Its a worthy successor to DotA I think. They have actually tried take the game forward with gameplay changes and the modern network setup.

Yep. I even had to look up the wiki to see if the stone I used to be able to use in previous version had changed properties. It was all stone of different types some of them like diorite and gabbro.

Decided to try the new version out after a long hiatus from playing but what I can only assume to be a bug has made it unplayable. Mason workshop doesn't work. Regardless of the amount of stone and how near it is to the workshop the tasks assigned will cancel due to a lack of non-economic stone. I never saw this playing the versions from a year ago. Unless there is some kind of new required step of allowing the use of the stone I mine just by carving out my fort this must be one of the random bugs I hear about. I have downloaded from two different mirrors to the same effect.  :'(

All hail the Hypnotoad!

I was going to just give up on Civ but these big changes have me interested in the new title. Hope to see more good news come from this. I always like the crazy situations with modernized Aztecs or Romans.

Why are stimulants and drugs prohibited? What part of scripture or doctrine does this come from? If any use of them is prohibited why do these things exist at all?

These time travel stories always seem to cheapen the shows. What basically happened was that the team we have been following was completely wiped out and we are now watching the exploits of an alternate reality team. Also what are the chances of every single team the SG series has follow has time traveled makes it even more cliche since every sci-fi show has time travel plots then they totally forget about them.

The only show I ever saw pull a time travel story off and follow through was Star Trek TNG where the result of a alternative reality member of the crew going back in time had offspring that became a Romulan menace later on.

What episode are you talking about? There are a ton of well done Time Travel episodes in Star Trek, especially TNG, but granted there are many many more bad ones than good ones. Still, the series finally of TNG (while not 'TECHNICALLY' a time-travel story) is one of the best stories I've seen along those lines. Still.. there are plenty of bad stories as well. What about the story involving the Enterprise-C? That one was particularly well crafted.

Yes I referring to the story that start with the episode Yesterday's Enterprise. You are right though there are plenty of interesting standalone stories out there especially in Star Trek its just that they forgot all that stuff ever happened after that episode and the rules for time travel tend to change from episode to episode.

Yeah its too bad Hollywood doesn't take risks with that kind of sci-fi as much anymore. Moon was a good example of them taking a simple idea and working a near future scenario into it. The tech feels just right and not crazy fantasy tech like in stuff like Star Trek.

Yeah if I remember correctly Battle of Terra didn't do well with critics or the box office.

As soon as I saw the trailer for this I didn't see why there had been so much hype about the visual effects. They reminded me of the Final Fantasy movie. The plot immediately looked like a joke. How many times does Hollywood think it can tell that same story only now with crappy sci-fi. My thoughts on Avatar are summarized by last weeks episode of South Park called Dances with Smurfs.

Ozymandias is explained as the perfect human specimen in the comics. So as the others said he was better than any of them by a mile due to his intellect and physical prowess. Keep in mind that the only character in the movie that is superhuman is Doctor Manhattan. The rest of the cast are regular humans, the vigilantes just happened to be well trained.

I have never played any of those other games you all have mentioned but I did play Knights of Honor.  Back when I played it the game had all I  was looking for. I could pick any nation that existed at the time periods and was able to win a campaign using the various win scenarios.
