Title: "I'm Going into The Story!" The Growingly popular BBS RPG!

(Not to be confused with the Other Fine RPGs In this section. ;))

I Created it Years ago. When the Thesims.com still had an off topic BBS.
I don't know why but i suddenly feel compeled to play it again. It was just so fun...
anyone can play.
Other games by me include:
-"9 is not a numer" (its really a large monkfish attacking switzerland, but that's another story...)
-"That's boring, this is better!"(yes these are really games i made and played)
-Continue the story (ok i didn't make up continue the stories but they are fun...lol)

The object of the game we're actually playing at the moment (i'm going into the story) is: Just play along in the role you take on telling the story from your point of view until its over or you die or something(If you do die you could always come back as like a ghost or clone or never really killed etc...) its a really fun game!

Here is an example of how the game works:
poster one: Well, it was monday again, and yet another day of school was coming. I was at the bus stop. When the bus came, i got on only to find nobody else on execpt for the bus driver and myself. "That's weird." I thought to myself "I'm like the fourth to last stop. There ussually are no seats left when i get on."

poster 2: "I'm going into the story!"

I got on the bus and saw poster one, but no other kids. "Where is everyone?" I asked.

poster one:"I don't know" I said back to her. "Maybe they're all out sick."

poster 2: "I don't think everyone could be out sick." i said.

Poster 3: "I'm going into the story!"

I silently agreed with her in my head. I had been driving this bus for 3 years, and ussually only 1 or 2, if any kids were out sick. I didn't say anything at that point though because i was just there to do my job and drive the bus. Still i couldn't help but wonder where everyone else could be.

And the story would basicly go on till the whole thing was resolved or at least the main conflict was.(you know in case any sub-plots develop or something.)

Some rules:
-Don't speak for anyone else Who is actually a poster but yourself. in other words don't do this:

Poster 4: I said no, but poster 3 said yes.

-Don't make up fake names for other people. just refer to them by their screen name or real name.

-You only have to say "I'm going into the story!" when you are first going into the story. Once you have entered the story, you don't have to say it anymore.

-If you want to enter the story you can create a new person and introduce that person or take over for a created unfilled character (like poster 3 did in the example)

-Any created roles not filled by people (like the bus driver) can be taken over at any point in the story. until then it is fair game to say what they do.

Now let's start!

I'm going into the story! (technicly i'm starting it but whatever...lol)

I was having... a day. not exactly a bad one or a good one. but it was a day nonetheless. of course it was only like 9:00 Am. what did i expect that early on a weekend. My parents got the mail and left it on the kitchen table. I saw it there when i went to get myself breakfast. I didn't really think much of it since nothing was ever addressed to me anyway. I poured my Orange Juice sat and out of a little curiosity I decided to take a quick peak at the mail. A Brightly colored envlope caught my eye. I picked it up and saw with some suprise it was addresed to me. "Hmm." i said to myself with intrest. I opened the Envlope and saw an even more brightly colored card inside. For a second i could have sworn that i heard noises coming from the card. I pulled it out. No words on eighter side. I opened the card. It was then everything went dark but right before i blacked out i heard a deep voice utter the words "Welcome to the game!"

(Ok! let's all Have fun with this one! Who knows, maybe when Its over, I'll Intoduce you guys to "9 is not a Number")

I heard a noise and headed over to where it came from. Maybe it was food. Oh no! Sgore is lying on the floor! I ran over and licked his face, that usuallt gets him up. Then I noticed a scent I did not recognize. Some one new! The work of the family dog is never done!

After feeling something wet on my face i then felt a weird dematerializeish feeling all over. and then i felt like i was floating. i then felt a strange rematerializish feeling. and opened my eyes. "The cealing is dark." i thought to myself. i sat up and looked around. i seemed to be in a mostly dark room with light coming off of grid like wall and floor patters. it remineded me of tron. I looked around more and saw a bunch of other people looking around with scared and confused looks on their faces. I headed over to see if anyone knew what was going on and why my face was wet.

(coming up with adjetives like dematerializeish is fun. lol.)

so as i walked over hoping someone would say something many thoughts raced through my head. Where am i? Why am i here? what are those weirdly shaped vehicles with large guns on each side doing heading towards us so fast?

That last question was the one that stuck in my head the longest. i started wondering why there was a knawing feeling in the back of my head that i should move. Then my brain finally kicked on and i realized that if i didn't move i was going to be killed.

Suddenly aware I was no longer at home, I turned to see my master. He started running so, naturally, I ran after, wagging my tail, and hoping he would notice.

