Spore: General / Content Seeding Oddities
« on: September 14, 2008, 10:23:01 am »
Played a game from Cell to Space stage and made three odd discoveries during early space stage.

First was when I looked around my homeworld in my newly designed spaceship and noticed that one of the creatures inhabiting my homeworld was the creature phase version of a spacefaring race I made earlier in the opposite end of the galaxy.

This was not entirely unexpected but what happened soon after sure was.

Second discovery was when I discovered MY OWN RACE complete with the same space phase clothing and color running around the woods of my homeworld like any regular creature. That was nice because now I could seed my own worlds with "ecotourists". I now also could seed independent empires of my own creature by uplifting them. Beamed a couple into my cargohold for safekeeping.

Third discovery was when I left out to look for my first neighboring empire, I found them and to my surprise I encountered myself again as an independent empire. I quickly allied with them. Now I could simulate space phase civil wars if I wanted to.

By now I had in less than 10 minutes encountered my own race twice in two different contexts.

Anyone else had these kinds of oddities happen to them?

Spore: General / Questions about description

I'd like to know the community (if someone knows, might as well throw in EAs policy on it as well) opinion on writing descriptions for a creature.

Personally i like to write descriptions for creatures as i think it adds a lot more content-wise than just sharing a creature without any description at all, though both approaches have their merits.

1. My question is, that considering the game is made for people of all ages, does mildly profane language ever have a home in creature descriptions if it was censored and potentially made the description more entertaining to read?

2. In addition, anyone else think that the size limitations on descriptions are way too restrictive?
I know i do.
