You know, while I too am excited about a new Sims title, in my opinions EA's pre-release screenshots, statements and descriptions almost always portray a big and dreamy concept which is actually not what their final product is really going to be. Especially in case of sequels. I hope being a Maxis product, means that Sims 3 is not going to be the same.

The Sims would be a far better game if the needs of the sims weren't such a constant factor. As it is, it is impossible to accomplish anything without mindless hours of tedious work involving clicking on a toilet, shower, bed, and fridge. :(

Hehehe... well, what can I say, I never bother myself about that. I always use what Interitus has said in his post and man that's fab! The guys at Maxis have made it even easier by writting all cheat codes in the game's read-me file since the first expansion pack. That makes things even easier for the likes of me! ;D

Wow... lots of good arguments here. I'm not a hard-core gamer so I would consider Diablo as an RPG before I read this thread but now I'm getting a big confused.  ;D

Ah well I cannot really say a single word against Diablo since it was the first game in the genre that I've ever played and it was quite a pleasant experience to be honest.  ::)

Good heavens... No, no, no!! I mean, no way!! I know of Bill Nighy and his superb performances in movies! What I meant was that it is the first time that I see Davy Jones as a main character of a big budget movie and I get to see how he looks. Usually he is just reffered to, in movies so I was amazed both by his actual looks and Bill Nighy's performance was top-notch as usual.

Sure! Just found and ordered a pack which contains all Baldur's Gate titles you mentioned. Should arrive here soon.

Since I'm currently busy with a research for a university project I might not be able to start right away but man that's something to look forward to!  ;D

Quite frankly I never enjoy the middle films as much as the first or third ones in a trilogy. I thought the first PotC movie was great but the only thing I liked from the first sequel was Davy Jones. Dunno is it the first time that the actual character of Davy Jones make it to silver screen?

As well as the endless unfinished plots that were thrown into the first sequel the main characters weren't just as fun as the first movie. Most jokes were repeated, unoriginal and mostly forced. The best joke that Johnny Depp delivered in the sequel, in my opinion was "Where's the thump thump?"

The ending of Dead Man's Chest and the rumors that are currently in the air are quite promising though and all the interviews I read here and there are suggesting a very good film with a grand finale.

Dunno but there's a little voice inside of me that says the third movie will be something simillar to Dreamworks animated movie Sinbad, Legend of the Seven Seas. In this cartoon the main character actually travels to what they call Worlds End. Interestingly, Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, the screenwriters of PotC films were the creative consultants of that movie... Ah well... We shall see...

Say is it totally cancelled or are they working on it from scratch again, only this time for the next-gen consoles?

Well, the way you guys are talking about it, I think I should give it a try. I always felt bad that I haven't played any of the Baldur's Gate games. If this is something in between the original NeverWinter Nights and Baldur's Gate, then it shouldn't hurt trying. Unless you guys suggest that I go straight to Baldur's Gate instead.

I'm planning to get a new RPG game soon so any comments on this will be greatly appriciated!  ;)

Thanks again!  ;)

Hey everybody.

I'm new to the board and as a newbie I'd appriciate if someone can give me a hand for the following.

Ok, I've been trying to answer a PM I just received but no matter where I look, I just can't seem to see any "Reply" or "Create A New Message" sort of buttons at all! I can delete what I have in my inbox but cannot create or reply the ones I already have, or at least I see no options that suggest I can do this via that particular option. Can someone please tell me how to do this here????

They said the idea of visiting other houses have always been in thoughts but since each house in The Sims games is a saved game, it's not really possible to do so.

Well, they've been singing the same song for having sims owning cars of their own but now we have this feature from Sims 2: Nightlife. I assume Visiting other Houses will be included in Sims games at some point. If not for Sims 2, it will certainly be a part of Sims 3. After all this has been something all fans have been requesting since the first game.

Back to you Lualmoba, Yes I tried all Sims 1 and 2 expansion sets. 'Makin' Magic' and 'Livin' Large' however were not on top of my fav-list because while I like fantasy, magic and all that, I don't really like to see it as a part of a life simulation game. I mostly welcome ideas that are based on real life. Of course as long as these features are not the main perspectives of the game, they're fun to be included but deffinitly not as the main idea. 'Makin' Magic' to me was like a dose of 'Harry Potter' and 'Sims'... weird!!

Like you said, "different things are good for different people" and what I just said above is an example of how true this statement is! ;)

Really? Why?

Well as for me, I didn't like it that much but it was kindda new in gaming experience for me to actually take a family that I've created to vacation, to hotels and all that. The idea of mini-games were not quite appealing really and the game had this sloppy performance on Windows XP where it would take to switch between neighborhoods. But the actual Hotel idea was fab and probably what really kept me messing with this game. I spent most of my time in Sims: Vacation building hotels actually ;D

Anyway, I'm sure if they're to use this idea in Sims 2, they'll deffintly re-design it or polish it (if I'm using the right phrase), just like they did for Pets. In fact... I dunno... Maybe this Sims 2: In Seasons is going to have some Vacation elements after all. We'll see!

Nah, it can't be Vacation. Maxis already said that even odd numbered expansion packs will contain new features so this one should be something we haven't seen yet.

I'd love to see Vacation to be added to Sims 2 though. It could be the the 6th expansion pack anyway. After all We're already told that EA will release at least seven expansion packs for Sims 2 before Spring 2009 release of Sims 3.
