So many of us have gotten to space stage and are zooming about as one does, exploring, what easter eggs or little surprises do you think are out there?.

I've noticed that there are some stars that are between the spiral arms and too far out to be reached at all, I cant tell what they are called, or anything, because they are far out of radio range either, so I kinda wonder whats in those systems, or if they are just random.

I guess if you've found anything interesting in space exploration, share it here. :)

Below are some of my critters that I've made within the first 5 hours of owning the demo.


I'll make a more accurate Tuskoraptor when I get the full game.

A friend made this one.

The Epictoad. Because it is epic. Why?. Its a mystery.

Misilepod, a creature created by a long dead alien race as a biological weapon, now it lives amongst the decayed ruins of its creators, no carnivore predates upon it, careful examination gives an idea why.

A Hellfist. Yes, Hell does exist, it orbits star PX67-G in the Garook'aksha constellation.

Isn't it adorable?.

The Sqawooch is a cute little critter. It reproduces by paralyzing a sentient lifeform then injecting its ravenous larvae into the abdominal cavity of the host. It evolves into worse...

And last but not least, the Tankmite, a tough little guy, his shell might be hard but his heart is as soft as warm butter.


These are some other beasties made between me and my mate.


The Kissuf

The Kissuf are cold blooded oxygen breathing Xeno-Crustacean's that dwell in the thick and hot and humid rainforests that are abundant on their hot homeworld.

The Kissuf evolved from Crustaceans that moved onto land to fill the empty niches left by the mass extinction of the Dinomamma when a super volcano erupted and devastated life on land.

The Kissuf evolved more recently from a tree living ancestor, that was well adapted for climbing through the trees, and this is visible in the four hands modern Kissuf's still posses, though their rear hand has evolved to facilitate speed rather then climbing, and the larger of the front hands are stumpier then their ancestors, due to primarily being used as front feet.

Kissuf mate by the males dancing and waving gathered leaves and flowers in their lower hands while they shake their "thing", the upper joint between the body and rear leg, dazzling females with their bright upper body coloration to impress her. When they mate they will clasp front to front, and the male will insert his spermatopositor into an opening in her lower mouth and release his gametes into a storage pouch.

only a third of Kissuf population is female hence male competition for the privilege of mating is fierce but peaceful.

The female can keep the sperm package for several months until she is ready to fertilize her eggs, which she keeps internally in her lower body. The embryo's within the eggs will then grow for around three weeks before hatching inside her. She will then release them and they will live on her, for several weeks more, as they grow, sucking up sustainance from pores on the round patches on her back, which are only lime green on the females.

After this period the young Kissuf will still be relatively small, but from that point on they will leave their mothers back and go their own way, the mother plays no further part.

Kissuf live for about 60 years without genetic alteration or otherwise technological and social interference.

Kissuf are omnivores, though with the coming of agriculture, their favorite meat is from the cat sized Gikt that they have domesticated. The Gikt is notable for being a fairly primitive land crustacean, and is an ingredient in many praised Kissuf cuisine.


Kissuf live in avarage sized colonies of around 100 with around 30 leading females, one female being the groups leader.

While Kissuf do have cities, colony tradition is still maintained, much as an Earth clan or tribe, and kissuf belonging to powerful and wealthy colonies are much admired and envied by other Kissuf colonies. The more prominent and leading colonies will be relatively large, while some poor and unimportant colonies can dwindle to 50 individuals. Generally a colony below 50 soon break up, and its remaining members seek to join other colonies.

Colonies generally work together within large associations called cooperatives, these act much like nation states. It is rare for a colony to change allegiance to another coop due to the taboo and sheer level of integration a colony has within its coop. new colonies will generally join the coop they reside in or the coop of their parents.

