Spore: General / Signature creatures?
« on: March 13, 2006, 10:20:36 pm »
SO, i was curious...when spore is out and all that fun jazz, will any of you be using your forum name? or one like it? so everyone in this community can recognize your work? my guess, which i dont doubt, is that you name your creature, and im sure in some menu or info file, that you can see the name/nick-name of who made the creature, although i might end up being invader Dake if that fits. ^ ^ that way those of you who like my stuff cna go HEY WOW dakes Seversaur is eating me! thats a cool dinosaur!

Spore: Creation Corner / NEW My Main Sentient: Mikan's
« on: March 11, 2006, 07:29:07 am »
The Mikans never evolve much bigger then thier basic land forms. aside from standing upright and gaining an extra pair of opposable thumbs. These creatures grow thier brain faster and far earlier then any being on thier world. they thoerize that thier curiosity caused them to grow so intelligent so quickly. also, thier curiosity stunted thier evolution because theyd get curious about htings that'd prove to be deadly, thus minimalizing thier ability to evolve further. They quickly become an enlightened race obsessed with things that are efficient whether they be animals..or tools and technology. They grow ever curious about the sky, and wish to reach every limit a being can reach. eventually they go out to search for unique creatures and races that can advance thier own knowledge or make thier world and NEW perfect world, a better place for thier species. Standing at an astounding 2 1/2 feet tall they take many of the races they come across by surprise, those who take them lightly and attempt to take advantage of them will find themselves on the "must go" list of intergalactic collection.
But for the most part, they travel the galaxy looking for beings to join them on thier perfect planet that they will build once they have collected all the data and animals and resources they need to make the perfect ecosystem.
They have light cream colored fur with faded tan spots and a light grey patch around thier eyes. thier speed and thier spines are thier only defenses until they pull out thier arsenal of technology. The Mikans may be small, but what THEY lack in height, they make up for in thier technology/vehicles and buildings. they have massive metropolises to hold thier nearly over crowded cities, and thier military vehicles put other larger races to shame when it comes to intimidation factor and arsenal. they arent a very violent race but thier wisdom surpasses that and theyt wont be taken by surprise if war should come to them. Thier four arms and thier abnormal ability to multi task prove very useful when in the cockpit of one of thier advanced vehicles. they can cover more controls by themselves then most races, thus they use very little man power for each vehicle which is an advantage when other races have to have several of thier men per-vehicle causing thier armies to have less fire power, but with minimal man power in thier vehicles, the Mikan's can show off thier numbers not only in men, but in arsenal as well. ^ ^

EDIT: I gave them the name Mikan because it reminds me of the word meek. thier galactic symbol is represented by the antlers of a Jackaloose carved into a holy symbol.
Oh..might want to post the Jackaloose huh..

Spore: General / United Galactic Federation....thing.
« on: March 11, 2006, 06:54:44 am »
When Spore is out and all is said and done. i always thought itd be cool to have a website dedicated to the many sentient a star wars type glactic council type thing. were we can discuss political stuff with each other depending on what sentients you've come across in the galaxy, and how you reacted to them visa versa. so say if my main sentients( i have yet to show) encounter another race, try to make piece and get attacked, id go onto the forum and declare a proposition, if you say, act the same as the AI of your race does to me, then i migh declare war on your people on the forum. or possibly your planet...
although i might also try to sway the councils heart toward war with you as well. etc etc. or say, if someone creates a GHASTLY hybrid/imbred creature
i may bring to the council a case to eliminate this insult of nature and get a galactic vote. stuff like thta. i think we could have alot of fun with a site like tha. hainvg trials etc. all depending on how our game goes for each of us. although i know nothing of making websites...

EDIT: a good the beginin of lilo and stitch! how jumba is on trial. i love that scene. or a republic meetings in the newer star wars movies.

Spore: Creation Corner / New Sentient: Rapturians
« on: March 11, 2006, 06:37:30 am »
Yeah. names in the works but it needed one anyway.
These guys are meant for an all dinosaur planet. hopefully one day ill make more..and you guys feel free to add to planet dino-cronia with your own wacky dinosaur things. itd be neat to see. these guys are pretty much ravenous and greedy, very warlike, but in a prankster sort of way.
They have a sadistic nack for making torturous or extremly violent "overkill" weapons, like this murderous spear this one holds, useful in many different bashing ways.

OH Rapture!

HONESTLY i made this guy for the four eyed planet. i forget who has all the four eyed guys...hydro? anyways. itd be great if this guys accepted into that planet. if not, i made him fit in with my other creatures too at least tried.
Hmm. havent thought much about him yet. kinda still in the works too. basically a girrafe/horse. the bones on his back...thought baout redoing it as a saddle. but i kinda wanted an animal that didnt need a saddle to be ridden with, but i think what i gave him looks too evil.
you tell me.

