In all honesty, the meaning of life, our place in the universe/multiverse, why we're here, who/what created us, what's going to happen in the end...

it's not really important. Life's too short to worry about everything ever. We should be worrying about things that are really on the cosmic scale like, 'what's for breakfast tomorrow' or 'why the **** does jim keep complaining about his social problems when he doesn't have any!' or 'how am i never going to have to pay taxes ever again.'

get your priorities straight people.

Spore: General / Re: Why do we need creatures in City & Civ...
« on: September 07, 2007, 03:03:47 pm »
i'm sure they have some small, minor use. Nothing important. They're there because no one wants a city without civilians. Lag or no lag, i give no ****s about this one. Seeing a bunch of varients of your creature stage's ancestor, going about their dreams and urbanite goals just finishes the whole civ game, in a way speedy processing won't replace. At least, for me.

i was never top notch at getting all of my ideas across properly. Sorry. When I said neo druidism, there was this earlier part that hinted maybe instead of being several different conflicting religions, i might've been...adopting...the ideas...?

I'm not a druid, i'm probably not crazy. I don't think druids are crazy though. I meant the what i believe is a combination of certain view points and/or ideas of the different groups.

the problem is both sides tend to attract all kinds of people. this includes people who were spawned seemingly to bash things. Like an evil unfunny comedian(bad example?).
What's happening is the two leading religions are fighting, which seems to always be happening. Both convinced they can help people and that the other is only there to destroy everything good in the world. Theism and Atheism. Yes, atheism, much like being a rebel accidentally became a stereotype, has become a religion. The anti-religion religion.

The problem here is the same problem that has divided many communities, they view the other community as one large being. this being is usually defined as the one that stands out, which is unfortunately, the self righteous dicks. Each community has its zealots, followers, rebels, neutrals, and free thinkers. People strengthen their cause, sometime on purpose, by warping the truth about their 'adversaries.'

My personal view is a horrible, lab accident hybrid of monastic idealism(look into Amit Gotswami), Christianity, agnosticism and neo-druidism.

It's extremely convenient, malleable and correctable which would make some people define it as untrue. What they don't recognize is, it wasn't designed to be, it worked out to be that way.

What some people have to understand about all sorts of scriptures is that they were written not by a big man in the sky, but by opinionated men. Some of it's right, some wrong. You have to decide for yourself, that's what makes you a person.  Self sacrificial religions exist because it works. It helps people, and while it disgusts some(like me.) it comforts others notably.

If I've spelled anything wrong no one will listen to a thing i say( i may get flamed regardless

...spell check don't fail me now...

Spore: General / Re: Discovery Channel's "Alien Planet"

The future is wild, was probably thought up like this,

"Hey, know what would be AWESOME?"
 "...What?"
"If the future had glowing sharks."
"Oh, yeah. and Giant Elephantine Squids!"
"Oooh! Squid monkeys too--like squids that climb trees and stuff."
  "Alright...how about...an octopus with camouflage!"
"We already have those..."
"Make it a jillion feet tall."
"Oh yeah. And...and...and...ADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD"
  "Well said. Well said."

I think Discovery just wanted to have a whack at their own Pokemon franchise.

I kinda liked it, but wouldn't sit through the whole thing. Had to see it twice.

yeah, but i think they're actually called Quanzakas or something horribly complicated like that. I now know for a fact they're not Quetzaquotls, which was some heart eating God of the Aztecs.

you know what would be great to see? Something big. Something really big. Something big and oddly shaped and majestic and cold and beautiful and ****ing big. Something that dwarfs all the other creatues and when it walks/floats(i put floats because thats all I think wings will do now) it will cause fear and admiration and...oh look. My computer turned off. Let's just load up again and...the creature, when I return is probably going to be replaced with a placid, cud-chewing megahamster.

Bam. Three ideas brought out in one distastefully messy clutter.

eh, we'll get it soon enough. i mean, at the rate things are going, by the time they actually DO work out all the bugs in spore, they'll have invented a time machine, so they could just send the finished copy back in time.(maybe with some lottery numbers and cyber-crack...)

people keep speaking as if whoever of your species is in the  space ship is alone. when the most plausible thing is that it'll be a team of  scientists and handymen and soldier/guard charecters exploring the last known frontier for the greater good, all the while pillaging and then sending missionaries to tribal planets, extincting ones with creatures, and then discovering that the universe is actually just another speck inside of something even more uncomprehensible and vast.

well it makes sense when you think about it. the ufo is this godlike machine, so why mass produce them, and risk ****loads of lives with them? you only need a few at most. and who carries an entire fleet with them in case they feel like f*cking with anonomous intelligent life? it would make sense, if you were greeted by a batallion of less capable one purposed AI battle ships there to assist you, and you'd be like a heroe in heroes 5, basically, better exponentially then any indiviual one of them, and always valuable if not necessary in a fight. of course, a lot of good methods and ideas will go unnoticed, but that's probably to leave lee way for expansions to keep maxis happy, and to get it out before we die. there's also mods made by unnoficial figures.