Crime can be punished by exile from a coop. While small crimes are punished with reasonable punishments towards the culprit, more severe crimes are punished with exile from the coop and colony, and this is effective, since the punishment is essentially isolating and expelling an individual from general Kissuf society. These rogue Kissuf will generally congregate in isolated rural communities, and may form ad hoc colonies, though they are not recognized by any official colony, and female crime is significantly lower then male, hence many of these rogue colonies can only survive on recruitment of newly exile Kissuf.

In the most severe cases, entire colonies have been expelled from greater Kissuf society. Generally though, in all but the most severe cases (which are met with colonial execution) this serves to force an exiled colony back in line, as the leaders will be fully exiled while the colony as a whole merely serves a period of penance, after which, they are allowed back into their coop and Kissuf society.

Kissuf colonies specialize, for example, the leading colony will be in charge of government, martial kissuf will police and defend the coop, other colonies will be involved mostly in administration, or medical car, or their own private business interests. The only exception is the judicial system, where an aspiring Lawyer has to pass a set exam and course of study before being accepted by the coops leading circle of judges. As such while policing may be down to one or two colonies, the court system is one of the few institutions of a coop that is meritocratic and fully inclusive of all Kissuf bar exiled ones.


The Kissuf homeworld is a warm humid moon of a gas giant two times larger then Jupiter. The moon is just slightly smaller then Earth, with no Icecaps, the poles being covered in forest.

The land-sea ratio is about even.

The gas giant orbits a sun like star, within its habitable zone. The system is a binary one with a red dwarf companion star.

There is one small rocky planet between the star and the gas giant, another smaller gas giant beyond the main one, and a thick asteroid belt beyond that, before giving way to open space and the system edge debris cloud.

The gas giant has 12 moons, counting the Kissuf Homeworld, mostly being large asteroids. The outer gas giant is notable for having 20 moons, 14 of which are large enough to be spherical. The largest two hold atmospheres, but are too cold to sustain life.


Kissuf culture is diverse, but due to the predominance of females, involves many older cultures idealizing the female as divine, with religions involving female deities, or stories of a male Kissuf going through great challenge to get to mate with an angelic female.

War is a rare occurance and not a concept most Kissuf idolize. The notion of the glory of war and a warrior being something to admire is fairly alien to most Kissuf. Even the colonies involved in policing/defense see it as nothing more then a regrettable last resort, something their colony undertakes for the well being of the colony, and certainly armed colonies tend to spend more time in other peaceful past times and tasks then actual training and armed endeavor.

As such Kissuf technology in regards to civil use, has always been more advanced and researched then war technology, to most Kissuf, the glory and heights of achievement is to benefit civil cohesion and prosperity. In contrast war and war preparation is merely the logical smart act of insuring against all possibilities.

While rare, war like Kissuf do exist, as is to be expected in a diverse sapient race, but they tend to end up exiled or even executed, due to their criminal disruptions to their colony, coop, or all Kissuf society.


Kssftcltgisk is the rough Anglicization of how the Kissuf call themselves in their own tongue.

Kisufiteclatorgisk Is how their name appears officially in all interspecies (should it occur) contact.

Kissuf is the unofficial Anglicization of their name.

(The device has no lights or exterior markings, and scans prove nothing but that it has a power signature, the device is surrounded by a large flotilla of Aurak Battlecruisers and the Aurak homeworld has began to increase production of warships. The perimeter of the system is buzzing with increased Aurak naval activity, swarms of strikecraft patrol the edge of their sacred territory, warships hang in the vast void of space, vigilantly watching into the depths of interstellar space against any threat to the integrity of Aurak space. The device is as large as a capital ship and so far impervious to Aurak attack. It has began emitting a grav well, impeding any effort to tow the object out of Aurak space.)

Planet: Garegar

Garegar orbits a main sequence star, called Sarkek.
The system contains a "hot Jupiter", a gas giant that orbits extremely close to the star.
This one is known as Sarakaar, the antagonist of Tuskoraptor religion. Sarakaar is known as the fallen brother of Sarkek. This gas giant can cause eclipses, and due to its proximity to the sun, which in ancient times was thought of as a duel between the god of light and order and the god of darkness and chaos. The eclipse looks spectacular when observed through observational devices.
The planet is tidally locked and one side always faces the star.
Two moons, Sara and Kaar, orbit it, named after the twin aspects of the god, that of darkness and that of chaos, which are said to manifest separately to his followers or those he wished to corrupt.

