Maybe the cuteness determines what to fill your planet with? cute or not cute creatures?

WOOO! Whoever deekodotcom is just uploaded the Video onto in three parts:

Parts 1, 2, and 3 respectively:
just to let you know you put up part 2 twice :P
and omg, that video was sooooo good for info! ;D (the original worked for me)

good idea, this was already posted twice in other threads (first by me then by someone else) and got buried right away

So basically, the reason why this thread has grown 10 pages, since the last time I was here, is because people bring the same things up over and over again?
On a totally unrelated note, did anyone notice that little slider at the bottom of all the videos. I wonder what it's for...?

You're kidding, right?  (If not, just read back the last couple pages.)

191 Days, 8 Hours, 42 Minutes, 9 Seconds.

Edit:  (But to go ahead and answer your question, it's the progress/seek bar for the demo video of which we apparently only saw parts of, in the clips we currently have.)

im pretty sure he was being sarcastic

I had always assumed that city and civ were really just one stage, but with 2 very seperate parts two it.

it is a troll post. I remember JakeCourtney from a while back when i was lurking.
so i shall beat all the regulars to saying no one else post here.

I have to agree with sub.
the editors are such a large part of the game... with the sims body shop, it was much smaller because you spent more time playing with the sims and messing with their lives than creating the initial family (or thats how it was supposed to of been played even though I had more fun creating :P)
In spore you spend alot more time going back to the editors.
So i think it would be a mistake to release the entire editor before (especially 5 months before)
maybe a demo with the first column of creature parts a lil bit before the games release, but I can't see any more than that.

I think all the same arguments can be made for creature parts.

well, the ocean is there so I guess with an expansion instead of adding water creatures to planets already discovered I think that new planets with expansion content will have some kind of label/code so that the server doesn't send any of the new stuff to old versions of the game. Therefore, after you install the expansion every new planet you discover will have water&/flying creatures and of coure you can always abduct them and take them to old planets. About starting over again, that is not necessarily true because we know you can go back as any creature and continue its evolution in an already existant save (universe) so you can evolve several creatures in the same universe :)
I've got a question to this
but when people install the expansion pack, all their new planets will contain the new content. This means that everything afterwards would get labeled and not sent to the old games, therefore all the people who refuse to give in to the expansion pack frenze won't have their games pollinated nearly as much and spliting the community in a sense (especially if there are multiple expansions and somepeople will only get a few/their favorite), ruining that universal pollination aspect of Spore. Am I right?

I really hope there won't be any expansion packs, it feels to me like this is one game that should come out as a whole, no matter what the wait time is to get it. :-\

JUST as I was writing a post to continue this discussion (btw, i agree with UrbanAnger, it was definitley not dna points)  I was watching the video again and noticed one of the pink creatures emit this "shock" animation.

so now i am coinvinced it must be a cartoony hit, even though all of the other hits are a yellow glow. But i guess the blue ball could be a bite attack while the yellow glow a sign of an attack with the weapons? It could be a camera flash, but it seems too coincidental to be in the right place both times, but at the same time the boar doesn't seem to of done anything to "hit" the screeble (and if it didnt do any action there, what took down so much health?).

??? I just don't know, I'm just gonna hope that if it isn't in the game, the devs will put it in (maybe in the form of 2 talons you put on the two differant limbs of the creature and when they both touch (another creature) they create a shock like an electric eel :P)

EDIT: but the two flashes appear to be in the same spot on the screen so maybe it is just a flash.. but then again... what brings down the health?

ahh ok, maybe thats it, too bad :(
dont know why it jumped out at me this time tho ???
and yes i apologize, "confirmed" is stronger of a word then it should of been

Much like an electric eels ability to shock a victim :P
anyways, i remember a little while ago the confirmation of special attacks like spitting out venom, and i was just watching a video from the thread titled "i have not watched it yet..but it seems new (video)" now even though some people say it isn't new, i had never seen it,
Anyways, at exactly the 10:15 mark wills creature moves away from what looks like a boar and i think what I'm seeing is an electric shock come from the creature and wills creature losses health at the same time as the flash... although i admit that could be from one of the pink creatures attacking him but i think he was damaged from the shock too.

I've watched this a bunch of times and am worried that it could just be wishfull thinking on my part cause I want to create a creature with this attribute (the "Arashiens" on sporewiki).. what do you guys thing? Am I right?
