PC Games / Re: "DarkSpore"

Unless you have different "creatures" that you can call out one at a time during a battle, I don't see how this is in any way related to pokemon.
This might help to explain it:

Spore: General / Sporedum Editorial: Spore GA, success or failure?
« on: September 02, 2009, 11:28:26 pm »
I have always thought that critical thinking was missing in large from the Spore community. I therefore am now going to post regularly over at Sporedum about controversial issues in the Spore community. Every few weeks i will be posting a Sporedum Editorial, discussing the latest events of the Spore world in-depth. I do hope you enjoy and comments is most appreciated! We are looking for people who wish to write about events in the spore community so if you are interested please comment below or over at sporedum.

Editorial: Spore Galactic Adventures, success or failure?

Quote
It has now been 2 months since the release of the popular first expansion to spore, Galactic Adventures, and in this time, plenty has been said on its merits, and where it failed. Spore Galactic Adventures was built to revive the dream that was partially lost in Spore, by not only enhancing the space stage through the addition of adventures, but allowing players to create their own missions for thousands of others to play.

The lead up to Spore Galactic Adventures was rather large for an expansion, with Maxis teaming up with Robot Chicken to create some exclusive adventures which have become very popular. Another key factor in the run up to the release was the Adventure Camp, which helped, along with the Robot Chicken adventures, to hype Galactic Adventures up to being a game making engine, one which could rejuvenate Spore, and give it the much needed kick it needed.

Spore Franchise Leaps Onto Nintendo Platforms This October
Get ready for heroic battles, vibrant worlds and boundless creativity! Maxis™, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) studio, today announced that Spore™ Hero and Spore™ Hero Arena will be available at North American retailers on Oct. 6 2009 and internationally on Oct. 9, 2009. Built from the ground up exclusively for the Wii™ and Nintendo DS™ platforms, Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena introduce a new level of action-packed adventure and combat to the critically acclaimed Spore franchise.

"Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena give Spore and Nintendo fans a new, dynamic and engaging way to interact with their customized creature heroes,” said Lucy Bradshaw, VP and General Manager at Maxis. "Players’ heroes take center stage as both games, distinctly tailor-made for its Nintendo platform, infuse creativity, combat and adventure to create a unique gameplay experience on the Wii and Nintendo DS.”

Spore Hero delivers the unparalleled creative freedom of Spore in an action-adventure game created exclusively for the Wii. Set in a rich and vibrant 3D world, Spore Hero empowers the player to become the hero as they embark on an epic quest to save their creature’s home planet from destruction. Along this journey, players engage in fun battles, and solve puzzles to collect and unlock more than 250 new creature parts, all with unique abilities. Players can also utilize their brawling skills in a dynamic multiplayer mode, where they battle their friends with their own customized creature to become the ‘baddest’ Spore hero around!

Spore Hero Arena catapults players into a galaxy filled with fun and intense arena-based combat. Featuring an all-new story set in the same universe as Spore Hero, Spore Hero Arena takes players on a quest to save planets in their galaxy from an evil force. Throughout the game, players create their own unique gladiator hero creature and guide it from planet to planet as they fight enemy creatures, collect new parts, gain upgrades and unlock special abilities that will benefit their hero. Developed with multiplayer capabilities in mind, Spore Hero Arena also allows players to battle with up to three friends locally or play with a friend over Wi-Fi, taking the Spore gameplay experience to an entirely new and interactive level.

Can i use Better Spore 1.5.1 with the new Patch 1.04?

No mods work with the new patch, so it won't do anything anyway, and no one has tried it with GA yet (which requires a different place to install mods, as can be found over at the how to install mods page at sporedum).

I'm going on a 2 week trip to PNG this saturday, after that i should be able to get a GA version of BS with the new 1.6 elements out.

You guys truly are the best! ;D :) Kudos to you guys for being featured in magazines and even contacted directly by Maxis on your modding ventures. :)

Hope you have a smooth ride adapting it to GA. Maybe Maxis can help you guys a bit with sorting some things out. :)

They probably don't need to help us to much with that, but they have been very quick in giving assistance when asked, they definitely like what the modding community has done ;D

It is been 3 months since the stunning release of BetterSpore 1.5. Since the 14th of March, there has been over 10,000 downloads from our official server, and up to 20,000 from across the internet, making BetterSpore the most popular mod for Spore. It has been featured in magazines, and we even had Maxis talking to us about how we balanced the gameplay (I can't really say to much more about that though :) )

Check out Sporedum for information about the Parts pack and what is to come in BetterSpore 1.6!

Sporedum: Uber Creation Contest Post

Spore Programs: Uber Creation Contest Post

Well we have finally come to the crunch time in the competition. The Judges have selected their top 10 in each category and now it is time for you to vote for the most Uber Creation of all!

Now that the Poll cheating bug has been fixed on the official forum (US), we felt that it would be best to host the voting on the official forums (US).

Over the next 12 days, we will post up 4 competitions, each running for 3 days on the 4 areas: Creature, Vehicles, Buildings and Spaceships. You will only be able to vote for each category during the 3 days, as we will change the sticky around to the new competition and the poll will end.

The creator of the creation which gets the most votes will receive a free copy of Galactic Adventures.

We are sorry if any creation did not make it, as there were some amazing creations which did not make the cut, thanks to everyone who entered!

VOTE NOW!

Thanks for the information. You are making a good job, specially with GA.

No problems :)

This Spore Hero seems... boring.

I sort of agree, and don't really have any intention of getting it.
