I would like a better explanation on how the EA downloader works cause I am just waiting for something to pop up on it and start download. I have already pre-ordered it a while back. Do I need to go onto their website to start the download? Or is it supposed to go to my EA download manager?

If I am mistaken, a while back I remember an estimated number of a thousand creatures on the disc. But I could easliy be forgetting an "s" (thousands).

hmm I for one have no idea what I am going to be doing with just the creature editor. I had a vague idea of what I was gonna do with the actual game but now that i think about it, using just the creture editor kinda has me stumped. So...ya.

The reason I believe they are not doing gigantic planets is because of the realistic part of the game. You would not be able to take your creatures from a moon sized planet to one that is as big as Jupiter. They would die and any colony put on it would crumble from the gravity. They are trying to keep realistic values to this game, which I adore, without limiting you too much.

in any stage it doesn't matter about the climate of your planet. your creature could look like a wooly mamoth and be in a desert and he'd be fine. Unless i missed a piece of info. i am almost 100% on this. as for picking what type of planet you start at, I don't see why they wouldn't allow this. It could be like the Sim City terrain picker thingy but for a planet. I haven't heard much on this but i have been kinda tired trying to follow games lately.

So why are you guys preordering the editor? Can't you just download it?

Left 4 Dead FTW. Left 4 Dead will revolutionize the FPS co-op.

just because your computers go through a router to use the internet does not mean you have the same IP address, and as a matter of fact your computers would not be able to connect to eachother if that was the case, so if you have played Lan games with your wife then you do not have the same IP address. Like what has been said you can however use the copy offline and then get the updates for it on two separte computers, but it is illegal because technically you copied the game for another person.

Is there more of an exact date for this to be released since June is next month?

Good, at least their heads are out of their asses. But now I don't see a need for this charge unless they are really hurting for money. The only money they will make off this is going to be the idoits who don't get their discount from the game or those who are not going to purchase the game. But if you are debating on whether or not to purchase the game, I don't see a reason why you would get the 10 buck demo when you can try it out for free. They are just trying to make a little bit of money out of everything. I'll probably get it for free either way, and just pay the full for the game.

i like the culture idea, that would really help make the game last longer because I actually want to play this game more after I have completed the storyline and the missions, but making it really easy to go around and not need to worry about anything would kind of lower that play value for me. The only problem I see with the culture thing is that you are aloud to be a "Merchant" race, and making a ton of money, along with trading will allow you to buy your friends. I try not to exploit things I find in game that make it less entertaining but it is hard not to every once in a while to get something. I have always been wondering how the SimCity portion of the game will be when you have a ton of citys going at once, how would you be able to keep them happy all the time? You ight think 20 colonyies is a lot, but I plan on having every planet in my solar system colonized before I leave it, and then going to the next closest

Spore: General / Space Stage Question of Money
« on: April 22, 2008, 12:11:08 am »
I was just wondering if anyone has heard how Spore will be able to keep in check the amount of money you are able to obtain in the space stage? Such as having 20-30 colonies farming as much money as they can and getting a ridculous amount to where money turns into nothing to concern yourself about. You think they might put a cap on something like money per second so there is a max that you can earn a minute, or just a max on how much your race is able to keep like a 1,000,000 "dollar" limit at once adn the rest goes to waist?

i dotn buy demos nor would i ever consider buying just the creature editor only. Love Spore but it is stupid and terribly evil to charge for a demo even if it is the full creature editor. the creature editor is still a small portion of the game, so why not just let it be free. So **** EA and Maxis!! I don't care which is to blame cause no matter what they both are in one way or another.
