Maybe Steve is currently locked in the bowels of Microsoft Headquarters, undergoing further 'readjustment'.  If this is the case, expect all references to Podcasting to be removed and replaced with 'Zunecasting'.

Instead of complaining, we should send someone to Seattle to rescue him!
If you are willing to finance my flight&accomodation, i'd give it a shot.

I have been waiting for a demo but there doesnt appear to be one.

After so many  MMRPGs, I am not sure I can bring myself to spend another $50 just to see if I will like it or not.   :'(

There was a two day Beta last month where you got to try everything out, but that's it over now.
I still don't like the idea of having to team up with other people, the community in the game is so horrible,  I'd much rather just play with one or two friends and use the henchmen, but that became impossible towards the end of the first game.
I finished the whole game as a Mesmer using only henchmen as teammates. It is possible, you just have to play slow.

Factions rules ! It is harder than Prophecies, but i like the challenge.

Maintaining the servers costs more than pure maintenance on the datacenter (although the datacenter is not cheap. The bill concerning cooling is enormous).
The other thing which costs money is energy. The electrical bill is huuuge.

But those are pretty fixed costs; you can't really drive them down.

Arenanet did something to make Guild Wars cheap: minimise network traffic.
They pay for each and every byte that gets to them or is sent by them.
The pretty unique design of guildwars helps saving huge amounts of money.

Considering that chapter 4 is being worked on, Guildwars will at least survive another 2 years.

mitch, you have no idea how costly a data-center is. The initial investment in hardware is not the major cost-point. Maintenance cost _huge_ amounts of money, not to speak of

I live in Mannheim, Germany, about 200 Meters from where they found an infected bird.

There is noothing to worry about bird-flu. We got working medicine (tamiflu), vaccinations against normal flu work with bird-flu and it doesn't even infect humans frrm other humans.

It's all a big media-hype (remember mad-cow disease ? how many of your friends who eat everyday at McD have died from it ?).