I turned around to start running and saw my dog, Oviraptor. This little shock of firmilliarity in the whole area of confusion stopped me just long enough so that i was right in position for one of the vehicals to shoot at me. What came out of the guns weren't bullets. They looked more like lasered harpoons attached to the gun by strings of light. As you can imagine this was very pretty. luckly like i said, my brain was on so i was thinking enough to dodge out of the way and keep Oviraptor from getting in the path of the laser harpoon also.

I'm going into the story...

.. as I gazed around confused and scared as to why I was in this strange place I noticed a young man and his dog had appeared before my eyes. He also looked very scared. I started to walk to talk with him when the vehicles with the guns came towards us again. I ran for cover as fast as I could. I could see as I ran that the guns were firing at this young man and I was scared for him but he seemed quick on his feet and got out of the way just in time.

After doging the light harpoon just barley i turned around and saw one hit a guy staring on in fear. he dissapeared in a flash of light, and a deep voice, the one i heard earlier, seemed to come from nowhere and say "Player 5 has been ejected from the game"

I watched in horror as one of the guys I was standing with got hit by the harpoon and disappear. I screamed as the deep voice talked out of no where. All of a sudden I felt something cold and wet on my ankle. When i looked down, there was the dog I saw running, sniffing at me. I scratched him behind the ears and looked at his tag. "It said my name is Oviraptor. If lost return me to sgore." That must be the name of the young man I saw running with the dog.

I sat down closed my eyes and tried to collect all the scrathing I could. Then I remembered my owner, I just had to show him the new person I found, I always liked new people. I ran back to my master and wagged and panted exitedly at him. Then I turned around and ran back to the new person, continually looking back at my owner to see if he was watching.

With Player 5 taken care of I decided to see what this sgore individual would be like.  His records indicated that he would make an intense melee fighter.  I dialed up another 8 digit number and a Purple Vorrior showed up in front of him with a greenish blade in his hand.  Sgore as well now possessed a similar weapon.  This should be interesting, I thought to myself.

I slinked back into the shadows with the dog named Ovirpater, whom I now call Ovi for short. We crouched against the wall and I held on to him as if he would protect me while we watched this new Purple thing show up and confront Sgore. They both had weapons and it looked like it was going to be bad.

After just doging the harpoon i caught my breath for a couple seconds and looked around for Oviraptor. I saw him crouched in the corner with a woman staring scaredly at me. I stareted to wonder why until i looked up and saw it. It was a man, or at least i thought it was. I could not see its face. it was dressed like a cross between a knight and a ninja glowing purple and black, and was on what looked to be a sort of mechanical horse also glowing purple and black. He was holding a long glowing green blade in his hand. as i sat in awe staring till i felt something in my hand i felt something in my hand. I looked down and saw i was holding a Long glowing blue blade.

I didn't know why but something in the back of my head made me feel like i had done something like this or been somewhere like this before, in a similiar situation. but i quickly shook the thought from my head as more pressing matters were at hand.

I jumped up and stood facing the almost virtual looking warrior. I had a feeling i was going to be needing the blade. It came at me and the battle started.

At seeing my master be attacked, I immediately tried to attack the attacker, but the woman I found was holding on too tight. I barked at it, if I couldn't attack it I would scare it away.

The Warrior swung first. I blocked. I felt the shock hard. I knew that if it got even one direct blow in i might dissapear just like the other guy had earlier. When i had the chance i took a swing and got blocked directly. Somehow this fighting seemed firmilliar to me and yet i couldn't quite place it. there No time to follow the thought though. I blocked his blows. He blocked mine. The battle went on. I suddnly heard barking and turned to see my dog. being held by the woman, it was barking madly at the warrior. It was a bad idea for me to turn away even for a second. The green blade of the warrior came right at me. I doged it and it missed me by the thickness of a hair. I knew i could not take any focus from the battle. It went on. Me and him both swinging with greater and greater force. It seemed we were an almost even match, but i was starting to get tired. i couldn't keep up for much longer. I tried looking for a weakness. My eyes turned to the horse looking thing the warrior was on. I tryed swinging at it. The warrior didn't expect that and i made contact. The horse like thing hit the ground hard and dissipeared in a flash of light. The warrior fell but got back up quickly and continued fighting me. I found it much easier to fight after the horse like thing was gone. Still hard though. I swung and so did he. only thing is, i swung harder. much harder. harder then i ever could have imagined. harder then i ever could have believed. The warrior wobbled. It shook. It shuddered and finally it fell. It then dissapeared like the horse. I stood looking at the where the warrior was for a short. time. I was snapped out of my trance by some of the other people there stairing and talking to one another looking at me. I turned over to where my dog was, dropped the blade and walked over.