Next follows the asteroid belt, which in later years provides the Tuskoraptors with bountiful mineral resources.

The comes Garegar, the homeworld, no moons.

Seroo, named after the wandering god of wilderness, is a desert world, no native higher life-forms, though native plant life and insects exist around the few water sources, scientists believe the world was once lush in the distant past, but began to dry up long before Tuskoraptors sapience. Recent discoveries dug up some artificial artifacts. Tuskoraptors would spend many hundreds of years debating whether sapient life had evolved on Seroo before the drying, or alien visitors had left the artifacts.
One green fertile moon orbits. It is to Tuskoraptors what the Caribbean is to humans, with some zoo's safari's, and general leisure facilities. Seroo and the moon, Reken, were the first worlds to be visited by Tuskoraptors when they entered the space age.

Demor is the largest planet in the system, a gas giant, it is named after the son of Sarkek, over-god. Demor was charged with the responsibility of caring for the order of the world and the heavens much as a Sheppard must watch over his flock of sheep. In mythology he is said to ensure all the stars are ordered and follow their respective pilgrimages across the heavens. He is also responsible for ensuring the other gods pay homage to the creator by dancing around him in great paths, even Sarakaar could not  resist the will of over-god and great son, and so when not "battling" the over-god, he must also pay homage, though it is mere lip-service.
The three moons of Demor are named after the three daughters of that god, Deme, Moren and Soorp.

The last world is a smaller blue gas giant, named Demeresh, the wife of Demor. Demeresh was said to dwell beyond the confines of the world, caring for the departed souls of Tuskoraptors and other ethereal minor dieties, as her creations she longed to be with her children, the tuskoraptors, and it is said the first stars were tears wept from her grief to watch her children grow in life. She couldnt abandon the children that returned to her, and so she felt conflicted.
When she married Demor, he convinced his father to take the souls of her children in his arms, and so she was free to enter the world and watch the Tuskoraptors with her own eyes. But Sarkek had made a condition, she would have to remain with her husband in the heavens, and assist him for eternity in maintaining order there. The moon of this planet is called Haarik.
Haarik the god was son of Demor and Demeresh, who was said to have walked amongst the Tuskoraptors of Garegar often. He was said to have been a great warrior who fought the minions of Sarakaar often, eventually he was tasked with patrolling the edge of the world and heavens, blocking the way for the dark dieties and servants of Sarakaar.
It is said that when the over-god judges a soul to be bad, it is greeted by Haarik, who himself ceremonially banishes the lost soul from the confines of the world through the eternity gate.


This is a Tuskoraptor backpack robotic manipulator.

following understanding of more advanced robotics, this device became widely spread.

For dangerous activities, for scientific research, labour, construction, it became as wide-spread and used as the human car.

It also allowed for the first time for Tuskoraptors to have two manipulators each individual, meaning tasks specifically requiring two tuskoraptors now only needed one.

Some traditionalist politicians and old folk said the manipulator was cheapening a very important social unit, that of a traditional work team of two tuskoraptors. Many tuskoraptor families were created from a male and female tuskoraptor being paired to work together, and some believed the new technology would threaten not only ancient tradition, but one of the main ways tuskoraptors paired off.

Fortunately this was never the case, the traditional Rekar "work team" was still kept, but now they became more efficient with 2 sets of manipulators instead of one.

Edit: The lines aren't smooth because I don't have a graphics tablet, and the colouring is a big dodge because of the pencil work underneath. Sorry if its bothering anyone.

