Unfortunately Spore has become another Black and White 2 if not something worse.

I don't blame Chris Hecker but rather the entire development team and most of all EA, the cancerous, all consuming corporate gaming giant.

Independent gaming companies once produced quality and original products, the days of such are dieing.

It all started with Maxis being consumed in a hostile takeover. Since then, I've watched the amazing original titles once produced by maxis, slowly be twisted, beaten and reshaped into money makers for EA.

Maxis is dead.
We're not going to see anything like a proper SimCity 5 or anything else resembling Sim Earth or Sim Life.

I buy very few video games, I do however download many pirated games each month, for me few are worth purchasing anymore, but Spore I was going to buy.

Spore had so much potential, Spore was supposed to be revolutionary, Spore was supposed to be SimEverything, Spore should have defined the next generation of gaming, moving away from the standard formula of developers laboring away in studios creating content. Players would become the content creators. This is what Spore was supposed to be, this was Will Wright's dream and masterpiece.

The Spore we received is an unspeakable insult to Will Wright's original idea. I truly feel sorry WW, forced to watch his dream morph into a nightmare, his masterpiece of originality sculpted into a common piece of trash for maximum profitability. I realise nothing is perfect and I don't damand that but what EA has done here and to many other titles and will continue to do, is unforgivable.

I will never support EA by purchasing their games and until they release quality, original products I will continue to boycott them and any other corporation releasing the same trash year after year. I'm certainly not satisfied with what Spore is now and voting with our money is the only language corporations like EA understand.

Saying CNN and the other mainstream media outlets reports the news accurately, would be lying. I know the interview you speak of, I just watched it and all I can say is what obvious pro-war propaganda it is. ::)

To elaborate further what guarantee is there, the translation is accurate and not being manipulated in anyway?

Here's why I question the accuracy of the interview:

If you can recall CNN reported on President Ahmadinejad's speech calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map" which was proven to be a total lie and in no way accurate to what he actually said in the speech he made. or google it for many other alternative media reports.

The idea that Iran has nuclear weapons of any kind or weapons grade plutonium is another lie. It's just more pro-war propaganda for the ignorant public to hungrily consume. another article exposing more lies.

Did CNN report on these obvious truths? No, to do so would be contrary to the purpose of CNN.

The rabit hole is deep, but at the end lies truth and freedom.

I just came across Spore on a torrent website. I'm downloading it as I write this. I didn't read the other posts but the pirated version is single-player offline only, for obvious reasons.

I really hate EA, but because this is Will Wright doing this and not a cash cow(yet) like TS2 I'll purchase the actual game when it's in stores.

A pirated Spore has been expected as was retail outlets selling the game early.

I don't think "titan" sized creatures will be included in the released game, however that being said I know for certain it will be modded(see after release. In regards to limiting creature size from generation to generation it seems logical it would be done through the amount of evo points available or through some other system so as to avoid being completely unrealistic.

If you don't support EA's actions don't purchase their products, it's that simple.

Spore: General / Re: Making Planets/ Stars
« on: February 24, 2007, 04:42:44 pm »
There is no reason why this wouldn't be included. Higher technology levels mean more customization options. An example:

-Interplanetary Tech Level
     *Minor planetary modification

-Interstellar Tech Level
     *Advanced planetary modification
     *Planetary destruction
*Planets converted to asteroid belts and vice versa

-Galactic God Tech Level
     *Stellar destruction/creation
*Stars converted to nebula or black holes via atificial super nova
*Nebula converted to Stars and Planets

To not have these particular features, defeats the purpose of the game existing.

On a side note, believing in psychic abilities requires some faith as there is very little public scientific evidence to prove they infact do exist, although It has been researched to an extent for decades by governments and other organizations.

Citation. Kk Thx Bye!

You have a better chance at proving eggs come from rabbits than proving in a real psychic ability.

Do not ask me to verify/prove this or to relate any of my psychic experiences.

I am not here to prove that psychic abilties exist, being psychic I do not have to, I know they do. See above. This is my opinion and that was yours.

