« on: June 28, 2007, 02:56:21 pm »I kinda like the blue colour scheme. Perhaps these guys can come in all sort of different colours instead of a standard palette for the entire species?
As far as an opinion, I really dig this design. I probably would have picked a smaller size. 8 feet long seems like it's about twice as large as the picture implies. I'm assuming the front tentacles are what it uses as an analog for arms and hands. If that's the case, they seem a little too fin-like or short to be of much practical use.
well most of the body length comes from there tail which if you look at it is about the same size as the body and head
the inner tentecales are used mostly for eating while the outer tentecales are used for the rest of their actions(they have hands incase you didn't notice)

to answer jugs question right now they are more of a source of heat(they haven't discovered fire yet) for cooking food and to help the eggs to survive, they need very high temperatures to survive during this stage
when they do discover generators it works like geothermal power

this is a basic clan they live in huts made of mud and seaweed
the must important of them live at the top of the vent
the most important being the shaman who is believed to secure wins aghainst the other clans
the next up on the rung are the warriors and caregivers. The children and eggs are not usually cared for by there parents because the clans need as many warriors as they can get.
last is the gatherers who gather the food for the clan

during the tribal age they live in small clans and fight each other for volcanic vents which is theyre only source of power during these times.

lets see they way between 1 or 200 pounds theyre avg. length is 8 ft and theyre avg. height is 4ft they have a parrot like beak that is covered by there tentacles
they have frog like eggs in clutches of three to four theyre babies are born knowing how to swim but not walk, the gestation period is 3 months in womb and 2 months before egg hatches
theyre planet is 90% water made of oceans and shallows the rest is 2 continents and several small islands islands it has three moons

here is my creature it is anphibious it uses its powerful tail and legs swim quickly,you can't tell from this pic but its tail is shaped likie a paddle
its omnivorius and eats mostly crustatians
