TV / Farscape

I looked through this forum and found no mention of this awesome sci-fi series, so I thought I should rectify this! I've just finished watching the first season and I must say that I am impressed. They have a lot of awesome special effects and aliens that actually look good and original, yet the series still manages to have an intelligent plot and characters you can feel for. If you haven't seen it yet, shame on you, your lives just can't be complete without it, go and watch!

Movies / Internet shorts
« on: February 02, 2006, 05:02:11 pm »
This thread is for short movies only (or almost only) found on the internet. Now I just hope it won't get plastered by all those google video links that're floating around everywhere, even though those are really funny at times. Anyway, here are my contributions:
http://www.sockbaby.com/   This is the story about the Sockbaby, a tale of epic proportions in three episodes. After you have seen these your new hero will be named Ronnie Cordova and the way you see the world will forever be changed.
http://content.jengajam.com/nutrigrain_medium.mov  An advert, so some might not classify this as a short movie, but in my opinion, it is. The style is actually very similar to the Sockbaby. From this movie you will learn that whenever you are in a bad situation, it might help to just yell out "I FEEL GRRREEAAAT, YEEEEEAAAAAAHHH!!!"
Anyway, post any good internet short flicks here!

PC Games / Trackmania Nations
« on: January 30, 2006, 01:39:04 am »
Okay for all you people who can't wait to get this thing, here's the link: http://www.trackmanianations.com

I am sure all of you know Trackmania or Trackmania Sunrise, two fun racing games by Nadeo. About three days ago, the next in the series, Trackmania Nations was released. Between this and its predecessors, there are some differences however: First, there's only one kind of graphic set (The Stadium) and Second, it's free.
Yes, you heard me right, it's free. That's because Trackmania Nations is this years game for the Electronic Sports World Cup and was especially made just for this event. There's a ladder divided into nations and quite some prize money involved if you manage to stay on top of those rankings. The game can also be played single player or in LAN mode, but internet multiplayer is where the real fun starts. It's an awesome game where you really can see yourself getting better, taking the corners without hitting the edges and doing the jumps correctly etc.
There's only one problem with this game that might turn some people off: The thing is Starforce protected. Only god knows why a free game would be Starforce protected, but I guess it has something to do with the fact that the previous games in the series were too. Anyway, I still recommend you to get this game now, because it's really, really fun.
Steve probably should make an article about this, since it might become quite the big event :P
