Spore: General / Saddened by people's overly high standards
« on: July 23, 2008, 10:08:29 am »
I keep seeing sites with people claiming to be Spore Fans (Obviously they're not, they're either ignorant or trolls), such as amazon, or other places, with people boycotting Spore because of the DRM.  There's always been DRM.  There was DRM on text adventures!  You had to type in a little code on a piece of paper to start the game the first time.  People weren't boycotting Zork because "What if we lost the slip of paper... then the game would be useless garbage"... but that's as likely to happen as the disasters people claim to be common with SecuRoM.  Anyone who disagrees, or even doesn't comment on the SecuRom is called an EA stooge.  I'm dissapointed.  Have we been spoiled by DRM-less games?  I think so.

Storytelling and Roleplaying / Hall of Rejected Universes
« on: July 17, 2008, 02:55:48 pm »
For now this is just a periodical, but I'll make an RP based on it.

Note:The character called Insert is either what God you worship, or, if you are an athiest, some sort of mystery-shrouded figure who created our Universe.

Insert, of the Genesis Corporation, was working in his laboratory.  He tried to get a universe just right, but failed repeatedly, as Thomas Edison failed repeatedly at making a lightbulb.  Our universe is one of those failures.  His goal was to make a universe where Humans that were aesthetically like his race lived in Utopia.  He was simply too compassionate to destroy the failures.  Evventually he succeeded, but this is not the story of Insert's Success.  This is the story of Insert's failures.  Each universe had unique physics.  Insert usually succeeded in creating humans in each universe, but there was alway something wrong with the society that stopped it from being perfect.

Coming soon (probably today)-Reject Universe #1

What do you think of them?  Personally, I agree with her point most of the time, but she's awfully uncivil about the language she uses to prove it.  As far as I know, she's never convinced someone who disagrees with her views to agree with them.  She's only really useful as a battle-cry for Conservatives, not as a I-want-to-know-what-the-other-side-thinks for liberals.

Really, you'd have to be the top world gamer to beat this!  I haven't even gotten to the first save point!

I just remembered this, and realised how it was like Spore...
