Anyway, for the people not knowing what to do:
Follow that first, after that, look up all you need at the following site:

That should be enough to get you going.

Sounds interesting. So... Who wants to start blowing stuff up? I kid, I'll be a detective.

Booms are a lot of fun though...

You guys should be ashamed of yourself, Space Station 13 has only been mentioned once on this forum! :o

What is Space Station 13?

Space Station 13, set in space in the future, on board a space station, where disasters continuously occur to the displeasure of the crew. The ability to knock down walls, build new ones, and almost completely reshape the station (with the exception of a few things), is very appealing to strategy/roleplay gamers, and especially appealing to online gamers; due to the game being online-only and round-based.
You could work as a medical doctor, Security Officer (To put those nasty griefers behind bars), Station Engineer, Janitor, Captain, Scientist (These guys can make everything, ranging from flamethrowers to bombs), Geneticist, Chaplain, Head of personel/research/security, Atmospheric technician (Yes people, atmosphere is important in this game and these guys must try to keep the air okay), Detective, A.I., and a LOT more.
Some say this is like Dwarf Fortress in space, because of all the possibilities you have (and the terrible graphics, but I don't think they're that bad)

What is the goal of this game?

There are multiple game modes and coders are adding more and more to the list, but the most used ones are:

-Extended (or RP-mode): In this mode, there is no goal, you just RP and have fun with the fellow crewmen or, more likely, work on keeping the station intact even though griefers are trying to blow the station up.

-Traitor: At the beginning of the round, one player becomes the traitor. The traitor has a goal (For example, kill the Chaplain and escape with the escape shuttle, reprogram the A.I. or whatever). The other players don't know who the traitor is, so it makes for some very interesting situations (It was you, who killed the chaplain!)

- Revolution: Basically like Traitor, only now, the traitor has a brainwash device that brainwashes players into helping him kill the targets.

What makes this game fun?

The coolest thing about this game is the kind of **** that happens every round. In one round, you might have a person secretly murdering people while the others try to figure out who it is. In other rounds, you have the ship blown apart because of bombs placed by a person. Next, you have the A.I. (The A.I. is a player as well) malfunctioning and going on a killing spree, forcing the crew to try and take down the A.I.
There's just so much happening, a round is never the same.
RPing is also enforced in this game, which is really interesting.

Well, that's it, I suck at writing these things. You really have to try it out yourself in order to know how great this game is.

No. Becuase if there was i would have that game. Unless of course it was either very obscure or badly done or both.

There's Savage 1 and 2, Empires 2 and Natural Selection (to a lesser extend). There are a couple of other rts's that allow you to take control of units, but those aren't fps's

Is it just me or is the axe waaaaay too strong? :-\
I mean, melee was already severely overpowered in L4D, 1 hit killing enemies doesn't help at all, lol

I don't know if these games allow too much control, but anyway:

Black&White 1, you teach your creature, instead of controlling him. Also, even though you can pick up and influence villagers, you don't exactly control them.
Dungeon Keeper, you can't really select your creatures and give them an order. If they are hungry, sleepy or whatever, they'll just ignore it and do what they like.
Creatures (1 or 2 for the pc), basically a simulator where you raise creatures and teach them and all kinds of different stuff. It's really elaborate and a huge learning curve, but the end result is satisfying :)

Uh, I might have read it wrong, but are you saying Steve should shut this forum down?
That's rubbish, I mean, I hardly visit this section of the forum anymore, but I DO however, visit this forum every single day. I like the community here and even though the forum might've been created for spore, doesn't mean it's useless now.
I'm probably going to slap myself in the face when I read this tomorrow, because of the horrible writing, but I hope I made it clear what I meant :P

Try going pre 1.0, the newer versionS all give problems for me, while about 3 years ago, I've used Hamachi without any problems at all.

Yep, that fort was great. We were lucky that Gauph logged on so he could kick that guy.
Things only became worse when the wave of players came...

If he did that, everyone would yell at him for advertising a game ^^