The Aurak homeworld is 2 thirds ocean, much of it deep, with jagged dark ocean floors, a third of their world is barren rocky land, with a few volcano's, their world could be described as in the early stages of evolution of life, but by chance, the Aurak have managed to evolve sapience before land life has evolved, as such dry land is barren bar a few microbial matts near ocean edges and just beneath the ashy soil.
The shallow ocean around the land is vibrant and colourful and rich in aquatic life, but the aurak dwell in the deep sea, only comming to shallower waters to mate and reproduce.

The homeworld orbits a main sequence star, as a moon of a blue gas giant, roughly three times the size of jupiter, the moon is slightly larger then earth.

no other planets exist in the system, all bodies are either one of the 30 moons of the gas giant or a rock within the dense and thick asteroid belt between the planet and the star.

The Aurak are an isolationist society, having developed in the dark abyss of deep ocean, where abundant life is scarce they are not familiar with other life as much as an alien race on a rich world would develope on, they also dont trust the "air-suckers", races that breath air and live on land, the concept of terrestrial creatures being alien to them, they are a sapient species with limited art and culture.
They dont really have a religion, and generally seem an emotionless race.

Their government seems to basically be a council of 70 elders, oldest of their species, denoted by the red blotches that steadily appear over their back armour plating, and who have the largest gill frills on the side of their heads, which durring early adulthood are small and almost un-noticable.
Their society doesnt seem too factionalised, and disputes between members of the council are rare...mainly because there never seems to be anything that gets the Aurak worked up over, the council's only job is to maintain what little of Aurak society needs maintaining, and generally running any species wide affairs that emerge.

The aurak have developed space faring technologies, but technology seems generally abscent from common Aurak life, the Aurak only have one city, in an ocean trench, where the technology and culture of this species occurs, the rest of aurak live in their natural habitation, only building coral shelters in small groups.

The space faring technology is only used for defence of the system from other races and the Aurak rarely venture beyond it, but no alien race is permitted within their system and will be assaulted vigourosly if they break the perimeter of Aurak system space.

The Aurak reproduce by mating ritual within the costal shallows, they will all meet, and females choose a mate by how well he can change his skin pigmentation in a courtship display, they them grasp front tenticles, the female releases her eggs and the male releases his sperm.
Any fertilised eggs will drift with the current out to the ocean and slowly sink, and develope into a larvea, picking off dead animal material from the ocean floor, or feeding on plankton like creatures on the way down.
Once they reach adulthood, they will join up with a troop of Aurak, and actively predate on small ocean creatures that dwell in the depths.

I present the Kraakikoka.

These inseco-reptilian creatures Homeworld is a densly forested world, a think wide belt of tropical jungle around the equator, temperate forest in the temperate regions, and pine forest in the artic regions.
Their Sun is a normal medium star, their homeworld has a volcanic main moon, and 2 large asteroid moons.
The Kraakikoka were the result of a long lost alien races genetic engineering upon their more primitive form, but unlike other species, the altering aliens made their presence and work common knowledge to their creations, and the Kraak have always known of their origins, infact they celebrate it, not seeing themselves as artificial or some-how lesser then naturally evolved races, they see it as a gift of highly advanced and compassionate species that lifted their ancestors from the dead-end of a barbaric and ultimate dead-end predatory and un-intelligent race.

there are but two oceans on Kraakkri and one vast single continent streaching from pole to pole, studded with many lakes and rivers.

Their culture is highly social and tribalised, though little war occurs, they prefer the tropical jungle regions most and despite their fearsome appearance, they are highly intelligent creatures that enjoy biology and life, their geneticists are in demand the galaxy over, gardeners and animal breeders of their species are also appriciated, its not entire so much they love life and respect it, simply they love the biology of it, photo-imagery of microbial life is valued as high-art, researching genetics and studying life is a big turn on for them, but if life must die inm the persuit of biological science then so be it, fortunately its only rare cases this occurs and they respect life enough to let it prosper rather then falter, their space of control is filled with 15 zoo planets alone within their homeworld sphere of influence, all terraformed for particular habitats, such as artic or desert.