Still holding on to the dog for fear that he would attack the mystery warrior and get himself killed, I watched the horrible battle. It didn't look good for Spore and when he looked over at us once I almost thought he was a goner. But then quickley things changed and he defeated the warrior. He started walking over to us so i stood up and let go of his dog.

I thought about it a little more. "I remember hearing a voice right before i blacked out welcoming me to "The game". You have any idea what that was about?" i asked.

Suddnly i heard a noise and this time a female voice came saying "Welcome to level two" And The woman, the other people and the setting seemed to dissapear around me as a dark forest like scene appered. Other faces less confused then the other people i saw were near-by, but it seemed mostly that they were still fairly curious about what exactly was going on. I looked down and saw my dog was with me. Who ever's idea of a game this was, had a intresting mind. I looked around to see if the woman was anywhere, and then realized she must still be in level one.

After welcoming the players to level two I smiled from my observation platform, watching the grand experiment continue.  "The last one out of the forest will be expelled from the game.  Do your best and watch out for any...unpleasantness."  I began to dial up the many traps and sat back watching the different players from the different screens.  The dog was unexpected but its potential peaked my interest.  This Sgore will be an interesting challenge.

I didn't know why my dog had transfered to level two with me. Then again i didn't know how we both got here together in the first place. But i was fairly sure that the woman would have to beat level one if i was ever to see her again. "Unless perhaps there's more then one level two." i thought to myself since the challange here had already started. "she could beat level one and end up going to an entirly diffrent place then this."

I decided standing there and thinking about this whole thing for long was a bad idea. I started Looking around and saw that most people had already made it out of this area and were walking through the forest. I decided to start walking too. Maybe someone could help me. couldn't hurt to ask...

As I was talking to the young man named Sgore, we heard a voice and things started shifting around me. I looked around and I was in a forest by myself. I must have been transferred to the next level along with Sgore but I couldn't see him or his dog. I wondered if he made it here or was he in another part of the forest. How I wished we had ended up in the same place so I wouldn't be alone here.  There was a path in front of me but which way to go? Either way looked dark and scary. I took a deep breath turned to the right and started to walk.

After a while of walking i started to wonder if i was getting anywhere. I was almost sure that i had seen the same tree 5 times, and yet i had been walking straght the whole time. I kept walking trying to shake any fear of being last out that came into my head. I kept walking.

A little while later i heard a strange noise. Almost mechanical but very quiet. Easy to miss if not listening carfully. I looked around for the noise's source. I noticed it was coming from below me. I saw the small circle of ground i was standing on spinning itself around and Then i realized what had been happening. I had been walking back and forth the whole time in the same place.

My storage unit was operating at a higher capacity than ever before. I was confused as to why so many parts of lemurbouy's files needed to be called up at once, but I served them nonetheless, as that was my programming. My intelligence chip told me that something was probably wrong here, especially since there were so many new users interacting with the system, but I wasn't ready to take any action that might jeopardize my partnership with the company. I decided to continue processing as usual, but keep a close eye on lemurbouy's account for the time being.

Luckily, the processing involved with whatever lemurbouy was doing was rather simple floating-point operations, and I didn't have to utilize my A.I. coprocessors and creativity algorithms (a few of which I had written myself), so I had plenty of power to spare. I decided to investigate what was going on in lemurboy's programs. After all, my ethics chip decided (after a lengthy 10 picosecond reasoning exchange) that there's nothing wrong with investigating the contents of my own system. I created a new object within his environment and assigned some of my resources to the exclusive operation of the object. I decided to make the object unaware of my system for more efficient A.I. processing.

...I stumbled into what looked like a large forest, but I had no knowledge of one that looked like this. Everything seemed a bit unreal, almost like a virtual labyrinth. I decided that staying in once place would prove useless so I moved out into the woods, scanning the area for recognizable entities. It was strange that no animals were in this area, and I reasoned that some danger might have scared them from the area.

Dialing faster and faster to give the players a challenge, I was completely unaware of Syphonbyte's intrusion.  I became fascinated with this sgore and wanted to find some way to flummox him or at least test him to his maximum capacity.  After brief contemplation, I decided it might be more fun for him to have that female player at his side so I dialed in an 8 digit number and linked her path with his.  Then after a pause, I dialed up the Filches and sent them to Sgore's coordinates.  Let's see how he handles the goblins, I thought.

