Dude that is one fantastic system! 8) 8) 8)

Do you know the coordinates? :) Please! ;D

The coordinates wouldn't matter... Other than a select few planets, the rest are all randomized.

Not only that, but the amount of planets is caused by a mod ;). smjjames has a point though, there's to many. I might change the value to prevent it from clustering together to much.

Spore: General / Re: Seen any cubed planets yet?

Look in the screenshots thread, I believe that someone posted a picture of one.

You mean the second picture in this one? That does look round to me, it has a curious spot though, I can't see it very clearly.  :-\

It indeed looks a bit round, but it does have a cube like appearance as if the planet hasn't formed yet completely. I haven't found any completely cube planets but we don't know for certain if they are in game for that matter,

Or improve the hologram?! PLEASE?!? :)
Especially that. It goes way too slow.

I was able to make the hologram run once, it went really fast. Havent been able to reproduce it though. :(

Spore: General / Re: NEW spore patch. Start up your game to get it.

Is it weird that the game actually runs SMOOTHER for me now? Like, to test, I went to a barren world and started spamming it with terraforming, which would usually result in a pretty decent framerate drop as the planet's surface began to change. It wasn't unplayable, or even unacceptable really, but the framerate sunk pretty low, and now I can bring that cold airless world into a hot, dangerous, storm-filled lava world without any lag whatsoever.

Creature texture loading in creature stage seems to be a bit slower now, but that might just be my imagination. Like, the creatures show up right away, but it seems to take a bit longer for their textures to pop in.

Nope, alot smoother for me now to, i can even put everything on high now. I have an SLI card though so maybe they fixed something for that.

Spore: General / Re: Can't Start EADM (and, thus, the patch)
« on: September 19, 2008, 04:54:36 am »
"Stuff" it! I got this piece of "stuff" to 'work' and it doesn't even realize I have Spore installed. So I click Help (hah, help?) and it opens IE, of all browsers, and takes me to a page that tells me I need to register my games on their site. So I go to the EA store page, and there is no button to log in. I go to Customer Support (hah) for some help, and right there, a button labeled My Account. I click it and guess what? Here I can log in, so I go and search around for the page to register my games. I find a little dropbox labeled Platform. I input PC. Then a dropbox labeled Title or whatever.

Spore isn't even "stuffing" listed.

Another victim of EADM, join the club.  :-[

I didn't install the EADM when I installed Spore.
Now I try to install it and it tells me it needs Windows XP or higher.
Spore itself installs and runs fine on Windows 2000, but I can't install the download manager?

Is there some other way of getting the patch?

The patch is 92.1 megabyte in .exe format, I'm sorry I cant upload it now. Unless someone else does it, ill do it tomorrow.

This patch made EADM finally recognize that I have installed Spore, now I hope my ingame sporepedia starts working correctly. If thats the case two thumbs up from me for this patch Maxis!

Ingame sporepedia/sporecast making/MysporePage still messed up. oh well... at least the patch installed without problems.
Going to start over to look what has changed. :)

wait.. what? what does it do?

An embassy increases relationships with an Empire slowly when you put it on one of their planets.

It is possible to place an embassy. You just need the required badges.

0x049a0517 Create Steam Pipes

Steam pipes is a shape on a planet, I have seen it once, and it looks cool. Guess they took out the way to make them, that or i haven't got the terraforming tools for it.

Dont know about the others, their probably a feature that doesnt get used by the player but is assigned to the NPC's

Sounds interesting, but it you can't save or upload asymmetrical stuff i don't see the point.

You can save.. or at least the original poster managed to get it to save. Look at the links under the movie.
I downloaded the mod again and it seems i can save now. oh well :P

I've tried it but it seem I cannot save my creations when this mod is enabled.

Spore: General / Re: Deep as a puddle or deep as the ocean?
« on: September 15, 2008, 01:03:36 pm »
Right now Spore has the breadth of an ocean, but is only deep as a puddle. That's not necessarily a BAD thing, it just makes me extremely anxious to see what is going to be done with the future of the game. It can only get better, and we're launching from a pretty solid and awesome game (in my opinion). Plus, modding makes just about everything possible. Well, almost everything.  ;D

Some do. In addition to the rogues i have seen normal creatures in packs travel around and i have actually been attacked by them and at times my nest raided. I have also seen packs of creature go out and forage fruit and drink water and attack other nests and creatures.

The problem is it does not happen frequently enough.

I think it's moddable though, ive seen it in 2 files now. And 1 is specifically for this.

Code: [Select]
#
# Casting Manager properties
#

property CastingManager_AnimalsAtMaxDensity              0x04ff9582 float 10
property CastingManager_AnimalStageMaxSlope              0x04ffccf5 float 30.0
property CastingManager_AnimalStageHerdDistances         0x05008313 vector2 (0, 0.85) # how far away from the stage center a herd can be (0.0 to 1.0)
property CastingManager_AnimalStageHerdTerritory         0x05008412 float 200.0
property CastingManager_AnimalStageHerdPositionTries     0x0500849f uint 5
property CastingManager_CityRadiusBuffer                 0x0508af89 float 75.0
# activatation/deactivation distance.  for stages, this is altitude.  for markers, this is pure distance.
property CastingManager_DistanceThresholds               0x0509beb7 vector2 (200.0, 300.0)
property CastingManager_MaxVisualizedTribes              0x0511f4a9 uint 4
property CastingManager_UpdateTime                       0x054ba6b0 float 1.0 # amount of time between animal herd updates for the POIs
property CastingManager_MaxAnimalPoolSize                0x05c8390d int 125
property CastingManager_MaxHerdsActivatedPerInterval     0x068dc104 int 3

Btw, does anyone know if these 0x068dc104 numbers or whatever can be changed to something readable?

I'd like to explore the rest of my planet, I'd like to travel all the way around my planet so I end up on the other side of my island. If they could remove that monster from eating you, I'm sure we'd be spending alot more time exploring as I like to do.

There's a mod i posted on the EA forums that does just that. World is kinda empty beyond your island though.

http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/1586.page

Someone posted on this forum that its possible to enlarge your planet while playing creature, i tried it but didn't really notice it, maybe I increased it by a to small number.

Your other suggestion seems like it would be stuff for an expension pack. We will just have to wait and see how Maxis goes from here.
