Storytelling and Roleplaying / Re: Movies Game! Look

Haha, nice movies so far, I'll be watching this thread.

By the way, here's my movie I made a couple of months ago when I had this game.

Stuck: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oD2KAWPuyC8

Wow, you guys are dicks ^

Although he is is the wrong thread to be discussing this, that doesn't mean you guys can say:
"Oh **** off, you don't know what you're talking about, go away."

He has different views, and by the way you guys are acting, you're just making yourselves look like complete asshats.

I, myself, enjoyed the game when I had it.  The AI wasn't the best and I have to agree with the guy that it took out the immersion at sometimes.
"HAY GUYS! Come check this out! I just killed off half the village and this orc keeps talking about some crazy elf!"

I can't really expect to have a complete fleshed out conversation with an NPC, but I understand what Dorian is saying. (I think) Instead of having the options of:  Hello! - Got any Quests? - Good day!  It would be nice to have something like:  Ah, hello ma'am! -  Dirty wench, I wants to talk to ya's - Please, m'lady, give me directions? -  Where the hell is the pub at?

Now back to the topic:

Later on in the main storyline, you have to retrieve a pair of gauntlets to pass through through to the next part of the quest.  I for the life of me, could not figure out what to do.  After killing off the next area full of those who have the gauntlets I still couldn't pass  and continue on with the quest.  So I leave and do some exploring and whilist examining my inventory I see the gauntlets...  "D'oh!" I say to myself as I equip them and am able to continue with the quest.

True that Einstein has said that nothing can move faster than the speed of light, and I would have to agree, something about those space particles making little holes in our ships....

And although he is the leading authority.  You never know, space is a weird place... ;)

My favorite theories have to be distorting space, such as: Warp drives.

Litterally stretching and pulling and contracting space to allow you to move through vast amounts of space while not going FTL.

You would be crossing lightyears and lightyears in a fraction of a second, but you aren't moving that fast, you are merely moving through space... And we aren't looking at speed here, are we?  Just the amount of space we can move through in a certain amount of time...

Time to perfect my teleporting machine...

(Oh and, the one thing in the sci-fi movies that we ALSO couldn't replicate as of technology now... Shields)

Evolution is just RANDOM.

Yet, the way we developed isn't THAT random.  Its all about the environment and needs.

Our Prehistoric counterparts, lets say they are a small ape like animal with one claw on each of its four appendages.

This goes on, many die due to bigger and badder predators, then out of no where, one mutates an extra finger, and its not just a coincidence that this new line of the species continues as the main line of the species.  Come back in a billion years and see how we evolved.

--

The ONLY thing that is holding us back from exploring the stars is a power source and the propultion system to move us close or faster than FTL travel.

Look at all the Sci-Fi movies, what in that couldn't we build?  We could build the ship, the sensors, the electronics, the warning systems, we have everything in there.  Except for the engines, etc.  Crazy huh?  Just wait until some crazy haired scientist comes up with a fast enough engine.  I'll see you out in the stars.

If someone makes a new and fast enough propultion system, we would see people walking on Europa in our lifetimes. Maybe even farther..  I gaurantee it.

Could it also be height other than just mass?

A really fat and tall creature would be easy to spot.

A really fat and short creature would be harder to spot.

Eh eh?

Yeah...

Very awesome video, gives a bunch of information.

We get to see the database, through a kind of reference card kind of way.

The new comlink system that we haven't seen before:  "You have attacked us, blah blah blah"  - "Help we are under attack!"

Shaping up to be a great(er) game!

my only beef with the ufo stage is we might not be able to go to the evo or tribal stages anymore..i dont just wanna make creatures i wanna control them

I'm pretty sure you will be able to go back into the Tribal stage, or any stage below UFO for that matter.

In the E3 video, don't they show you going from UFO to creature back to UFO?

I don 't htink I've talked to a single person who hasn't played Earthbound and loved it.

I'd have to agree with you.  Especially on forums and what not, those who are old enough, or those who like older games, I have never really heard anyone not liking Earthbound.

Great game, I still have never finished it...  Mother 3 looks awesome.

I have only really liked Force Feedback on flying games.  It gives you nice resistance and makes it a helluva lot funner and easier to fly.**

Lol, very awesome.

But still, sorry to say, but for me, going through to the UFO stage didn't attract me to the game.

It was the editor and adapting your creature to the world.

The trailer looked very cool, but I don't really like it 'representing' what Spore is.

Haha, I feel bad for Gamingsteve, he's gonna have a heck of a time trying to out do all of this new video we have gotten.  But I'm sure he'll come through in the end. ;)

I don't want to sound negative, but the procedural animator was kind of lame. The creature didn't even swing its arms when it walked, and Hubert shouldn't have been able to stand still, with legs like that.

But the creature editor? Holy crap, it was awesome.

Thats because it was Kevin's very first time playing with the editor.  It was basically one joint at the very top, near the body and long, long bones down to the hands.
