Thanks! For some reason I overlooked that little bar every time. Far handier then having to alt tab and search for the creation online!

They really should hav mentioned it in the tutorial and encourage people to comment.

Can you comment form inside the game? I seem to overlook the option. Also any thumbs up/down function?

Spore: General / Re: What language have you ordered

Dutch. But I hope I can choose language and change it into English because I hate games translated into Dutch.  :P

Sorry, Nederlanders...:P

I hear you! Feel the same about that. Also with most fansites being English it just unhandy to keep translating al the names. They even renamed all the parts and tools in the CC, guess the same will be true for the full version, very confusing imo! Still you could change the CC language so that is hopeful.

Anyway I went for the Galactic edition, I'm assuming that will be English only. Would hate to have a Dutch manual with my English game.

Congratulations!

Nice to see Australia have a first for sure!

Been hitting other's creatures as a I can, but I am sick so it's tough going. :(

Hope to get well soon! Or well enough to create with Spore at least ;)

I'm going to look at creatures and place some comments now. Good fun getting opinions on your creations!

I'm also interested in the music editor. In the nasa video ww told about every creature having a musical theme. I wonder if you can create that yourself:)

And then i'm thinking, if a user is encountering this creature : you'll suddenly hear the theme (kinda like in a zelda game). That'd be cool.

The system was demoed on GDC 08, but probably that was still in an early fase. Brian Eno is working with them on the system, so it will produce very decent music for sure!

Still nice to watch:

Thought there was a better quality one, but can't find it.

I like the new art direction and I think spore needs it to be able to reach as many people as possible.

That said I'm sure that a lot of the things that were dropped or cut (waterbaesd Civ, Flora editor ect) will be added through the untold numbers of "simlike" expansion packs.

Get your CC ready... no I don't mean your Creature Creator :D

I think its just being swamped atm. Do a search for Spore on Youtube and then only take a look at the number of todays entries... there are a "few" of them :)

That number it climbing fast each day atm :) Fun times!

You would be surprised how many gamer girls their are.

You know that super hot cheerleader you'll never date? Its very possible shes a gamer and just is not very vocal about it in public.

I have played with a ton of girls online in Halo 3, grand theft auto 4, the bad company demo, lost planet colonies and many more.

Its not a rare  anymore.

Gaming is maturing. We're still not there yet, but is going quicker and quicker. Look at what the DS and Wii did for gaming. Even my granny played with the Wii at 84. Now if that isn't finding a new market I don't know what is. :D

Soon people won't even look funny at you when you tell them you game for a hobby... Good times! :)

Might need to find a new underdog hobby soon! ;)

I WISH EA used Steam.
Except Valve own Steam.

So? Valve used EA to distribute Orange Box in the stores... EA would be wise to go to Valve for their digital distribution. Steam is SO far ahead of anything EA offers atm. Its not to late yet, if they want Spore to be a bigger success.

I think the fact that you create something in Spore and see it grow up helps to attact a lot of people to the game. I think people enjoy building up more often then breaking things apart. The Sims certainly prove that, although I never could get into that myself.

I like both at times, but enjoy games where I build something, like Civilization, Settlers, or an (MMO)RPG (building your character) the most.

Doh, why did i miss this. I'll be adding the gamingsteve tag. Sporepedia seems a bit overworked atm though. I've a hard time getting pages to load, let alone comment on them :(

Ah well at least a lot of people seem to be enjoying Spore!

I'll also start dropping by. Good idea this since there are simply to many creatures to watch them all and its more fun if you know the people who made them.

Spore: General / Re: 350 000 Creatures
« on: June 19, 2008, 09:32:52 am »
Actually its not that many if you think about it.

Even if you go for say two creatures per person (Which is I think on the low side) its "only" 200000 (around 400000 creatures atm) people.

That's nothing if you look at how big the Simcrowd is and how much buzz this game gets. We'll hit many millions soon!
