Well, I've installed DirectX 9 and the latest drivers, but I still have the same problem.

Think you have problems? After installation I can't even open the thing. I get an error message saying:

"Could not create the Graphics Device. Direct X is unavailable. [1002]"

Any ideas?

Command & Conquer, the first one. I never finished the campaign when it was reasonably new, so now I'm trying.

I've got this, bought it when it came out I think. It is a lot of fun, especially combining weird things like polar bear and praying mantis. And those little guys who fly around in helicopters were quite humorous. I never managed to get the insect expansion though, it wouldnt install properly.

Spore: General / Re: Theme Songs

Yeah, I vaguely recall this but who cares. I think it would be pretty cool to have your own custom theme song, but I'm not sure at what point it could be implemented. It would make sense if you encountered a creature and they had a theme song, but a theme song for your own species would not really fit. After all, you don't meet yourself.

The topic has ... changed. Anyway, as I said in the topic which is now this one, I predict a slow dry up of posts in the spore section, apart from stories about peoples experiences and found secrets. As for the rest of the forum, I don't really think it will be affected a great deal apart from perhaps fewer new members. I predict that the spore forum will revert to its form before the - whatever people call it - influx of new members a while ago.

I have a feeling there will be a decline in activity, reverting to how it was when I joined in early 2006. I think after people have the game there will be less need to talk about it, apart from sharing stories and cool things people find. Then again there could be a brief lull in activity, as people actually play the game, followed by an explosion of new topics.

I think all the stages have changed largely for the better save the creature stage. I feel the more realistic look was the better one , although the more recent look is more visually grabbing. I do like the new cell stage especially, and the space stage also looks equally as good if not better.

DAMN!!! Why did this happen??

Anyway the gist of what I said is as follows (or at least this is what I vaguely remember, old one was better):

Space marines would logicly get devestators
I have two ideas going through my mind. Either the devestator squads, or bikes. Bikes would make sense because they are quite a common unit, as in you see a lot of them around. However they would serve a very similar role to landspeeders so devestators seem more likely. I assume they would fuction in a similar way to Imperial Guard heavy weapons teams, laying down fire from afar.

Yes, after watching the video they don't seem .... woody. They seem to have some flexibility, but that must be a real pain in the arse. He says that they are 'heavy', but do they hurt, are they sensitive to touch? Do they have nerves?

I haven't watched the video, picture were enough. But what are those growths actually made out of? His skin?
