Even with a buggy version of the CC, I was able to create a creature I'm proud of even though it's not that original (Which is the beauty of Spore). Here's a video of it, the only thing I have left since I need to uninstall and reinstall it every so often.  :-[

Qualmoden: (By the way, if someone could explain to me how to embed videos, that would be great.)

Do you guys think this is what they meant when they said you find something special at the center of th galaxy? I don't. They said you would find it during the quest in Spore, not as an easter egg by spinning the galaxy really fast.

All i am saying is I am ok with it and know if I don't like say a million "humanoid dragons" in my universe i can just block them. In the same way you can block the "floatys". :D

If a creature looks like it has a "reason" to float (i.e. it's a brain {that's the only "reason" that's not a reason}, it has a gas bladder, it has large enough wings) I'll allow it to live in my galaxy.

Durring evolution you can yank off one part in one generation! That can;t happen in nature.

I thought that the "generations" were meant to represent evolutionary change, not parent and child, or else your parent would be your old creature and not one of the newer model.

Or the entire planet is one biome! Not even poles on the top and hot equator in  the middle. And don't even get me started on the distances of space. In short Spore breaks a lot rules of nature. And they know it. Floating is nothing compared to all the other rules they are breaking. I think its silly for some people to dwell on floating being not "realistic".

Water has a high specific heat capacity. For all we know, couldn't there me atmospheres out there that have that same quality? Though no difference between poles and the equator is pushing it, but do planets have to have poles? (Not a rhetorical question)

And don't even get me started on the distances of space.

Weren't those made smaller for gameplay purposes and technical reasons? Not letting someone make a floating creature doesn't interfere with programming. In fact, shouldn't it make it easier so they don't have to realistically animate a floating creature?

As I'm sure you all realized, I completely pull all of that out of my behind, but that is how strong my fear and hatred of floaties runs.

KEEP DEM GOSH DARN FLOATERS OFF MY PLANET! That being said, I'm not a big fan of floating. It doesn't seem possible for some body structures. And even if the atmosphere is a different pressure, how do you explain the other creatures on the planet that have wings and are smaller but on on the ground because they have legs. It might make sense physically and technically, but I don't think it does evolutionarily and biologically.

I'd recognize one of those anywhere...near a Naucean or any variety thereof.

While they seem to be animated like they're floating, they have at least one part on the ground. However, my supporting evidence is getting weaker by the second. I concede this point to all those pro-floaty.

MaxisJD is my first favorite, but MaxisMichael has my favorite individual creature and is a close second.

Several technicians were monitoring the video feed and communication systems when the Klameritus ship responded to their signals. They sent a message on the touch screen to the leader of this operation, a female from the Kinesnys band named Laol.

"We've got a return signal in the third quadrant, what is our course of action?" asked one of the technicians.

"Tell them our name, the name of our home, and our intent, but nothing more," commanded Laol.

"Yes, ma'am!" shouted the technicians in response.

One of the Otriccen technicians went about setting up the vocal recorder and transmitter, still a fairly recent advance, while another began speaking the message. //The message you have received comes from Huerguun, the home planet of the Otrics. We are looking for more intelligent life in the Beyond. What may we call you by?//

Are you still going to try to make the original Nauceans, even if they won't be your main focus?

I will make the old Naucean for sentimental reasons, but I am thinking of using the Nauzean as the race I actually play as. I am really liking them.

That's all we could ever really ask for. So are the Nauzean's a completely different species with their own history and culture, or a newer model of the Nauceans so that they can be easily created in Spore?

This may turn out to be a horrendous mistake, but I'm going to stick to my conviction that creatures cannot hover. We have never actually seen a creature hover in a recent video in which the creature has been saved. Until then, I will not believe.

After the first contact with life outside of Huerguun, Wirni, Iteak, and Byab continued mapping out the "terrain" of the Beyond, as they now referred to the void. They also reestablished contact with the representatives from the twelves bands at Kazir, the Otriccen capital city which was being used as the base for the mission into the Beyond. As it turned out, the triad on the expedition had acted in accordance to the wishes of the representatives of the bands. Meanwhile, the triad, originally symbolic, had now begun to serve more as a familial unit.

While this was all occurring in the Beyond, life on Huerguun was whipped up into a furor of excitement. The representatives had voted unanimously that now more than ever it was important for the bands to remain united. Every band was contributing what it had to offer to the new vigor bestowed upon the Otrics. For example, new monorails between the cities of the different bands were being constructed by the Mlub band while the Dyorb band was interpreting inter-band laws so they could apply to the Beyond. But most important of all, the Kinesnys band had developed a new technology to communicated with both the entire planet and anyone in the beyond looking at Huerguun: global laser shows. They worked by lighting up the atmosphere with lasers that interacted with the gases to turn them different colors. The first one was taking place now, a kaleidoscope of reds, browns, and purples swirling and blending around, visible to all. It was an attempt to signal any races who might have a scout in the area or a video receiver focused on Huerguun. Transmitteres were being monitored in case of a response.
