Spore: General / Re: Unique Actions

I think it would be interesting to go out and hunt for a certain species in the galaxy.
Think of it... the galaxy is really huge... maybe you can go on an intergalactic hunt for the weirdest flowering plants... ;)
Maybe a galactic quest for three-toed creatures... :P

Or maybe just make a zoo-planet of the most stupid creatures, of the mose special creatures, of the biggest creatures, etc  :)

Oh and here's a new idea: search for a 2 planet system (if they are in Spore), kidnap creatures from one planet, drop the unmodified versions of them on one planet, modify the rest with cybernetics, and drop those on the other planet (both planets have the same climate and atmosphere). Drop 2 monoliths so they reach sentence, and watch them interact.

Well, I'm thinking about a mamooth tank from C&C: Red Alert for my creatures (really big tank, 2 cannons, stinger and machinegun), and some walkers. I love walkers, I'll probably be making bipod and quadrupod mechs with rocket launchers. The bipods similarly to those in Starcraft, the quadrupods like the ones of the UCS in Earth 2160. Oh and those gliders from Starcraft. Gotta love ground combat ;D

What I'd really like to see would be cybernetic creatures to be used as vehicles. I'm thinking about something like modified whales or modified giant calmars that can carry weaponry and personal. I would build some of those too if it would be possible.

Since you consider games like that, you could qualify films only being long sequnecies of images ;)

I'll just make an anthropomorph creature living in very dark, gothic style buildings (like the old cathedrals) that'll ameliorate their bodies thanks to cybernetics, and will then conquer their home planet with their mechs and start many bloodfilled wars with other planets ;D If a planet is too hard to conquer, say hello to mr. sun :>

Nice huh? ;)

Spore: General / Re: Creatures You Don't Want To See

This is totally off topic, but it didn't warrant a new topic, so here goes:

Will you be able to sit back and watch a planet evolve before your eyes? Kind of like SimEarth, but not crappy?

I guess you can... Remember that in the tribal or in the civ stage, the creatures were acting idependtly, and Will said that you can drop creatures on a planet and come back later to see what happenned... So the answer is probably yes :)

That thing seriously looks like the drillers from the bad Matrix films (Parts 2 and 3) ;)
Except these are a heck of a lot smaller.  :)

Hehe :) But I think they will be possible, after all it's just a driller, some legs and a body. And it would be very strange to have no driller part in an editor for robots.

I really, Really, REALLY hope that the actual spore editor will be better than this.

Have you watched the video? It shows that there is far more than just pasting a few animal parts together, you have some general shapes and functional parts you can stick together, grow, rotate, etc. Same goes for the vehicle, hud, bulding and UFO editor :)

Just had a small idea that's bickering me now: will I be able to dig into the ground, let's say to construct a bunker or underground cities?

And also: will I be able to build space stations?

And lastly: what about asteroids? Will they be ingame, will I be able to use their resources or just to make a space station out of it?

This little bugger is designed specifically for attacking huge mechanical things:

The blue pads are it's feet made for stcking to machanical parts. The drill thing is design eat at the machanical circuits and wires. It is ahown at full size.

I seriously doubt it would be possible to make it in Spore.

These last two posts (including mine) are off topic.

Yep robotic parts will come with later technology as will robots  ;D

Great, can't wait to rule the galaxy with my Strogg cyborgs :>

I think he also said that you could upgrade other creatures with robotic parts (robots can be made), but I'm not sure about it. It'd sure be cool if so.

If you like Mafia-stories and GTA, I can recommend you the game Mafia. Good graphics, an amazing storyline, and very much atmosphere.
I also recommend you to patch it to version 1.2, in that version the race that was very hard in the original version is more balanced.

he goes after Sims 2, but not the Singles, that BMX game or God of War, the next thing you know he will go after that old SNES "Atari" game "custers revenge" (i think)... this guy is not even dumb... he's a joke.... he thinks that taking shots at video games will be good for his image.... G.D. moron,  lets see the news when little timmy guns him down!!  course they'd blame it on that game political machine, and bann it!

I think he doesn't go after them because they are already ratet AO. Plus, you only see the boobies, no sexual act, no genitals. That's why he doesn't matter.
Also, GTA and The Sims are targetting a larger clientbase.

But I never really understodd that rating system. I mean why the heck is a pair of breasts worse for the sake of a child than shooting someone with a pumpgun in the street?
It's just plain stupid.

In that line of stupidty fits an idea of some extremely christian women, that claims that pornography could damage your brain and should therefore be forbidden ( I'm sorry the article is just there in german).

Spore: General / Re: Destroying Planets
« on: July 23, 2005, 06:54:15 am »
Hmmmm yea i'd say my deal would have to be a big pool cue come out of my UFO and knock the planet into the sun or a black hole or another planet. THAT would be awesome.

Yeah, just being able to play cosmic billiard with planets would be a very nice way to destroy planets  ;D
