What is wrong with the world.

Now tell the truth, is this a personal crazy thing that you people are doing, or do you guys actually say you are going to play with Jim when you get home?

Course I have living pets, so I guess I don't get that lonely or something.

Personification is brilliant, it is the basis of our entire society and defines our very existence. Inanimate objects become like living creatures in our minds. I genuinely felt sad when my Xbox 360s have had the red ring of death, not just on a personal level, but I felt sorry for the 360 itself. Hopefully Whitey won't get the RROD for a while, I'll miss him :(

I'm playing this right now, and I have to say this is highly interesting, as well as being highly addictive and extremely difficult. My full views will be unveiled in my review for the Gaming Steve front page in a few days. What does everyone else think of this game?

I've been playing this too, it's delicious. There will be a review of the game on the Gaming Steve front page within the week or so, but I am also playing the intoxicating Professor Layton and the Curious Village on my DS too, so there might be some delay depending on how well I can solve these bizarre puzzles and continue to get deeper into the Patapon beat. You could test free loader, and write about that :P

I would do, but my personal funds are looking quite strained recently, and I plan on purchasing Bully (360), Vegas 2, Mario Kart Wii, and GTA IV in the space of two months, so to waste money on an unproven product would be dangerous.

Sorry for lack of updates on my end guys, I've been away at home celebrating my nan's 60th birthday, and thus haven't had much time to write. Hopefully tomorrow I can write my review of Professor Layton and the Curious Village on the DS and get that published, as well as cover any news stories that may crop up. Aside from that, does anyone have any recommendations of things they want me to look at? My rental copy of Burnout Paradise will arrive on Wednesday so I can do something on that, but I'm not sure if that's all old news these days. If anyone has any ideas for editorials or things they would like me to investigate or look into, I will take your ideas on board, alongside some other things I already have planned. Just don't expect any Smash Bros coverage from me for a while, I live in PAL land and I'm still waiting for the Wii Freeloader to be tested before I order it and a US copy of Smash.

Well you only really need to add

as a friend (which you haven't done yet, I checked :P) and then you get all of us. So you don't have to do to much cutting down.

You shouldn't spy on contributors for the good of the empire! You will open Pandora's Box doing that kind of stuff. I will add it in a sec, just writing my next delicious piece of content.

Console Games / Re: Xbox Live Gamer Cards

Hey everyone, I've been a contributor for Gaming Steve for over a week or so now and I haven't been fired yet, so I thought I would chuck my Gamercard in this thread:

I'm very adaptable really, walking that fine line between "normal" gamer and that of "semi-pro". However, for me, it's all about generating a great experience. For example, in one match in Battlefield Modern Combat, me and my friend didn't care about the score, but we did care about stealing the other team's helicopter from right under their very noses. He would sit in the hills and provide cover with the trusty sniper rifle, while I would run in on foot, grab the chopper, and extract him. I crave this kind of freedom from the games I buy and play.

I'll join in on this with you guys, I can unveil the 4th wall that contributing to the site brings, and talk to you about the true man behind the curtain. Going to have to cut my friends list down a bit though, it's looking frightfully full.

I was poor, so I only had a Game Boy Camera. That thing was really awesome, like a forerunner to digital cameras today. I just used to go up to my friends, take a snap, then go about turning their face into art akin to Picasso. The results were not pleasant. I think mine is hidden away back home somewhere with both my poor GBA and my even poorer Game Boy. Those were much simpler times.

I don't name my consoles either.

Do you have some system for deciding the names of your consoles or do they just pop into your head. I ask because I just started at my Wii for half a minute trying to think of a name and all I could come up with was 'Wiilliam' which as a name is a crime against nature..

Well I'm pretty creative, and sometimes my mind wonders off when I'm doing something, and it just comes into my head that this console is called "Jim" for example. I think it's interesting as pets are on the decline, and gaming systems and technology in general are gaining in popularity, but there are some people like me who are filling the personification void between a living creature and the things that have replaced them.

Console Games / Do you name your consoles?
« on: February 14, 2008, 02:39:52 pm »
I have a strong attachment to my consoles for both entertainment and analytical purposes, so they end up having their own names and identities. My long-suffering 360 is called "Whitey", my DS is called "Jim", my PSP is called "Captain", and my Wii is named "John". Has anyone else named their consoles or am I just living a mad existence beyond your comprehension?

Jim opens the present to discover it's a portal to another dimension where he can see the man behind the curtain for approximately 108 minutes, but after 4 minutes he gets bored and launches into an attack of epic proportions leaving the robot in a huge mess on the floor, but it's magical and brings itself back to life in a blaze of technicolour glory.

Looks like Halo 3 won. So to recap, we'll be meeting up in Halo 3, this Saturday (Feb. 16th) between the times 8pm(GMT) - 12am(GMT). See you there!

Damn I would've liked to play with you guys but I'm away paintballing this weekend (going to put it in an article as well as have fun), is there anything going on next week? My 360's just come back from repair, and as a new contributor to the site I feel I have an obligation to destroy some of you on the vivacious battlefields of Live.