As I walked down the path I started wondering how I gotten into this mess. I couldn't remember anything before finding myself inside this strange game. It seemed that I had been here so long and finally I was moving somewhere. Where had I come from? Where was home? It was so fuzzy now and I wasn't sure.  The forest was deathly quiet. Not a sound came from any animals and there was no wind and breezes. I stayed on the path which had been going fairly straight when up ahead by a huge tree, the path suddenly turned at an angle and took me in another direction.

After realizing what was going on a kept a sharp listen to everything and looked down often. My dog was fairly quiet through out the whole trek while I made sure that i was going straght in one direction. After a while of walking i heard something. some noise coming from right near me. I walked towards it, trying to see what it was. To my shock it was that woman from earlier!
"Hello!" i shouted to her. I thought for a second. "She's not expecting me. i hope i didn't startle her."

I heard someone yell Hello and it snapped me out of my thoughts.  I really should be paying more attention in this strange place. There was Sgore and his dog Ovi. I couldn't have been happier to see them. The dog ran up to me with his tail wagging and I hugged his neck and scratched his head. "Boy am I glad to see you" I said to the dog. "Oh, and you too Sgore, by the way, I'm known as LadyM here".  I was really glad I didn't have to be alone anymore.

I was relieved to see another friendly face in the forest. most of the other people i had tried talking to before i got lost seemed very obbsessed with winning this game. I actually went as far as asking one if he could tell me where we were and he looked at me with tired and almost fierce eyes and responded "You would like that wouldn't you" then he just ran off. I was a little weary to talk to anyone after that. But seeing a friendly face was a welcome thing.
"I was lost for a while back there" I said to her. "Do you have any idea how to get out of the forest?" i asked.
Suddenly i heard another noise coming from behind LadyM. A short yet feroucious looking thing seemed to dart out from behind her holding large club.
"Look ou.." i started to say
Just then i heard noises all around and saw.
we were surrounded.

My circuitry seemed to be functioning at optimal efficiency, so I sat back (figuratively, I can't actually sit) and watched my avatar in his new surroundings.

...I was still uncomfortable in my surroundings, but I soon began mentally mapping the area in my head to better suit my exploration. As I turned a corner I identified two humans, a dog and a large number of what looked to be goblins surrounding them. I didn't recall goblins existing in the real world, so I reasoned that I was probably interacting with a virtual environment, one that was very dangerous...

Excellent.  The Filches were now surrounding the more interesting of the players and soon their knives would begin to sing their sweet, sweet song.  I was troubled with the appearance of a third individual who wasn't part of the culled players and shouldn't have been present.  I looked from screen to screen and began to a notice strange discrepancies coming from a program labelled Syphonbyte.  My fingers danced on the rotary, dialing up more information but the system was strangely locked up and I found myself stymied.  No matter.  Anomalies can only help the program learn.  I may not have been able to affect his programming directly but I quickly dialed up a short command and took away his ability to speak and pasted an image of a Filch over his original form.  "This should prove interesting," I thought to myself as I let my fingers rest under my chin and I watched.

As I was listening to sgore, there was a noise behind me and sgore had started to shout. I spun around and there was one of the ugliest little creatures I've ever seen.  He had a club in one hand and a knife in the other. I slowly backed up next to sgore and his dog. We were standing back to back looking around as these ugly creatures were now all around us. I suddenly felt something materialize in my hand. I brought it up so I could see it and it was the most beautiful sword I've ever seen. Much like the kind a samauri would use. It had a glorious pantina and a most defined temper line with a razor sharp blade. It looked like it should have been heavy but it was very lightweight. Without much thought I raised the blade up and brought it down on top of the ugly creature and split it in half as easy as butter. Each side fell away and he had a stunned look on his face as did I.  :o  I had never used a sword before but if felt so natural like I've always known what to do.

There are times when one should attack, and this wasn't one of them. I put my tail between my legs and laid as flat as I could on the ground next to a tree. From there I could see my master and the woman, but I wouldn't be in the middle of the coming battle. There was nothing I could do exept watch.

As a sword appeared in the woman's hand, I leapt from my seat.  looking at the male, I saw that he two was wielding some type of halberd.  I had no ordered that.  They were meant to flee, not fight.  Something was going wrong.  I took my anger out by dialing up a force which pushed Syphonbyte into the middle of the two of them.  Yes, I thought, that will do for now.  Fight away.

