You only really need to start worrying if you hear an air raid siren. Or see a hulking man with a pyramid for a head as he's an iconic series monster, despite the fact the monsters are supposed to represent a personal part of your psyche.

Well, I just finished reading Paradise Lost, which took me the better part of 3 months (mostly because I went on a working holiday for a month). So I wanted to pick up some light reading. But nowhere had the next Star Wars book I need to read, Dark Disciple.

So I picked up To Kill A Mockingbird, because I've never read it, and I'm almost done with it.

How hard is it to just say "god no, I appreciate the Age/2-7 rule like a normal human being".

Quitting my job at the end of the month. Might have to move back in with my parents in the new year, if not a new city if I can't find a job around here. My therapist says this is a good idea.

At the very least, people seem like they're going to miss me.

Discord is fairly active. It's not the same, but communities evolve. I'm enjoying the immediacy of the conversation there.

Meanwhile we had a freaky morning on Monday, where the Sun was a perfect red disk and it generally resembled an episode of Daredevil.

Is that suggesting that Winchester would be the capital of Wessex?

What Ink said. Only in this case it was completely ignoring me at a party she said she wasn't going to.

I am also back from a wild land where they don't speak English.

By that I mean I'm back from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Didn't do anything quite as fun as get married, but I did go on a date with someone else I was working with. It was great, until she ghosted me.

Woah, careful, you need to make sure the grain goes in the right direction, that a chair fits in the world (who makes chairs, what do people do with chairs, what would the real impact be) and be sure you can answer every convoluted question r/worldbuilding throws your way.

I kid. I like r/worldbuilding. It's no r/HFY.

So, what do people think of the 13th Doctor?

I, for one, love it.

What kind of sci-fi are you looking for?

It's a comedy/theatre festival, the biggest in the UK, that practically takes over the entire city for a month. I'm going to be taking tickets and generally being helpful for a venue, which is a collection of theatre spaces.

Boy Gauph I wish I had your courage.

I'm going to the Edinburgh Fringe! Granted it's front of house and I'm technically doing it voluntarily, but it gets rid of the massive anxiety of having a successful show and the huge expense of somewhere to stay.
