@BroswerPic: Nix the Finder and Search bars.. FF has a nice default scailable search field in the 'Customize...' (Menus) dialoug window. (Right click on a empty space in the default menu and at the bottom of the list of installed menu's there is a Separator and the 'Customize...' option.) There is also a class of Firefox extension specifically meant to put more options for search engines into the drop down list of the defaut Search Box.

Perhaps all GS forumites should get a petition together to get the Users Spreadsheet from GS and ask of Spore.com (or a major fansite set up post-release) can port all the nicks that do not appear as duplicates of previously registered nicks. Or we can get a pre-release option to port our PostCount over manually and just register before the forum's opened to the public.

I think either the modeling engine looks cartoony to make the files easier to render or to make DAMN SURE the ESRB gives Spore a T at the most. (Because realstic looking animated things bloodletting on other realstic looking things is a M game, while cartoony apperances make things T. Ducking doublestandard.)

I ****ing bought the limited edition guide and limited edition of Final Fantasy XII. I'll save my pennies in Jan and Feb and get this. (AFter this I need to order the Final Fantasy XIII swag if it's out. Otherwise I need to get a new PS2 and a PS3... don't know how.)

I hate humans, so a human-centric name and banner drive me nuts. (I will say this is a wonderful community however and I've been here for three years. I would suggest members here put a tag in their Spore and Forum login names, just so we can keep in touch. I would put a tag in my name to represent my membership at this place.)

It's like GTA (doing tasks as your rise up the heiarchy  and comitting crimes incharacter), The SIms (customization and player expanions, and custom buildings*) and the GodFather (a mafia themed game!)

*Imagine designing your own speakeasy/den of ill repute/Gambling Den with your office on top.

Also got a piece of Need For Speed (A EA game) for the enivitable car dynamics. (Car chases need a good 'feel' to them.)

EA's CEO/Games lead can call SPORE tech support and ask about 'Error 1527" or whatever and if their gaming laptop get's messed up they can get another, they have the monies. (They also use a sepoerate computer uf the lappy breaks.)

Seriously....

And yes, EA makes crap. Catwoman, anybody?

Will the name the creator gives the creature be the one displayed when you interact with it? Or will you be given the chance to name it? Because if you think about it, each language has its own name for things...

I imagine that you can't change names of other's creatures.  I'm assuming there's a way to switch out a species you don't like or find offensive.

The name would probably come up now and then.  If you're in the space age and have contact with them, all communication with and about them'll have it.

I'm never going to ****ing autodownload content. You ever play web games online, espically popular ones? Too many Xtian/Xtards who like to use names that pound your head in with their 'religion'.

**** this, I'm going to see if there is a 'auto-seed' feature that tells the local game to generate species. it's better than the Xtard's populating my galaxy.

I want the ability to save previous literations of my creatures as files wherever I want, with custom filenames so I know what is what. I also want a miniature viewer so I can see what file is what. (Perhaps a way to take snapshots s I can take pictures of what elements are 'unique' to a literation of a creature.)

It goes without saying I want to ability to go back several versions of a creature (literations of a creature.) Yes I'm going to be intelligently evolving my creature. (More evolution than intelligently designed.)

I hate that this will not be done because it will be 'showing people what tools should be used' and ticking poff Xtians.

Oh.. I want cute and easily preyed upon critters early on. (I'm a wimp). I also am probably not going to go into the tribal stage until I amsolutly have to. (I hope it's not forced.)

I want weaponized hands or fingers. Or weaponized arms (sharp cthin or bone protrusions.) I also want creatures that have maximum 'cloak' to be black. (I want shadows damnit!)

My firewall blocks programs until I give permissions. I'd also like to poiint out I'd be tempted to DL a leaked cell phase only. (I'd be afraid 3D would be buggy, while Cell is easy to do... or so I'd hope it's bugless.)

Although I would after DLing a cellphase preorder it however possible.

Clones of my critter but with weapons instead of various bits. (So a lighter unit will look like one of my critters got borged. (Load the creature model inside the unit editor and then edit THAT.)

Heavies will prob be just more 'morphed' versions of my peeps, or enlarged versions of my peeps. (Like Cyberdemons are to humiform monsters.)

Found a nice 5 page article/interview about spore written by the NY Times. Gives some new insite to terreforming planets also gives a nice run down of the Spore office. If anything this is a good point by point article for anyone who wants to know whats been going on in spore since 05. A really good read. I liked the part about the accidents that can happen during terreforming.
