Spore: General / Re: NEW spore patch. Start up your game to get it.

Thanks Maxis!

Where do we report bugs? I had a bug where near the beginning of the space game the crashed ship I was supposed to find dissapeared.

2
Simple question: What does the cheats menu (ctrl-shift-c) do in the full game?

3
Anyone try using cheats to get around this problem? I know there was a cheat menu in the CC.

 :o

Holy crap, the sweetest thing just happened on the stream- the guy tried to escape from some predators by gliding over a pond. He couldn't glide the whole way though, so he fell in the water and a giant green mouth came up out of the water and ate him.

Awesome, Time Traveller. Keep in mind that not everything contained in this data will necessarily make it into the final game, though.

Weapon List (SPOILERS)

Military:
1. The Napalm Strike is unlocked after capturing 3 Military cities. Deploying the Napalm Strike will send a small blast to the targeted area destroying everything in the area.
2. The Tactical Nuke is unlocked after capturing 5 Military cities. When deployed, the tactical nuke will detonate at the targeted area destroying everything in it's area, leaving nuclear fallout in it's wake. If used on cities, some building pads will suffer from nuclear fallout and not be usable.
3. The ICBM Strike becomes available after conquering 7 cities. Using the ICBM Strike will send nukes at all remaining nations on the globe, causing them to be destroyed and fall under your control.

Religious:
1. The Faith Heal is unlocked after capturing 3 Religious cities. You can use the Faith Heal on your own vehicles or buildings to heal all units in the area.
2. The Black Rain is unlocked after capturing 5 Religious cities. If you use Black Rain on a neighboring city, it will cause a large Black Storm to appear over the city, raining diseased creatures on their city. This causes extreme unhappiness making it easier to convert their city.
3. The Messianic Uprising is unlocked after capturing 7 cities. Launching the Messianic Uprising creates a large holographic image of your priests chanting over your city and sending your religion across the globes. Awestruck, all cities immediately convert to your nation.

Economical:
1. Bribe is unlocked after capturing 3 economic cities. Use Bribe on enemy vehicles causing them to temporarily attack other targets.
2. Ad Blitz is acquired after purchasing 5 economic cities. Use the Ad Blitz on neighboring cities, sending an ad campaign over their city that is irresistible. The targeted city will instantly become purchasable.
3. Major Merger is unlocked after capturing 7 economic cities. Launching the major merger sends a global ad campaign. All cities will be so enamored by your economic might, they will immediately merge with your nation.

Spore: General / Spoiler Data Hidden in Creature Creator
« on: June 27, 2008, 11:12:19 am »
This thread contains spoilers.

The user Gibbed at somethingawful.com extracted some hidden data from the Creature Creator. Some of it contains spoilers for the full game, including a list of the weapons you can get and info about the gRob. Keep in mind that some of this stuff might not make it into the final game.

Here's some of the image data:

The Maxis Lllama returns (along with Strongbad?)!

Here's a folder of all the text files:

I tried to make Krang from Ninja Turtles:

I'm gonna need a large version of that too. (like the others)

How do we make them save as big, again?

DaMuncha that Ninja Turtle is awesome, btw.

This is mostly a placeholder for now, but check out Jumpiphant, the elephant with an unfortunate trunk mutation (inspired by my brother):

More coming soon, but in the meantime all my stuff is on my sporepedia page is http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=usr-NightSky.

The scared animation never looks right for me, and sometimes the creatures limbs twist up really badly.

I noticed that adding small detail pieces to fat areas seems to make the animation less blobby.

People from somethingawful.com found that the creature data is actually encoded into the pixels of the png file.

Can you make pieces come off of decorations, like have a limb attached to a horn?
Limbs must be attached to the main body.

K, can you attach decorations to eachother?
