows etc. It's really good got great reviews and has been getting really good word of mouth. If your in Australia and you haven't seen it do so now. Despite it being filled with poo jokes they seem to remain in good taste and pretty much all the jokes hit the mark. If you are outside Australia pray this movie comes over to you.

An Australian film that doesn't suck.

Everything Else / I made the paper
« on: September 08, 2006, 05:06:28 am »

Forum Games / There's never been a better time to...
« on: September 05, 2006, 08:33:38 pm »
Listening to the radio I have noticed a very common trend is for commercials to just start saying Theres never been a better time to (insert product here) ie: There's never been a better time to organise your will. There's never been a better time to re carpetyour house.

But really if you put that phrase in front of anything it sounds reasonable. So lets have fun.

There's never been a better time to Dishoner a check to a needy cause.
There's never been a better time to teach your dog to evacuate it's self every time it hears Brian Adam's Summer of 69.
There's never been a better time to crash into the back of a police car and stagger from the wreckage proclaiming "Me so horny!"

I think you all get the idea.

Everything Else / The latest reason why my computer sucks
« on: July 31, 2006, 10:52:16 pm »
Ok for the past few days when I get on my compter at my house i try on open Firefox and when I do it tries to connect to the internet which is strange seeing I'm already connected at the time the fact I'm already signed on to trillian and/or MSN messenger at the time is evidence of this. So anyway the connection attempt fails and I am unable to use Firefox to search the web I have to resort to damned IE.

I was wondering if anyone here would know whats going on with my computer and how I can fix this?

Music / Hot clips
« on: July 22, 2006, 09:02:33 pm »
I was wondering what you considar to be the hottest/sexiest music clips around well actully I'm just plugging the clip of an artist I like but I figured I'd at least make it a topic of discussion instead of blatent spam. Keep in mind that as this is a rather hot clip and isn't exactly safe for work. I'd try and find the clip that will be released to TV and such to post here but that hasn't been shown anywhere. You will have to scroll down to see the clip as well.
