You will see after a few days it just gets repetitive...

Sim was more entertaining and original for me. It is a nice little game.

Well another expansion I won't buy... Oh wait it is the only one yet!

Can I smell Shell holder? Space waster? Waste of paper and plastic?

My collector edition is already being use as my coffee mug rest anyway...

I have learned I do not look at game announcement ever... just Fallout 3 and maybe Dawn of War 2 and...

:P

6/10

- Interesting  :)
- varied stages yet limited within those varied stages
- Graphically good but not a record breaker :|
- Annoying interfaces (especially space age) >:(
- Carpel Syndrome Intensive!!!  >:(

- Artistic re playability (good even if it is not my thing)
- Empire Macro management
- Unbalanced
.Creatures can have bigger party then you
.Space Empire have many ships and different classes.
- VERY VERY Grind intensive (spices yeah... right)  >:(
- Repetitive
. Attack or Allie from stage 2 to 4
. Warp warp warp, zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom... Eco disaster, raid...

I find the games really as potential but just does not deliver for me. All the different stages of the game have been done already (individually) but all of them fail to deliver the content all other games where able to insert since they focused on that  specific part of the game.

To me the part that needs the most improvement is the Space stage. It as very big potential but the interface is just not that good to help you do it at the challenge level it is. Simple modification have already been listed in different threads/web sites but here a few good ones.
- remote diplomacy (you have made contact already can you just phone them up?)
- Planetary defence (read there may be more but a big variety could be good)
- menu showing inter species relation (i.e. Diplomacy relation)
- market tab? Showing buyers seller prices?

By doing simple yet very useful modification, they could keep the game as is and we could then have the tools to win!

The other stages just need depth added to them.
- Fire discovery
- Tool discovery
- some for of research to be added not just unlocking after X town...

OH YES!!! WE NEED TO HAVE A CHECK BOX WITH "Do not Show this dialog again!!!" FOR EVERY DIALOG!!!!

There is no pleasing us all!

But as i said you don't have to do it anyway... Just explore and trade and don't care about colonies and war and such.

I personally found the game too easy or lacking depth, I played the entire thing on medium and just went strait to space within 6 hours of play or so.

As Maxis says Warrior path is just that easy.

The only part I saw that could be hard is if you decide to make a vegetarian that is a anti violence and just wants to buy ppl off.

Now Space is big and repetitive but all in all easy since there is very little consequence to your actions. you can always get a free ship, from my understanding there is no good old "Game Over".

Your planet will keep re spawning and if surrounded by a bunch of enemy nothing prevents you from going AWOL and just starting a colony far far away in a different part of the galaxy...  from what i see/understand, yes you get annoying messages about being under attack but then again just don't look at them. The trader class is made for that IMO. You can search the galaxy and trade while keeping your lawn completely unsupervised.

IMO the worst aspect of the game is the repetitive factor. After a while there is going to be nothing new to it.

A creature is a creature whatever look you give it. Yes my niece will probably create a bunch every time she comes by but all "computer gamers" will eventually get tired of "painting" and just look for a new challenge.