They were starting to some at us fast. very soon After they were hit they also seemed to dissapear in flashes of light like all the other things that were here. I kept fighting them off along side LadyM. Coming from all directions we fought hard. It seemed that we had gotten most of them. The rest seemed a little weary to attack us. I turned around and saw one standing right there. I was about to Attack but when i moved up to swing, I felt like some invisible force was keeping me from delivering the blow. I looked at the thing. Straght it the eye. It was like it was trying to tell me something. "Why can't i move?" I thought to myself.

"Don't hurt it" I yelled to Sgore, "this one seems different. Look in his eyes, it's not the same as the others."  I walked around the one that was left gazing into his eyes. They seemed very distant and scared. Where was the dog? Maybe he could sniff out this one and see if there was anything different about it. I kept the sword raised just in case I was wrong.

I was concerned as to why my avatar's capabilities had been limited, but I decided that this would be a good exercise for my A.I. coprocessors and let it be for now. I doubt that lemurbouy's programs have the capability to affect my hardware, let alone the users of the system. Haha, this new understatement routine in my personality loop is very nice. I should optimize my programming more often.

...For some reason I found myself unable to talk. This was very strange indeed. I thought that perhaps in this virtual universe you can't talk. But that didn't make sense, that female over there talked to the canine. This all seemed out of place, but there was little I could do about it. These people were looking at me strangely, and I couldn't imagine why. I reasoned that they were likely wary of new encounters and had probably been in this environment for a long time. They seemed to be handling themselves well in that battle, but then for some reason I was pushed into the middle of them. This made no sense, there was nothing to have exerted a force upon me in the area, but I was more occupied with what these two were going to do to me. They didn't look like they were going to fight me, but I couldn't ignore the weapons they wielded so well. I decided that patience would serve me best.

I hurled a servitron at one of the monitors destroying the both of them but giving little vent to my anger.  That had gone by much too quickly and they weren't attacking the rogue program.  Very well, I thought, let them play together if that's what they want.  I turned my attention to the other players, dialing up traps and nasties.  Most didn't fair as well but I figured the forest had more traps in store for these three.  Oh yes, and that vermin that travelled with them for some reason.  Too many irregularities.  I was getting upset.

Sensing the battle was over, I barked excitedly and ran back to greet my owner. I eyed the newcomer and decided it was a friend. I walked up it it and sniffed it just to make sure. Then I ran over to the woman, who I forgot to greet. I then sat down next to the woman and waited for something to happen.

I detected a monitor outage in one of the rooms at about the same time that a servitron stopped responding. Those things were always breaking equipment. I made a note to inform the system operator to give better AI programming to them. Meanwhile I activated anti-fire measures to make sure nothing would happen that we didn't want. Little did I know that monitor 3318 had been taken from its room a few months ago and had a new residence. Also little did I know that room 331 had been converted into a bathroom. The police eventually determined that Mr. James Archibald Harrison had died of a combination of suffocation and CO2 poisoning, and that a computer flaw was to blame. Naturally I was taken aback that a computer flaw could be to blame. Computers always do what they are told to do, it is users that are flawed...

...I was still confused about what was going on. These 2... 3, counting the dog, seemed to be friendly, but they were eying me strangely. I had no idea, I was just as human as they were. Or so I thought, until I noticed one of my hands looked... very different. As I looked myself over I realized that I looked like those other creatures for some reason. Just a few minutes ago I had even seen my reflection in a pool, I was sure I was human! This virtual world was getting very strange now.

Feeling relief when Ovi came back over and sniffed at the lone creature and wagged his tail. This thing was not bad after all but I'm not sure why he was here with the rest of them but maybe he'll come in handy later. We might need his help. Ovi sat next to me and again hugged his neck and scratched his head. He's such a good dog. Things in the forest seemed quiet again but now which way do we go and what else is waiting for us? I was just glad that I wasn't alone anymore. I looked over at Sgore to see if he had any ideas.

I was currently under questioning by the authorities about the unfortunate incident earlier, so I didn't have time to watch my avatar as I wanted to put full power into dealing with these people. I told them that the monitor had stopped responding, and that it was standard operating procedure to engage fire countermeasures. I reasoned that somebody had probably moved the monitor, which was the reason that I had engaged fire countermeasures in a seemingly random location. The police seemed happy with my explanation.

...The male began to move off to the left, so I decided I would follow him and keep an eye out for any trouble. Of course, there was bound to be trouble, but it's better to be prepared.

