If EA really is as evil as everyone says they are, I can see them suing each and every business that broke the street date, which subsequently lead to the game being cracked before it was even supposed to be out.  I would also like to know the circumstances surrounding their deal with SecuROM.  Would they be in a position to sue them as well, since their product was cracked so easily?  EA will still make loads of money off this game, and I would think that they could use a fraction of it towards all of these legal issues. But I especially see them going after the downloaders most.  Because you know, EA is evil.

And you can argue the legality of downloading games/cracks all day long, but if you get caught and are sued, there really isn't anything you can do.  You can either settle with them, or fight an uphill battle and pay the court fees, on top of even heftier fines if you lose.  Sure, the chances of them finding YOU and suing YOU are slim, but it still happens.  Just a few weeks ago, 25,000 downloaders were sued for 300.  One woman tried to fight it and ended up losing and being fined 16,000 instead.  It doesn't matter if the games industry is evil, or if the unemployed woman just downloaded one 10 game.  The law is on the industry's side.

here in the US the law isnt ALWAYS on the side of industry... recently a woman got a large settlement (somewhere in the 8 digit range ) for when the riaa sued her using evidence they got illegally.. aka hacking into her computer.. ill look for a link...

Well heres a link to an earlier article regarding it... cant find one for the results but i remember seeing it in my local newsprint...

but is the online aspect really THAT important? so what you get to see a bit more diversity (understatement) in the creatures, but that will give you something to look forwared to on the way home with that special little box... i personally preordered and am in the process of obtaining the game...

thats a good idea and this is all really off topic but there are some good antispyware and antivirus softwares that are free such as AVG free and spybot s&d which do just fine, i dont bother running a firewall other than the windows one because i use my router as a firewall, and i usually give my computer a fresh install of windows every month or two (i just set up an autoinstaller that puts all the programs i want on my fresh install...)

Dont be sad, you can download it if you've already paid for it... and the major copyright activist organizations cant even pay for their own lawyers and dont really bother with smaller claims...

Well there was 10 people seeding it at the time, and lots of DL of that, so I figured that was the right 1. It was probably the virus seeding its self.

why were you even torrenting norton antivirus? lol

Anyways, I guess you learned your lession, so I'm not going to push it into your face anymore.
lol at that, it IS pointless to torrent it, especially when you can just do some pirate magic with trials.

like i was saying you should read the comments, learn from other peoples experience, if someone gets a virus from the torrent usually they say so in the comment box (not that keygens sometimes appear as viruses but really arent, just because of the nature of the code, although there are many keygens that could carry a virus so remember to delete it if you download one)

Now when you say downloading software for an unkown source that is not what this is, this release is from a reputable source and uploaded by a reputable uploader, now if you were to download an antivirus software and get viruses maybe next time you should look at the comments on the torrent and at the other torrents that person has uploaded before trusting your computers security to a stranger... As far as allowing spore (and whatever might be in with it) to get past your firewall, why would you do that if you have no online capability with the cracked version? Thats just my 2 cents...
