You know I'm sure they were trying to make the one hand rise up but didn't know how to make the symmetry button work...

Did anybody else notice the numbers in the lower left hand corner when they brought the building designer up?

I wonder what that could be?

Then when the software industry starts using even stricter forms of copy protection, and the price of games goes up even more, we can sit back and smile at our handywork.

Thats not what would happen - they would move to a free model utilizing advertising revenue instead - kinda like broadcast television. I think software is heading in that direction - especially as the "software as a service" era is about to kick in..
Ugh, ITV games. :P

The basic principle in SimLife is the same with some extra stuff, what say you?

Spore: General / Re: Expansion pack poll
« on: August 29, 2006, 12:06:31 pm »
hmm... i like how this poll is extremely slanted towards buying expansions.
Well, why not?

"They are nice, as long as the add to the game I buy them." That sounds pretty good to me...
In my opinion this is an extremely broad definition really.
Perhaps a better poll would be:

I want expansion to...
Add more realism! I want armies, organs, big cities and super novas etc. The works!
Just give me more stuff to play with and some clothes wouldn't hurt.
Finish the game. I'm bored of waiting for spore just give me what you've done and I'll pay for the rest.
Not to have existed in the first place they should be include everything in the original game.
Not exist in the first place, I want Sim Everything and I'm willing to wait until 2008 or whenever to get it.
umm... I don't really care to be honest. It depends on how I feel about the game in the end.

I dunno, what do you think?

A Zombie, THERE is an Abomination.
Zombieist! Prejudice against parasitic organisms and viruses!

I'm in your blood!

Spore: General / Re: Organs- the final answer
« on: August 27, 2006, 03:32:31 pm »
Personally I hope they at least have an organs expansion pack, I really want to roll up my sleeve put on a rubber glove shove my hand into those gooey alien internal organs and jiggle them around until they do something interesting.
But I'm guessing that's just me on that one.

I would personally like to see some alien device trigger a hypernova or gamma ray burst... truely immense blasts of radiation that can sterilize many cubic lightyears of space. You have to either shield your planets, move whole worlds, or just pack your fleets and colony ships and run .

But thats just me.
I wonder whether you could have a "industrial accident" that would cause a super nova...
(cookie for ref) :)

Everything Else / Re: What Happens When We Die?
« on: August 22, 2006, 12:17:41 pm »

I want to be me, in my body.

All of that stuff makes me, me. I would rather die then put my consciousness into a computer.
You’re serious? Ok lets say I put a gun to your head and here's the deal; your mind will transferred into what we would call a 'replicant' it's a super intelligent biomechanical machine that looks and feels like you except it's born in an artificial womb and moulded out of more durable materials; meaning you can now smash through bank volt doors run faster than some cars and never tire if you don't want to.
Also you know in Star Trek there was than android named data? He spent a lot of angsty episodes constantly trying to become more 'human' and gain emotions.
This is complete bullocks, human emotions are the simplest part of human behaviour to emulate after all it's not our emotions that make us human it's our intelligence.
So what do you say? Just die here and now do you really think you've contributed all you can to human society?
And trust me you won't have to go around being an angsty emo goth and sucking peoples blood until they die, which is usually where would pass on this issue.

Did you see "How William Shatner Changed the World" on The History Channel?

They were talking about this guy who has put computer sensors in his wrists and hand and can control robotic appendages through the internet.

He said that in a few years he hopes to connect his brain to the internet.

THAT really bothers me.

I want to be me.

Not a computer.
How may ask is it not you?
It would just be a question of shutting down parts of your brain as they are uploaded to the computer thus 'growing' it into the machine.

Everything Else / Re: Immortality, lolz!
« on: August 22, 2006, 10:27:39 am »
So if we were to achieve immortality, what then? Do we all get neutered so as to prevent the population from growing to a critical point? Maybe we start killing certain people off?
Psh we won't need to once we've grown(copied) human brains into computers the lack of any sex drive would negate that.
To be honest I like the idea of being an immortal supercomputer damn it I wish there was a donor card for that.
