Spore: General / Re: cybermen! (this is not a confirmation)

You can make bipedal vehicles. If you look in the civ stage portion of the e3 video you can see a bideal machine walking around outside the city walls. I'm not sure what part of the video it's at though...sorry, but I do know that it's there. I also saw a screenshot somewhere.

Making an unbalanced creature is what makes this game so great. Sure, you have the option to make it very realistic, but you also have the option to make something that's completely crazy. I know for myself that will provide endless hours of entertainment. Just going into the editor and making the most unbalanced, insane creature I can think of and seeing how the game makes it move. Spore would be incomplete and seem a little empty if the limitations of reality were in there.

About the leg glitch, I also remember them saying something somewhere about working on fixing that. No idea where it was though. :-\

Computer Gaming World magazine did a cover article on spore last month (not sure on exact date) and in the article the devs said that if you die, you go back to the previous generation or something like that. Don't know if that means to the part right after the egg hatches, to the creature editor for that generation, or to the previous generation before mating takes place, but it'll be one of those stages

Spore: General / Re: Early Creature Editor Release

I think that a creature editor will be released before the game comes out, but not too long before. Maybe like 3 or 4 months at the most. Plus, in this months Computer Gaming World magazine (spore is the cover story) WW said that the editors palettes come in 4 levels, which corresspond with the 4 levels of brain development. It wouldn't be too far fetched to think that Maxis would release a creature editor demo of like, the first 2 level in the palette, so not everything is unlocked, but you get a lot of creative options still.

the color concept isn't too far fetched either. It would make sense to since each planet should have multiple evironments in it to blend into. The only thing I can see that might be a problem is that is would in some way influence the color of the creature, and some people probably won't like that too much. But then...the other creatures in your environment would do the same thing