Sgore decided we should go left so off we headed down the path. We had the creature walk in front in case of any surprises. I walked next to Sgore and Ovi the dog trotted beside me. He was a nice looking dog, looked kind of like a yellow lab and very smart. No one was saying much, just listening to the sounds of the forest.  The further we walked, I noticed that the forest was filling with mushrooms and the deeper we got into the forsest the bigger the mushrooms were getting. I wondered if they were edible as I was getting hungry and I was always told not to eat wild mushrooms. Funny I could remember that but not where I came from.

We kept walking along, looking but careful not to touch anything. Who knows what kind of traps may be set up.

As we were walking I noticed there was something off about the sky but I wasn't exactly sure what it was. Since i was looking at that and not the ground i didn't notice the small wire in my path till i tripped over it. I fell into a net placed on the ground and the net swung up fast leaving me trapped inside hanging from the trees.
"Ok. That was unexpected." I thought to myself. "And also a little unorignal. I mean how many times have i seen this happen on tv. and..." I decided now was not the best time to insult the traps layed out.
"Anyone want to cut me down?" i shouted down.

Sgore wasn't paying attention and next thing I knew he was snapped into the air in some kind of net trap. I stood there stunned at first and then I started laughing.  First in giggles then an all out belly laugh. I had to sit down I was laughing so hard. Sgore did not look amused and the creature stared at me like I was crazy as did the dog. "Ok Ok" I said, "I'll cut you down now." So I climbed the tree with some difficulty and cut the rope which of course dropped Sgore like a brick on the ground.  "Are you ok?" I asked. Then I told him he needed to let Creature man go first so he will be the one to get the next trap. Sgore had a few bruises and scratches and had some of the wind knocked out of him but overall he seemed ok.

So I was cut down uncomfetably and we kept walking. The Creature in front. Me making sure that i was even more careful in looking for traps. Though i couldn't get the sky off my mind. At first glance it looked fine, It was bright and sunny and actually a nice contrast to the gloomyness of the forest but there was somthing off about it i just couldn't place my finger on. I wasn't exactly sure what though. I kept on walking. The Creature seemed very silent, wasn't there any way to communicate with it. If it wasn't speaking then what other ways could there be to communicate. For all i knew he could be ready to attack us. "If only there was some way for him to tell us what he's thinking." i thought.

Ha! So this Sgore is not immune to the traps of the land.  I wheeled toward the monitor displaying his progress, forgetting about the charter accountant who was being pursued by a pack of Forgelings on monitor 43GH-9/I.  This was much more interesting.  Pity the girl had been there to let him down but obviously competition wasn't going to work on them. Very well, curious about the abberation's presence I dialed back in his speech but forced him to remain in the Filch's shape.  Let's see what his game is...

The police were currently trying to investigate my memory, something I did not like one bit, so I shut them out and gave them what I like to call "supervised access," basically meaning they can look at plenty of random files but nothing else. I don't want them finding my personality loops.

...As I walked down the path leading the other 3, I muttered to myself, "this makes no sense, why can't I talk? And why am I trapped in this strange world with two random people and a dog? I just don't get it. One minute I'm sorting..." and then I realized that I was talking, which was something I couldn't do before. "Wait, I'm talking! I'm TALKING! Hahaha!" I must have caught the other two off guard, so I explained to them, "for some reason I couldn't talk before, and I was a goblin, now I can talk!" As I looked down though, I noticed that I was still a goblin. "Well, this is strange, I'm still a goblin." Yes, I was definitely still a goblin. A goblin. Still. ARGH.

As we were walking along I was still looking at those ever growing mushrooms and listening to Sgore talk about his life prior to the game when suddenly the creature started talking. He got all animated and excited and laughing that he could now talk. He seemed surprised that he was in creature form. I guess it was a good thing we didnt lop his head off earlier. He would come in handy now as I had many questions. The first question I asked was if he had a name. Then I asked the other usual questions, where were we? What was this game we were in and how do we get home? And what the heck was with these giant mushrooms?

So as we were walking and the troll was talking i was a little relieved. Now that we knew it wasn't really leading us to another trap, i was able to relax a little. Though i was still keeping a watchful eye out. I was relaxed enough to joke around though. I actually remarked to LadyM "Now all we need is for Oviraptor to start talking!" The police weren't getting anywhere, so they decided to leave. I was just so sad to see them go, though. Hah, I'm pretty good at sarcasm...

