Spore: General / Poll: Which editor would you *want* released?
« on: March 30, 2006, 08:30:27 am »
Was just thinking about this in the editor thread . . . if you could decide which editor they were going to release (if they do) which one would you want? And why?

This isn't a question of which makes the most buisiness/game sense or which would be the most feasible - this is which would you want?

Spore: General / Spore Scenarios? (Think Godzilla attack)
« on: March 24, 2006, 10:22:39 am »
I'm sure we all remember the protect Tokyo from Godzilla scenario from SimCity, does anyone think there will be scenarios in this game?  I can think of a few that would be kinda neat. . . .

- Bring a terribly maladapted creature to sentience
- Protect your Creature/Tribe/City from an extraterrestrial attack
(I know they said this would not happen in the main game, but it could be allowed in a scenario type . . . )
- Bring a species to sentience and success despite another creature on you planet already having reached city/civ stage
- Survive abduction and transport to an interstellar zoo or arena planet
- Broker peace between an Anarchic galaxy

These would provide a cool way to "jump into" the game at a stage if you just wanted to do a sort of quick play. Does anyone else have any they'd think were neat?

I apologize for a second topic on this, but the first thread got caught up in making the links/downloads work.
Download thread is: here

But I thought the following was especially interesting . . .

Quote
How are you going to find stuff in Spore?

Buddy Lists
Style Groups
Collaborative Filtering
Store, find, sort, annotate

So we'll be able to put Forum-mates on a buddy list in game!

and . . .

Go ahead…Ask me anything. . .
and no… I don’t know when we’re shipping…

Fssshhhhh.

And although I haven't drawn any sans optics, I have put together a few sketches for the underrepresented aquatic stage. I'm only the barest novice with drawing - my starting was a direct result of the many talented individuals on these boards coming up with such incredible creatures and illustrations. So without futher ado, I present the aquatic stages of a few of my creatures.

First, the Occhende - a predator/scavenger

Next, the Guld - a drifter scavenger

Followed by the Drek - an efficient predator

And finally, the Globus - a decidedly herbivorous slowpoke

In case anyone's interested, a few of these are further evolved (though more crudely drawn) in my albumn on Hydro's (thankyouthankyouthankyou) site:

P.S. is there a way to resize these so they aren't so huge?
