Anyone else watching this show?  They took a kind of obscure x-men character and made a weird atmospheric show about him.  I'm two episodes in, not entirely sure what's going on but I'm enjoying the ride.

For movies about superheroes that have already been done far better in cartoon form.

New Top Gear premieres on BBC America tonight, I think it already aired on BBC.  Anyone going to watch the trainwreck with me?  And we're still waiting on the Amazon show.

Portable Games / Ph... Phone Games?
« on: August 02, 2015, 01:54:27 pm »
Yes I know, iphone and android games are terrible, they're full of microtransactions, and playing them makes you a filthy casual.

But let's be honest, it's a lot easier to play a game on your phone when you're bored in public than it is to whip out your 3ds.  So let's talk about phone games we actually like and would recommend.

TV / Guilermo del Toro's The Strain
« on: July 11, 2015, 10:19:30 am »
Who all caught the first season of this show?  Del Toro's weird parasite worm vampires vs New York City.  It starts as a medical investigation by the CDC, and things go off the rails from there.  And did I mention the vampire Nazi?  Season 2 starts this Sunday.

Everything Else / 2016 Election

What the hell, let's get this trainwreck started.

This will be the thread for discussing all aspects of the 2016 elections, from state and local candidates flipping out and doing stupid things, to which Republican will lose to Hillary.

Guys.  Go see this movie.  I went into it not knowing exactly what to expect, other than a space movie by Christopher Nolan.  It's the best movie I've seen this year and the best scifi I've seen in a long time.  The visuals are jaw dropping and music and sound are used amazingly well.  And in a rare occurrence for a scifi movie, actual scientific theories are key points in the story.

PC Games / Gamergate: War on Festivus Edition
« on: September 04, 2014, 08:14:47 pm »
There's been a lot of talk recently about the state of video game journalism.  We've known Kotaku SucksTM for a long time now, but it seems this whole Quinnspiracy thing has blown up the issue.  So far we've been mostly talking about it in the off topic topic, but this seems like an issue that's going to be around for a while and I figured it can have it's own thread.  So the Kotaku Sucks thread can be for actual news about games, and this thread can be about all the hacks surrounding gaming.