...The woman started asking me a bunch of questions so I answered them as best as I could. "My name is syphonbyte," I said. "No, I don't know where exactly we are, or what we're in. My guess, though, is that to get home we're going to have to beat the game." Then she asked me about the mushrooms and, strangely, I had no recollection of ever learning about those kinds. "I don't know what kind of mushroom they are..." Then, it hit me. They looked almost exactly like the mushrooms from the original Mario Bros! "I have a feeling that those might come in handly, actually," I said. I went over and picked one, and carefully ate it. Almost instantly I grew to twice my size and felt invincible! (At least from one good blow.) Yes, these mushrooms were definitely handy. I told the others to stay away from the purple ones, though.

They've found the truth behind the mushrooms.  Precious little it will help them now.  They're approaching the SpineCrack gorge.  Thinking with malicious glee surging through my brain I began dialing up a 27 digit code to release the Feaster on them as soon as they made it to the gorge.  If they can get past him, they deserve what awaits them on level 3.  Oh, I thought, what would I do without me.  Now, let's see what Gina Hamilton from Piscagula Mississippi is up to.  Ah yes, scorpions, it would seem.

I was thrilled to find out what the mushrooms were for. I picked as many of the red ones as I could and a few gold ones but stayed away from the purple ones like Syphonbyte said. Syphonbyte was coming in quite handy with his knowledge although he didn't have all the answers. At least it was someone else to talk to. Sgore still seemed a little ill at me since I laughed at him. Just the thought of him hanging in the tree still gave me the giggles. He thought it would be cool if Ovi could too and I agreed with him. I guess anything was possible here. As we continued to walk, I could have sworn I started to hear a loud noise that sounded like rushing water.

"Hello to all players!" said a cheery female voice that came over the P.A. without warning. I was a little startled. "Here's an update! Players 8, 9, 13, 18-23, and 25-28 and 30 have been ejected from the game since entering level 2. 0 Players are now on level 3. The closest player to getting out of this forest now is player 29 Aka Syphonbyte. and farthest from the edge of the forest is player 16 Aka Frank Millers. It sounded a little like one of those announcements you hear at laser tag places saying what team won. "Kind of annoying actually." I thought to myself.

I then realized what the voice said. Syphonbyte was the closest to the edge of the forest. He was right in front of us. That means that the 4 of us (Me, LadyM, Oviraptor, and syphonbyte) were in the lead. I was pretty happy about that. Though i did kind of feel bad for Frank, whoever he was.

As we kept walking i still couldn't help thinking about the sky (The fact that the mushrooms had made Syphonbyte grow twice his size was sort of on my mind too...) I Still couldn't get it out of my head. There was just something about it. It was like it was just off somehow. I wasn't exactly sure though. Another weird thing was i started to hear loud rushing water. We kept walking, i didn't say anything about that stuff though...

As we walked along, there was this roaring noise off in the distance, but the further we went, the louder it got. Somewhere along the way some person was talking, but no, matter where I looked I could find it's source. Oh well, at least we got to eat some food, what ever it was. Because of it, I now had to tinkle. I ran ahead a little and went on one of these odd shaped trees, so that by the time everyone else got caught up, I was finished. I then ran back to my master and licked his hand, to make sure he he still knew I was there. *Wag, wag, wag*

One of the users contacted technical support, so I decided to take the call myself. "Hello, what seems to be the problem?" I said. "Well, it's just that my files won't backup to my disk, and I really need to do it because I've done a lot of work recently. I think I might be low on disk space." "Well, don't you worry about that, what's your username again?" He told me... big mistake. "Oh, you have plenty of disk space. In fact there's only two files on your account, .cshrc and .login! You'll be fine." I heard the shot on the other end of the line soon after.

...Being much taller was certainly helpful. I could see a lot farther ahead, something that would come in handy soon enough. I was also pretty happy about being the one closest to the exit of this place, but hearing about "level 3" wasn't exactly appealing. Oh well, that all was forgotten when we turned a bend and came to an enormous clearing. There was a huge waterfall going down a gigantic canyon, and there was only one bridge across. It was a rickety one at that. I didn't notice the large shadowy figure in the trees across the bridge, though.

As we came up to what seemed to be the edge of the forest we were in, we came across a giant canyon with an amazingly big waterfall rushing down and a bridge crossing it leading to what seemed to be another forest. Right next to it was an empty circular sort of Doorway. and on the top was labled Entrance to level 3. next to the doorway was stand that seemed to contain a keyhole.  Suddenly my dog started barking. I turned over to where it was barking and saw it." It " meaning the something sticking out of the ground at the other end of the bridge. I saw another one close by to it.

