Continuing the trend of weird movies on the horizon...

The tree being chopped in one hit was just absolutely hilarious.

It's a single player roguelike with skill trees and plenty of achievements for those that are into that kind of thing.

Randomly generated dungeons. A ton of items (and far too many types of cheese), a metric frackton of pop culture references.

40 skills trees (7 available per character). My first character was an axe-using vampire that, of course, had bloodlust. Rampaging MACHINE. There's also the option for randomizing your character's skills.

5 bucks on Steam.

Portable Games / iPhone Apps

I acquired an iPod Touch late last year. Since then, I've been enjoying a wide range of applications... particularly games.

The first excellent games I played were the Jelly Car games. The first one is free and comes with a good sized map pack. Jelly Car 2 costs a buck and introduces some new features and a ton of new maps.

Most recently, I've been playing Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.

I'll leave it at that for now and open the floor for discussion before I toss in other app games I enjoy.

I've been having fun with this game. It's sort a Wilderness Survival type game. Using different items found on the Island, your goal is to craft them into new items and buildings and survive on an Island. Animals to hunt... some quite dangerous.

Though it can be quite difficult to find what items can be crafted into what.

First thing you will need is a hammer which requires a branch and a rock. From there, you can work out most of the game yourself. I strongly suggest playing through Adventure Mode as it teaches you the basics.

Also, there are other modes to play, such as just random island setting on a difficulty of your choice, single island mode, and Raptor Hunting.

Oh, and did I mention it's freeware? Download Page

PC Games / Tour of Generals

From the man who brought you CyberNations comes Tour of Generals. It's Risk. Simple enough.

I'm starting a GamingSteve game. If this game is popular enough, I shall get a member account so I can host games in locked zones such as Europe. For now, our choices are limited. We'll go with South America.

I suggest you play a couple fast paced games before this one gets started so you can get the hang of the game.

Basics

Every round you get 1 "turn".

A turn can be spent on moving your armies. Some games may require you spend parts of your turn to attack or transfer units between squads.

Your objective is to control all the countries on the map.

A country can't be captured if an a squad is in range of the capital. You must destroy them first.

Important: If you don't spend your "turns" then they will accumulate over rounds. You may spent accumulated turns whenever you wish. Players are known to save turns so that they may travel vast distances in a short amount of time (even though it takes time to accumulate several turns).

GamingSteve South America Game

Game Name: GamingSteve South America (Link)

Password: Glicker

Players: 10
Unit Limit: 15 (You may have up to 15 individual army squads)
Unit Transfers: Allowed (Consumes a turn)
Attacking: Doesn't Consume Turns to Attack (Players have immunity from attack first two turns)
Movement: Consumes .5 of a turn.
Round Duration: 1 Day (24 Hours)

I will send out PMs and try to give out enough time before the game starts to make sure everyone is aware. The game's system will also email you when the game launches (if your settings allow it).

It's very much like hangman, just without the hangman.

You put up a censored name. For an example, let's use Brandonazz: **********

Player guess letters. Let's say one guesses A. Then you update the puzzle to include the guessed letter. **a****a**

This is done until someone gets it right. Then it's their turn to put up a puzzle.

You may guess more than once between updates, but one guess per post. and allow for a few posts in between your guesses. No need to set a number, but there's no reason to make a guess every 3 posts. Give it a good 4 or 5 I'd say, but as mentioned, no need for a set number. Use a good judgement.

If it is your turn, keep in mind it is very poor taste to use a member who has been long since inactive and/or a very low post count and would be virtually unknown to most everyone.

Let's Begin.

Well, I'm enjoying the game far too much to not talk about it with other forumites who might have gotten it.

I managed to work around the Stylus only type controls.

I'm rather like the backstory and the changing environment. I played Friends of Mineral town intensely. The entire playable area seems so static and non-changing. It's great how the island here grows with you.

Oh, and I got the Chicken Plush.

I understand why they don't want him in the game... but how do you tell a child he simply isn't allowed to play baseball because he did too well?

Might as well make a thread for it. Though I'm probably the only one in the forums this excited for it. The movie is going to be a monster-of-the-week type rather than the Mythology. Meaning it won't get too deep into the main story of alien conspiracies and super soldiers and whatnot and will be more stand-alone. Which will be good for anyone to get into the movie without being a complete nut about the rest of the series.

There seems to be a lack of Robert Patrick, Annabeth Gish, and Mitch Pileggi in any credits I've seen. Chris Carter says that William "will not go unconsidered". But don't see how much they can do with him without the movie being part of the mythology.

Without going too much into spoilers, it looks like they'll need at least one more movie for the mythology. To help tie together with the cliffhanger left off at the end of the last episode... I don't want to spoil the series too much...

Anyhow, so I hope I'm not the only one this excited for it. That would be weird... huh?... right...?

Just finishing off the podcast now. I must say, I've been excited about Spore for ages... But probably my favorite bit of news about upcoming release was Banjo Kazooie 3. I love the first one on the Nintendo 64. I was eight when it first came out. Man, that was simply a great game.

Was playing RuneScape when he mentioned it. Had to salute the air there.
