Site News / Re: Steve's birthday this Thursday!

Steve's birthday will be this Thursday. Happy birthday!

I say for a present, we all make a mental note to click his adsense links more often. But not excessively, that will get his account banned.

I guess Steve will have to delete the emphasized text when he come back, i use Adsense in all of my blogs, have read their TOS, and trust me these guys are tough on this, even if you don't encourage visitors clicking, you may not allow any kind of this enocuragement in your site and do your utmost to delete it.

Personally, i'd pay for Steve's podcasts..but i beilive that by doing the quoted suggestion we're only harming him.

You ought to get a re-fund upon faulty products if you explain kindly and have kept the receipt.  Maybe take a screenshot and print it for them if they are being really stingy.

Sometimes i'm just so glad my uncle chose law over medicine  ;)

Alternatively there must be something wrong with your discs. ;)

And do you think that if i get them back to the store i'll get good ones? look at this:

Returned the cd's and got another set, also brown, same problem.....

Now this is how my discs look like:

rediculous...

Guys, i just bought Wow, and i'm in the installing proccess, it has been about 15 minutes now, but the installation proccess is still on the disc 2, installing this componet: model.MPQ, as you can guess, the PC is running fine and it seems that the CD ROM is reading from the disc, does this componet take that long to get installed?

thanks
Heat

And yes, a lot of the models/terrain files take ages to install.  I wouldn't worry about it.

And how about them taking more than 20 minutes without moving abit?

How about this page??

http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-tech-support-en&t=58608&p=1&tmp=1#post58608

6 pages of production faliure, read a couple and you'll realize what i'm talking about.

This is a scandolous issue:

The problem lies with the discs you have.
I had the same problem with my discs, a freeze on installation.....
Got me a copy of the failing cd, and the game installed flawlessly.
I seriously think there is a problem with the cd production.
The cd's with a brown back color seem to have all these problems......so check the back of youre wow cd's.
Brown? .......get yourselve a copy of the mpq from the failing cd or return the game......the cd's are the problem!!!
The wow cd's with a goldish/blanc color just install fine.
I did not get my brown cd's to work on 5 pc's, so its not all the pc's its the cd's!!
Returned the cd's and got another set, also brown, same problem.....
A m8 bought the game, brown cd's.....guess what....same problem , i made a copy for him, installed flawlessly ;)
Agian , i think it is a production error of some kind from blizzard side....
I hope this solves all problems related to this topic ;) .

Now how redicolous does this sound? very redicolous, the color determines the content..

But it's true, Disc numer #1 of the 4 was gold/blanc, worked just fine, the three others are "brownies"....couldn't do anything with them.

Blizzard offered copying the CDs to your harddrive and installing the game directly from there would be a good idea in case of installation issues (see link above), while i successfully copied the goldie #1 CD, Discs 2,3,4 didn't copy to the harddrive....

Some of you might say it's a very pathetic explanation of the problem, some of you might think it's just a coincidence, i say it's one of the most bizarre production faliures ever.

So basically after you reach level 60, you can't go down anymore? you're one of the strongest....because death doesn't take any points from you, it seems like the game gets...somewhat unchallenging after a while..

Well if you like to die alot, play PvP. If you like to roleplay, chose an RP server. I play on PvE, can pvp when I want to in the battlegrounds, and im not to good at rp

Yeah, but what is the difference between Normal and RP ?

Thanks :)
Heat

Exactly the same, just in the RP realms you HAVE to stay in character while talking in general chat and i think in groups as well.  Basically, you have to pretend to actually be your character when you play at all times unless you are private messaging each other.

Oh, now i see....and which would a beginner like me prefer?