Spore: Creation Corner / New Creature: Liktop
« on: March 11, 2006, 06:15:38 am »
This is the tallest mamal on the planet at a good 14 ft or more, the Liktop spends its days in thick foresty areas with trees that have soft leaves. They use thier tongue to wrap around leaves and pull them into thier mouths by the bundles. very slow and docile creatures, they barely even notice the world below them, always moving form tree to tree to feed, or nap. The color of thier fur matches that of the thin trees they eat from. therefore they dont have many predators that can notice them while they stand for long periods for time. Alos lilke horses these guys sleep standing up, and if ever one was to lay down, it would have a hard time getting up, and most likely would be attacked being that laying down they apear as a smaller creature.
They migrate once a year to mate, and only have one offspring. the migration to the breeding grounds takes months to get to at thier speed. The horns on thier backs change color and are purely for attracting mates. Females lack these horns.
Once in awhile during feeding a liktop comes across families of Kowalks who reside and eat in the same type of thin trunked trees. The Kowalks are territorial and often bark and snicker at them to go away, the liktops dislike all the chatter and noise and usually move on.

I actually had a dream about this guy. the way he moved was alot like a geko. fast and sparatic. although hes sized then geko sized.
one of the troical lizards of my planet, he eats a variety of insects using his tongue.

(havent thought much else about him.
and as a note for all my creatures. PLEASE tell me what you think of each of my creatures, or things youd change or add about them. i LOVE constructive critisicm thank you all for your compliments.)

Spore: Creation Corner / New Creature: Kowalk
« on: March 11, 2006, 05:35:33 am »
The Kowalk was my first idea for a sentient being, but i decided against that. They have three kinds of hands/arms. each with a primary function.
His top hands are his main hands. used for exploring, and manipulating objects, also feeding himself with. the bottom hands are the secondary set, used for support to the top hands, like picking somehting up from the ground then holding it in his top hands. They are also his weapons, being his bottom hands have the longest claws, also used for foraging or digging. Along with the bottom hands are the back hands. together they are used to hold him up in the tree tops while he eats with his top hands. his back hands are mainly for tree climbing in the dense snakey branches. also the three hands make some kind of clapping music during mating season. each male seems to clap a different "song" using a combination of his three hands.

OK, honestly i dont think he really looks all that close. other then his gemy eyes.

Spore: Creation Corner / New Creature: Tuskinak
« on: March 11, 2006, 05:16:52 am »
The Tuskinak is an aquatic shore-dwelling mammal. This prehistoric dog has a taste for BIG fish and even some aquatic reptiles. In packs these creatures usually hunt animals larger then themselves, such as shark-like creatures, or large alligator type reptiles. Different packs tend to have different food prefrences. a Tuskinak born into a fish eating pack will not desire reptiles or any other prey, nor would he/she be accepted into a heard who eats things other then fish. Thier large hammer-like tails are used for mating rights/fighting and building thier muddy dens. The larger and more numerous a male's tusks are, the more attractive he is to a mate. During the mating season, the males duel for mates and fight with thier rock hard hammer tails atempting to break or dismember the others tusk display, which can lead to death for a tusinak with a small display. Here we have a young First year male. he will not be traveling to the mating lake for another year or two when he has at least two full grown tusks. When a mate has been won overm the males begin a type of side-step dance grunting and howling with thier gargled baratone bark.

Spore: Creation Corner / New Creature: Narwark
« on: March 11, 2006, 04:59:24 am »
Probably the loudest and most obnoxious creature on the planet is the Narwark here you can see a small food chain between three closely competitive creatures. The Narwarks warble is so loud that it uses it from a distance to scare off predators it can see from the tree tops, so that it can land in the open fields safely to find its favprite grub, the Pronble worm. It does not fly however, but it does stretch out its arms and flap its flittery wings rapidly to decend softly to the groud over a length of 300 ft. this type of flight makes it a very slow and easy target for any predators coming at it while its gliding down. however, it can outrun nearly any of its predators on foot. It uses its gnarled head to dig into the duff of rotting wood where there might be scores of Pronble worms hiding.

OH YEAH the flying creature up top is a Prondart if you can't read it, and its a competitor with the Narwark not a pre-evolution ^ ^

Spore: Creation Corner / New Creature: Lake Monk
« on: March 11, 2006, 04:51:50 am »
The lake monk, probably the biggest rodent i'll have on my planet. he stands on all fours at an average height of 3-4 ft. they scurry/waddle on lad and arent very fast. but under water they can propel thier boyant bodies at great speeds. in defense against predators they extend thier spikes and spin in a circle either towards or away from thier assailant. this spinning makes it hard for the predator to make a clean attack without becoming injured.
The monk-like dots on thier foreheads are actually they're nostrils, each pair leading to its own little air sack, of which oxygen can be pushed into the lungs in order to stay under water for a longer amount of time.

Spore: Creation Corner / New creature: Ivory King
« on: March 11, 2006, 04:45:05 am »
Well, i've been lurking around for sometime now, and i finally got enough stuff drawn up that i doubt i can ever show it all, but i'm going to start with all my favorite stuff.
i dont have all my creatures as thought out as some of you. but i enjoy the visual concepts still.
Heres the ivory King. combined the idea of the tusks of a rhino an elephant and a walrus into one giant marshy bottom feeder. He digs about in the mud under shallow water with his flat plate-like scale on his snout. He then scoops his weedy findings up with his plate scale like a spoon and eats his reward. His twin tail is actually meant to be about a foot and a half longer so that it can help swipe at insects that fly around him. his tusky display is used for attracting a mate, intimidation, and brawling.
