Site News / How reliable is this server!
« on: January 23, 2007, 11:54:20 pm »
My ISP's DNS server is always crapping up on me, I can't access any website or anything with its domain name. But for some crazy reason, Gaming Steve is an exception. Everything else I need an IP address for if I want to access it. Seriously, is there any reason why is special?? lol. It would be great to know, I'd make sure all my future websites /domains include whatever it is.

Oh, some good advice: stay away from iPrimus ;)

PC Games / Crysis vs Real Life

So games dont look just like real life yet, but look how close they're getting! Crysis, imo,  looks better than any pre-rendered engine I've seen yet..

It's seriously unbelievable, I'm still in shock! (96KB)

I wont say what it is exactly, or it would spoil the amazing-ness :P well somewhat anyway..

And no, this isnt shameless advertising or some attempt at spreading a virus  ;)

PC Games / Core 2 and AM2
« on: July 07, 2006, 11:54:22 am »
I've had Socket A for about 5 years now, and I've held off PCI-Ex, DDR2, SSE2+, 64bit, and Dual Core until now. By the looks of things, Intel will beat AMD hands down when they release Core 2. I've looked at the benchmarks, and it looks like their Mid-Range CPU's will over-power the most expensive AMD chips by a lot. But what will AMD do to counteract this? From the looks of things, I'm definatley going back to Intel, unless AMD does something major like huge, competetive price drops.

What's your opinions on this? Who is considering getting AM2 even after Core 2 is released?

PS. No fanboyism, take my consideration of switching to Intel after 5 years as an example :P

Portable Games / PSOne games on your PSP
« on: May 09, 2006, 11:57:46 am »
At E3 it was announced that you will be able to download PSOne games to your PSP and play them using a Sony developed emulator.

What games are you looking forward relive on the handheld?

I'm currently thinking of:
  • Medal Gear Solid
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Vagrant Story - Never played this at all, looks alright

Also I wonder how L2 and R2 or L1 and R1 will work... the PSP doesnt have all of the controls found on the standard PSX controller, let alone the Dual Shock... hmm

Is it me, or has the website been down all day? I cant even access it through Google using their language service. Odd.

Podcasts / Games to see at E3
« on: April 26, 2006, 06:17:03 am »
In Episode 49, Steve asked us to say what we were interested in hearing about at E3. So what games are we interested in?

Personally I'm most interested in seeing CrySIS, CryTeks next game, and it looks truly awesome, the graphics (!), the gameplay, and even the music were very nicely done in the video footage shown at GDC.

E3 is on, and I'm pretty sure Steve is there instead of browsing the forums :D, so I've decided to lock this thread