I, myself, have psychic abilities and would like to see this in Spore. Do not ask me to verify/prove this or to relate any of my psychic experiences. On a side note, believing in psychic abilities requires some faith as there is very little public scientific evidence to prove they infact do exist, although It has been researched to an extent for decades by governments and other organizations. To put it simply mankind is not at the level of technological and spiritual levels needed to fully develope and utilize all of our brain and thus tap into the "Psychic Area" and this is the reason there are very few psychics in the population as only the gifted can manifest these abilities at our developement level as opposed to everyone if mankind were advanced enough.

Spore: General / Re: Has waiting for Spore lost its spark?
« on: November 05, 2006, 05:38:43 pm »
Well it seems as if Spore is becoming another Black and White2, but there's still lots of time before it comes out so I wouldn't worry about how much EA has twisted Spore until the final product is released. Let's just all hope for the best and not think about that scenario though.

Frankly, I'm sick and tired of everyone going "Stop asking for it to come out soon. The longer you wait the better it will be.". If you watched the '05 videos, you could tell that at that time at least all of the asthetics was done (Textures etc.). Watching the '06 videos you can tell that the game is essentially done, just with a few bugs in the creature editor. Don't say otherwise, you know it as well as I do. Frankly, I don't think we need to wait any longer, as Spore is already done. Will is probably just waiting for the ESRB to rate the game, which with the whole "online without multiplayer" thing might take a while. But yeah. The game is done. Stop telling us to wait longer as that would make it better. The game is already as good as it probably can get. If it's not, that's what expansion packs are for. So stop yelling at people who want it out sooner by saying "The longer you wait the better it will be.". Thank you.

Rushing Spore just because impatiant people want play it would be a bad thing. Do you want another Black and White 2 ? If EA rushes Spore then that's what it will become. Lots people can't wait for Spore to come out and I'm one of them but have a little patiance and although it would have been nice if Spore could have come out at Christmas it isn't going to happen. I don't want EA to rush Spore, I dont't want another Black and White 2, not that it might not turn out that way from EA's greed. Sit back and busy yourself until Spore is released because rants demanding the gameá and lame petitions accomplish nothing but waste space when something more intelligent could take it's place.

Spore is turning out to be another BnW2, with the underwater civ's being unconfirmed now (expansion pack most likely) it seems just as with BnW2 those bastards at EA have ruined yet another potentially great game. Spore is taking the exact same path BnW2 has with featuring being left out that seem to make the game merely marginal and then including them in a separate expansion pack you have to spend more money on. Who I truly feel sorry for is Will Wright for seeing his greatest creation warped into an insult as BnW2 is. It's the greed and money lust by those that run EA that have done this and it only further shows how horrible of a company EA is.

Spore: General / Re: Procedural Pooping
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:54:03 am »
This would be funny to see in the game, however I don't think it Will be a matter of choosing a part for it, most likely it will be procedurally generated as walking, dancing or mating is. It would be rather unnecessary if the player had to choose a location for the creature's anus and to avoid people making creatures with an absurd amount of anuses or genitalia on their creature its likely they will not include an actual part the same way there are no genitalia.

Spore: General / Re: colonise moving asteroids?
« on: July 04, 2006, 03:35:19 pm »
This would be great to have in Spore, the idea reminds me of a PC game called Fragile Allegiance (awesome game) where you built and managed colonies on asteroids, Professor Pendragon hit it right on the spot with his/her description. Those flaming: not everyone speaks fluent English so have a little respect and tolerance of that. I fully understood what he was saying and commenting on his spelling and grammer mistakes and calling someone a "moron" contributes nothing to this discussion.

Everything Else / Re: Psychics.

I happen to be psychic or at least used to be, I won't go into details but degrees of psychic abilities exist with individuals excelling in specific areas. There are the people with real psychic abilities and then there are the people who only claim to be psychic. The ones that only claim to be but aren't are the ones who have made real psychics into a joke.

Everything Else / Re: Dreams
« on: June 20, 2006, 11:34:54 pm »
I have a recurring dream that varies but is always the same theme. I dream that the area where I live is about to or has been hit by a nuclear attack and in a feeble attempt to escape it I go and hide in my crawl space, at this point if I don't survive I wake up, if I do I emerge from my crawl space to see only to see my neighborhood in ruins and on fire and then the dream ends. This is of course the subconscious representation of my greatest fear, nuclear war. I would go crazy if I had to think about it every waking hour which is why I shove it into the back of my head hoping to forget about such horrors until it re-emerges once again in my dreams.