Their religion is based around the number 3, a trinity, perhaps this is no suprise since they believe that their creatiors made them perfect examples of his work (because they have 3 eyes, 3 legs, 3 arms, so they saw a pattern) likewise, the number 4 is dispised, they have never had much love for their four legged or four anythinged neighbours.
Their creators dissappeared from the galaxy a long time ago, before the time when the only recorded history was the plastio-ceramite orb-monument now at the very centre of their capital city, kraakakakreee, erected by the long lost creators.

Since this time the kraak have endevoured to study nature and biology as the road to enlightenment and ascension, in the footsteps of their creators who they believe had descovered the path, and so passed on these lessons ultimately via genetic tampering to other races they thought had the promise to understand the meaning of life.

they believe ultimately they will acheive what their creators did and join them in a paradise of life, another plain of existance where the energy of life itself flows as a tangible force, like rushing water.

their history is a quiet affair, few wars have occured, the knowledge of their shared heritage and creation means they have never needed to fight over creation myths or religion, kraak wars can best be described by human terms as small skirmishes.

A vestige of their pre-tampered genetic past means they still eat meat (though they've taknig to being omnivorous) and one of their own social cultural rituals which can be considored not intentional of their creators work, is the hunt, zoo planets serve as much as a hunting ground as much as nature reserves, and every kraak male on his 40th birthday must make a lone kill, with only his father along as a guide, to be considored a fully-mature male.

The Kraak life-span is around 270 years (their pre-tamper form was 12) and though they have the genetic technology to increase that to 500, they so far have refrained from doing this, as the majority of kraak believe that they should not themselves tamper with their genetic coding, which is considored as sacred and holy as the central orb monument or other descovered creator artifacts.

There is though a small community of kraak who believe they have earned the right to take the creators place as masters of the code, but this is still a highly taboo opinion and this small group generally resides in isolated locations of the homeworld or colonies far from main settlements.

Another minority though a bit larger then the code-manipulator faction, are the nomad kraakokokra, their journey is to attach to their natural roots and nature in general...they too like all kraak worship the creators and thank them for their gifts, but they seek to still connect to the sole of their pre-tamper past, not so much the unintelligent savagaery, rather the wild and they argue, noble soul of their wild ancestors, they embrace the tribal system the most, and generally reject technology, the only technology they use really is a few transport ships for tribes and groups to move to other worlds, a even fewer live upon these vessels ans embrace nomad life to the ultimate....travelling space endlessly.

Kraak space is small compared to the major races, and generally alien minorities within their borders are small affairs, either workers for careers kraak least enjoy, or isolationist immigrant neighbourhoods/settlements, the ViS are the most highly respected of aliens to the kraak, they recognise the ViS love of order, and though kraak are more emotional, they see the ViS as kind of cousins in the persuit of order, as the kraak study the genetic code, the ViS study the code of organization, something mastering genetics is heavy in.

The ViS even have a small neighbourhood within the main city, mainly populated by ViS administration staff and their families, ViS workers work within the kraak local area government administration departments, and in many genetic research facilities, where once broken, the newly researched genetic codes are catalogued and organised into the great bio-database.

Infact in the central genetic library, with genetic samples of all life encountered so far, out of every 5 workers there, there is 2 ViS.

There is a single research facility on the ViS homeworld, entirely staffed by kraak, who study and catalogue the rich aquatic ViS life, for the ViS government, and for the central genetic library back home, the facility houses a sheltered boat-house with a grav-ship to explore the oceans, which carry's two deep-sea manned prode-subs.

The kraak's favorate food is a small gecko like lizard called a okrakruu, they have a habit of escaping from confinement easily though, which can annoy cafeteria's stocknig supplies for any kraak customers, and an amphibian called a krokaa.

Kraak architecture and vehicle design is general big on orb like components and things that come in 3, only the most poorest kraak would live in a 4 sided home.
