There's a new one this week:

9:30pm 2006-03-02    ALL NEW!

Dunder Mifflin salesman of the year Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) must somehow conquer his fear of public speaking for the big convention and turns for help to the worst possible teacher, Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell). As Pam (Jenna Fischer) becomes increasingly consumed with her wedding plans, Jim (John Krasinski) plans his escape from Scranton. B.J. Novak, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez and Phyllis Smith also star. TV-14

this looks like its gonna be a good one then, cuz anything with dwight in it is usually really funny, and great avatar btw

A quick way to calibrate people's tastes on here and maybe get some discussions going...

(I'll answer separately so it's easier to cut and paste the questions)

1) First album you owned/purchased?
The Offspring - americana

2) Most recent album you purchased?
Eric Clapton collection

3) First live show?
Pittsburgh Blues Festival

4) Most recent live show?
X-Fest- Featuring Disturbed

5) Most overrated musician?
any recent rap "artist"

6) Most underrated musician?
Stevie Ray Vaughan (for this generation)

7) What's your musical guilty pleasure (i.e. name a musician/group that your gut tells you you shouldn't like, but you do anyway)?
Ted Nugent

8 ) Let's say you could go back in time and bring any one dead musician into present times? Who would you pick?
Stevie Ray Vaughan, he kicked his drug addiction then died in a helicopter crash a year later

9) What's your poster-child "band that broke up too soon"?
Rage against the machine, as much as i like audioslave i wish i could've seen these guys live

10) Pick your dream band -- at the very least, vocalist, guitar, bass, drums. If you want to include a second guitarist, keyboards, theremin, lute, xylophone, whatnot... live it up, but you gotta start with the basics.
vocals- jim morrison; Guitar- stevie ray; bass- flea; drums- the guy from rush

11) Name one cover version of a song that whups the ass of the original.
stevie ray vaughan- little wing

12) Speaking of covers, name a song that always struck you as a great song if done by someone else.
john lee hooker- boom boom
13) Pick a dream collaboration, i.e. artist A working with artist B.
see # 10

14) Best album cover art? (No Spinal Tap references)
The Deep End, Vol. 2
15) Fat Elvis or skinny Elvis?
skinny, fat elvis isn't really the same guy

16) If all four Beatles were still alive, would they have cashed in on a Millenium reunion concert?
no, they would be too busy ruling the world

17) Will there EVER be a more unrealistic movie moment than Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees beating up Aerosmith in the "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" movie?
yes... assault on precinct 13 (i was over-ruled)

18) Bono has been mentioned as a candidate to head the World Bank. Would you let Bono manage YOUR finances?

19) Would you let MC Hammer manage your finances?
only if it was opposite day

20) Lastly, the infamous "desert island" question -- pick five CDs you'd take with you to a desert island. To add to degree of difficulty, no Greatest Hits allowed.
red hot chili peppers- live in hyde park
jimi hendrix- electric lady land
neil young- freedom
prince- musicology
eric clapton- Me & Mr. Johnson

Podcasts / Re: Retro reviews
« on: February 26, 2006, 09:05:47 pm »
i think that once final fantasy 12 comes out you should retro-review anything from final fantasy 7-9 because their old and good enough to review and you can still play them on the ps2 and new gamers who get into ffXII might want to what the past 11 games were like

Ocarina. And for only a year and a half now. Still no good, I can barely do the Temple of Time song.
lol, i still remembered how to call epona after 4 years of not playin the game, but to get back on topic, i've been playin the guitar and the harmonica for about 2 years

the new red hot chili peppers album comes out in may. the peppers are my favorite band so i've been following them for a while and this new album supposed to be 2 discs and will really show off the talent of their guitarist with plenty of solos, which i'm glad to see because so many bands shy away from them nowdays
