Loving the Desert Tribe info' (just what I asked for ;)). I never expected them to be this exciting though. Can't wait to hear a little more about them. So do they get wiped out before the Robotic Age? I hope not. :(

And as for originality: start sketching until you make a creature you like... don't copy anyone elses design. In that way, no matter how much it looks like another person's creature, it is truly original. Anything that you like and you designed yourself is original.

That's the problem. I'll sit down with a blank sheet of paper in front of me and begin sketching, but no matter how bad I try to come up with something orginal it always ends up looking EXACTLY like someone's elses creature or something from real life. I need to be able to come up with an idea before I start sketching and I just can't do it!

Spore: Creation Corner / Orginal Design Ideas

I need help with designing an orginal creature. As you may have noticed all of the creatures I have designed so far (The Sa'rir and The Orbion) are far from the most orginal idea in the world. What I want to know is how have you (this is directed towards Hydo' and Hugg' mostly) managed to come up with such intresting and orginal creatures while still maintaining a sense of orginality? What was the process of creating such a spectacle? What helped you along the way? Where did you look for inspiration?

One other thing I'd like to ask: What is an intresting, and currently unentered, enviroment for my creature to live in?

As long as your people are noble and hard working then I will refrain from destroying them (too much money lost in the Slave Industry that way :P).

Is that a shrub or a tree? 'Cause if it's a tree, that thing would be huge.

Don't worry, it's only a bush. They aren't that big...yet... ::)

Good idea OperaGhost. At least this gives people an idea of who is open to requests and where they can get them. As OperaGhost already mentioned I've offered to draw some people's creatures. So if anybody wants me to do a drawing for them; then just ask!

Spore: Creation Corner / The Orbion - New Creature
« on: April 07, 2006, 11:57:18 am »

The Orbion is a peaceful and timid hexapod omnivore. As well as the large eye on the front of their body they also have three extra optical orbs positioned on the end of three free standing tentacles. These added appendages allow the Orbion an full 360 degree view of their surronding. One eye always looks forward, one eye always looks backwards, one eye always looks up and another eye always looks down.

A hand like grasping appendege is located on the end of their elongated tongue. This is used from stripping the leaves from the Tomo plant, the Orbions' main food substance. The Orbions have no teeth. Instead once the leaves have been brought back to the mouth two glands located as the top of the orofice submerge the leaves in a acidic substance which breaks down the leaves for easy digestion.

hey dake, how many more requests do you have right now?
I'm guessing about 40
Yeah, I think we should calm down with the requests. At least until he gets his comp fixed.

I agree with DoggySpew. In the mean time if you are desperate for a drawing then you can always contact me, I'll be more than happy to have a go (I'm sorry Dake, I'm not trying to hijack your thread, just trying to take some of the pressure off of your back).

Dependent on how much you plan on using Photoshop should determine whether or not you decide to purchase it. If you decide that you wont use it that often then I suggest you download GIMP. It's basically a freeware version of Photoshop though not quite as good as the orginal. I don't have a link to hand but if you type it into Google (not images :P) then it'll come up with something non-erotic I'm sure.

did you know they were called 'tanks' because the workers didn't even know what they were making?  The workers were told they were building special issue water tanks.  ;D

That's all the showing off for me... I'm now completely drained of trivia   ???

And when they orginal came onto the battlefield they were known as the Big Willy and the Little Willy.  ???

Building and vehicles styles.

Hmm...I haven't thought about that area of their culture yet. I'll have to get back to you on that one. ;)

Granted but the sudden shock and amazement of the Spore Icons cause your head to implode as if you'd just seen Chuck Norris.

I wish I was Chuck Norris.
