I know the Spore forums are dead, but how are the rest of the forums?

Also, does Steve actually podcast on a regular basis now?

Yes, yes I have. Check the podcast section.

My Leige! Although I'm low on post count, I recently hit my 10 year bday on this account. Still crazy to think about

F ea for ruining spore 10 years ago

Spore: General / Would "Old" spore have sold more than "New" spore??
« on: September 17, 2009, 10:01:50 pm »
So do you guys think the "old" spore which was 100% hardcore gamer, had extreme micromanagement, etc have sold more than the current game out now?

Me I think it would have since nearly every game that has good ratings sells like crazy!

I mean halo, gta, mgs4, madden. If it lived up to the hype and became one of the best games of all time than EVERY hardcore pc gamer would have bought it PLUS im sure they wouldnt have made it hard for non hardcore to play

actually I knew about spore before the 05 video because IGN had a page about it with pictures WELL before that 05 video

You still play spore? wtf it was the biggest flop in history and seriously has helped me NEVER hype another game again

Tell me the truth seriously how bad did spore disappoint you?

Cities on planets NOT COLONIES!!

Also bigger planets and maybe (?) bigger cities??

Like if your comp can run it why not have a city over a full planet

Spore: General / Re: Was it worth the wait?
« on: September 12, 2008, 01:21:39 pm »
NO way was it worth the wait.

I still think EA delayed the game from last year to dumb it down ( I seriously do) to get casuals, even Will wright himself said the games aimed for casuals.

This game has been the biggest flop in gaming history I think so. ( IGN 8.8 while not bad this game was sworn to be GOTY, Gamespot 8.0...)

Im just happy within a week the enemys attackign you every second has been taken care of and even though I havnt played the game yet from what ive heard its repetative, AI is bad, Pong has more depth, and its just boring after a while because you have to collect all the spice yourself so NO it was not nearly worth the wait nor will it ever be because EA will never release mod tools bc there EA.

Spore: General / When will the good mods start coming out?
« on: September 12, 2008, 11:07:02 am »
Ok so I finally got spore but my new comp is 2-3 weeks away ( damn amazon takes forever to return something and get a new one ) well anyways I was wondering when the really good mods r gana be coming?

1. Something like making planets as big as your comp can handle it

2. Ive been hearing you can only make colonies on other planets do you think that will change to actual cities

3. also I heard 3 cities per planet??? thats so crappy I really hope they change that one especially if u link it with number 1.

* Ive been hearing about the spice collecting and how you have to manueally do it but I hope someone makes a mod or w/e to auto do it like in Red alert 2, Tiberian Sun, or basicly any RTS.

Thanks everyone

So ea might consider making the whole game a "gaming engine" which will one day create the SPORE WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

The Spore I've been waiting for comes out on Sunday.

What he said. =P

But Spore from Blizzard would be AWESOME!!!!111!!!!
Best company ever. Fact.

Actually an opinion
The biggest thing that people seem to complain about right now with Spore is that it's too grindy. How the heck would the makers of World of freaking Warcraft make it better?

Well technically Blizzard is the best gaming company atleast on the PC. They're good game makers, and not as evil as some of the other ones, and actually do care a bit about the customers. Not perfect, but still pretty good. And they have yet to make a 'bad' game(No, WoW is not 'bad' no matter what they say). So I trust that they could use that technology and make it better. Plus they try to make games that are light on systems so they could definitely use that.

I don't know what Valve is, but from you guys it seems good.

I should report that reply...

Valve = All half life games which are the top 3 best shooting games ever. Counterstrike which A LOT of people regard as the best Multiplayer game of all time.
and very recently Portal and Team fortress 2.

Soon to be left 4 dead

Spore: General / The spore we all wanted could come from Valve or blizzard!!

its sad how low my expectations have gotten for this game...

Sigh 4 years of waiting for a casual half done game to come out...

Heres to the mod community to maybe one day turn it into the game it was supposed to be!
