Console Games / Re: MASS EFFECT ~Bioware's Gift to Us~
« on: February 04, 2007, 04:46:19 pm »
everything bioware makes is gold

*Cough* Ending-to-KOTOR 2 *cough*

Excuse me, sorry about that  :P

But seriously, I know how rushed they where on that. I herd most of the stuff is on the disk, and someone is making the true ending to KOTOR 2

Anyway, I can't wait for mass effect

Obsidian developed Kotor 2, not BioWare. Obsidian also developed NWN2, and yes they seem to have some issues with the endings of there games.

More to the point, Mass Effect is looking great in story, visual, and game play departments. Im intrested in seeing how it works all together in the final product. But if BioWare's track record is any indication, I think were in store for a block buster game.

It looks rather intresting, but would have to wait for beta to start to really see how good it is.

« on: July 03, 2006, 10:15:27 pm »
I've played the english demo, and its very intresting. The game does have open play. You can kill stuff, escort stuff and kill stuff, spy on people, trade, and upgrade your ship.

Granted, the upgrade system is a bit.........odd, and the ship design does leave something to be desired. (Yellow and black?), though the green moving parts on the ship is cool.

The one thing I noticed is that if in the demo you upgrade the hull twice and get a turret slot, things kinda get too easy. The turrets auto attack, and even with one it can easly kill a pirate on its own. I could only guess what would happen if you open all the slots.

PC Games / BioWare developing MMO!

Posted on the 13th: http://www.bioware.com/bioware_info/press_releases/2006_03_15_Austin/

BioWare is already great at developing RPG's, it will be intresting to see them take it to the MMO circle.

No conformation if it is going to be on PC or next-gen console, but my guess is for the PC.

Everything Else / Re: Religion VS Evolution
« on: March 14, 2006, 09:44:18 pm »
Ok, I normaly try and stay out of stuff like this, but some of this I just couldent stand;

Over at the spore forum, there is a argument over religion vs evolution. Well its really off topic there so I thought id just make a topic to discuss about it here. Il start off with some statements

-Jesus was a JEW. I dont know a whole lot on this subject, but what I know (or think I know at least) is that Jesus was a jewish person who just wanted to improve on his religion, and somehow lots of jews thought that he was their messiah, then he got a large following and became a threat to both the roman empire and the jewish religion, so they crucified him, like they did so many people back then (using them as "street lights" too, sickening). After jesus died, the jews split apart to form christianity, and peter, the disciples and the other followers spread the religion around.

-Evolution does NOT say these things: how life came to be, why or how certian inaminate objects do things they do, how the earth was created, humans came from monkeys. Also, evolution does NOT have anything to do with the big bang. Evolution is merely a way to explain how life changed, will change and is changing.

-If god is so loving, why are people tortured, murdered and raped every day? Why is there so many diseases?  Why can we talk crap about him and not have anything bad happen to us? If he wants us all to be christian, why is there other religions around? If he is so powerful, why doesnt he just kill off the devil and destroy our ability to sin if he opposes it so much? And dont say cause adam and eve disobeyed his order not to eat the fruit, cause if thats why then god is a moron for holding a grudge so long and placing the fruit there to begin with.

There, that should be enough to start up some good arguments :D

Ok, yes Jesus was Jewish. And before I go an further, I am Jewish, I know a good deal about this. As a personal note, PLEASE do not just leave it at "Jew." It is a differential word, if your going to take the time, please use "Jewish." First off, as I said before, Jesus was Jewish. He was also a Rabbi. Second, there is a a division in Hebrew culture, where those who live in Israel considered them selves Hebrews, and every one else is just Jewish. Where as myself, a member of a reform Synagogue, believe that regardless of position and birth, is Jewish as we where dictated.

The reason this is important is that those who are "Hebrews" believe that Jesus was not the messiah and that Catholicism is, primarily, mistaken. Members of the reform community, at least how I was raised and how I was taught, that regardless of faith, everyone has a right to think how they please.

Third, the Jewish population DID NOT split from Catholicism. Catholicism split from Judaism. Moses lead the Egyptian slaves, who where Jewish, to Zion, also know as Israel. The fractioning of the faiths came when Jesus was crucified, by the Romans, because it was believed that he was going to lead an uprising. The Jewish population did not intervene because of what Jesus was speaking of. After his death, the faiths split on those how believed that Jesus was the messiah or not. This is where the spilt comes from.

On the point of evolution, yes information points that life came from bacteria in the oceans. But this "Also, evolution does NOT have anything to do with the big bang" is incorrect. According to information, when the big bang occurred, it created and reacted the base elements that created the universe. If the "big bang" did not happen, life would not have occurred, so far as we understand the far past.

And as the "G-D makes bad things happen to good people" stuff, I’m not going to go there. Life is life, you need to learn to deal with what it throws you.

Books / Re: Anyone else read Eldest?
« on: March 14, 2006, 09:16:07 pm »
I read it, and as sequels go, it was ok. I thought that it was streched out a bit thin in places, and some of the plot twists were rather obvious. I can say ive read some better books, but it was an intresting read, but there was really nothing in it that makes me want to read it a second time.

Spore: General / Re: Time to Sub-divide the Spore Forum!
« on: March 14, 2006, 09:09:05 pm »
Well, its an intresting question, heres my shot at topics:

Spore- General Chat

Spore-Creature Tech (i.e. Creature info, data on creatures, Creature building tips, etc.)

Spore-Help Area (F.A.Q., General info, System req./will my comp run spore, and stuff like that)

Hopefully that covers the areas required.

Well, ive got my pre-order down for the PC version (though I also have a 360) ;D

Went with the PC version for two reasons. One was that you cant get community mods on the 360, and you cant tweak the graphics and such on a 360 either.

Just have to find a way to get to the store to pick it up on the 21st.....somehow...

Watch the X05 Cam Gameplay on Game Trailers { http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=2044 } and you will see why this game looks so neat. I don't think the camra does the graphics justice. And while it looks like a Dynasty Warrior clone, with the pure hack and slalsh, it still looks absoloutly incredable.

Console Games / Xbox 360: Blue Dragon
« on: September 14, 2005, 08:12:44 pm »
Ok, theres not alot of info about this game, but Gamespot has posted a new "Impressions" about the game, and so far, it sounds great.

Granted we dont have screenies or movies, but if they can pull it off, Xbox uses will finaly get, as Gamesopt puts it, "Blue Dragon looks as though it'll nicely help fill the need for Japanese-style role playing on Microsoft's forthcoming console."

PC Games / Re: If you made an MMO, what would it be like?
« on: June 17, 2005, 10:38:21 pm »
For me, the only MMO ive enjoyed so far for more then 2 months (after beta) has been Planetside, COH, and Ragnaok Online (before and after free peroid)

I did realy enjoy Horizons:Empire of Istaria, for the chance to play dragons of course, but they totaly screwed up the way we could play them.

I was looking forward to Tabulsa Rasta before they changed it, now it just looks like a copy of Planetside.

The one game I am REALY looking foward to is Trials of Ascension (http://www.shadowpool.com/index.php), beacause you can play as a dragon, but unlike Horizons, it looks like they have done it right.

If I could make an MMORPG, I would try and incorperate only mythological creatures, and no humans. Humans have been used as a "basis" for almost all MMO's and I would like to see an MMO that takes the myths and ledgens from many cultures in one MMO.
