When I did my ND in multimedia, my Final Major Project was a kind of interactive storybook, based inside an artificial planet called "terristrial eden", the player's goal was to learn as much as possible about the planet and it's inhabitants (the back story being that the "four planets" had been overcome with industrialisation, and needed somewhere to ship there endangered species)

I had to design alot of creatures, and as you can imagine I was thinking how freaking cool it would be if there was a game that gave you that kind of freedom.

It turned out really great and I ended up being award a distinction grade.

Heat, your druze?

I heard it was forbidden for you guys to discuss the exact details of your religion.. not sure if that's true or not  :-\
Isn't like a kind of hybrid of Islam and christianity?

Theme park.

For the sega genesis/mega-drive.

As a kid, my parents flat out refused to pay the cash for a game. But rentals were allowed.
I ended up renting this game about 300 times :)

god I milked them. :D

Err, well I'm actually Muslim. And nowhere does it mention that god created man in his own image.
What is mentioned though is the form of god is  inconprehensible to a human being, it is beyond human understanding.
And how do you know how Jesus looked?

Since he was hebrew and was from the middle east, I severely doubt that he had blond hair and blue eyes. You may believe it was because he was the son of god or whatever... so does that mean god himself has blond hair and european features? if your a christian you need to be careful not to commit Idolotry without realising it.. unless your catholic or whatever.

I hope I don't sound mean at all, I just really appreciate learning other's views which will help me get a better worldy understanding of all the different people :).

Everything Else / Your first gaming experience!
« on: May 17, 2005, 05:43:45 pm »
Hey all,

Was just wondering about people's very first system or very first game they played. How old were you when you played it? Do you still play it today?

I am 18, but I was 6 or 7 when my dad brought home a shiny new amstrad CPC computer, complete with games! I can't remember which specific one it was (either 464, 664, or 6128) nor the specific titles of the games, Just that they were incredibly fun.

The next system I had when I was still 7, but I can remember it alot clearer. It was a ZX spectrum.. and my all time favorite game was "chucky egg" I would play and play and play. Also text/graphic based adventures were a whole lot of fun like the original LOTR games for it.. got a real immature kick out of typing in swear words I had learnt.

It's really weird to think that the games used to run off those little audio tapes! I really can't for the life of me understand how that works. Also games would take FOREVER to load, and you were treated with a strange screen full of coloured rectangles moving up and down followed by a total carcaphony of electronic screeches. I'd just sit infront of it eating my fishsticks afterschool, so patiently. ;D

You think the load times are bad now? back then they were maybe half an hour.

Great find steve! Thanks!

"I don't want players to feel like Luke Skywalker. I want them to feel like George Lucas."  great quote. Even though I hope I don't end up like that guy is now :D.