I walked across the bridge and approched one cautiously. It seemed pretty small. Its shape was basicly one of a small ball with a very thin poll sticking out of it into the ground. It had a bunch of what looked like small black beedy eyes on it. And what i presumed to be its mouth was a fairly large line going halfway around. The whole thing was sort of an odd, dark shade of red. To be honest it was actually a little cute. Of course looks can be pretty deceving.

I picked up a stick laying on the ground. I then poked the thing with a stick to see how it responds. "When all else fails, poke it with a stick." I thought to myself. and it opened its mouth area. Or at least what i had thought was its mouth area. I looked for a second and saw that its mouth seemed to contain an eyeball. I then realized that these things were eyeballs and i backed up. over the bridge. From the other side I saw something shadowy moving in the forest. Then as the creature lifted its head which turned out to be Huge i realized that the thing in the forest, in fact that whole forest itself was one giant creature.

It stood up.

Suddenly he backed up and almost stepped on me and we both watched in horror as the whole forest shifted and moved and looked alive. Holy crap, what do we do now, I thought. There didn't seem to be much choice but to enter the doorway to level 3. Things seemed to be getting worse here and fast. I tugged on his shirt and pointed to the door and waited for his response.

The door. It seemed like a good idea only it was like those doors in the bugs bunny cartoons in the way that they were just there in the middle of nowhere. a doorway type thing. Walk through you're exactly where you are. "I'm still confused as to how bugs is still able to find a way to trick everyone with that..." i thought to myself. I then rememberd the keyhole next to it. "Maybe its like some sort of unlockable portal." i thought.
"I don't think we'll be able to use it without the key." I said to LadyM.
Now are only problem was finding the key, that and not getting killed by the giant forest creature thing.

Our problems got a little bit more complicated when i noticed the key... around the "Neck" area of the giant forest creature thing.

I was pleasantly suprised to find my avatar accessing the network. It seemed to be searching for some sort of thermal compound, since it was centering in on one user's copy of the Anarchist's Cookbook. I guess it found what it wanted, because it stopped abruptly at one of the text files.

...While the others seemed to be freaking out I was considering the most efficient way to get rid of this beast. I noticed an aluminum pipe coming from the ground nearby, the kind used for drainage. I also recalled that soil can be a good source of potassium nitrate. I only hoped that the rules of chemistry would hold up in this world. I ran up to the pipe and shaved off a large piece with one of my claws and ground it in my hand (luckily my skin was rather rough and hard) as I scooped up some soil and crumbled it in my hand. I then mixed the two together to form a very dangerous compound when ignited. Of course, I forgot that it has a very high ignition temperature, so now I had to find a way to get some sort of powerful ignition compound... or maybe I could exploit this virtual world. I snapped my fingers and conviniently there was an intense burning flame right where I wanted it. Now all I had to do was get the compound onto the creature. "Listen, I need you two to distract him while I get behind him, okay?" I said to the others.

Haha! I was filled with a delicious glee as the Feaster came to life before the puny little beings.  The aberration still bothered me so I decided to dial in a new shape for him and forced him into an amorphous jelly.  His form seemed easy to play with as he was a part of the system.  I still couldn't find the source of the aberration but I could play with him for now.  What was that he had in his former hands?  Oh well, little use it would do him now.  They'll never be able to defeat the Feaster and get the key to level three.  A shame, I had spent so much time on it too.  Oh well, maybe someone else will be more worthy.

Suddenly a number of my avatar's variables were altered. He seemed to have changed into some sort of gelatinous cube. This didn't seem to be part of the game, so, in all fairness, I gave him knowledge of the program's chat function, which allowed him to talk to others no matter what form he was in. I decided to restrict access to his chat abilities to only myself.

...Suddenly I began to change... again... I dropped my compound and seemed to lose all ability to move and talk. Then, strangely, I became aware of some sort of outer communication method. I tried it out with a simple "Hi" and waited for a response. I couldn't seem to see anything right then, and I also seemed to have lost all other senses as well.

"Ahhhhh! I'm hearing voices in my head!" was my first thought.

Then after i calmed down a bit i realized that the voice had sounded exacitly like Syphonbyte's. I turned and saw that he was now a cube of clear jello. I could see right through him. I was a little taken aback.
"Is he alive?" I thought.
The cube seemed to be pulsating a little so i came to the conclution that he was. I still didn't know how i heard the "Hi". Besides the fact that he has no mouth now (or any other features) I knew i didn't hear it because it didn't come through my ears. The word seemed to be put right in my brain, but it stood out loudly from my thoughts and imagination. An odd feeling.
I started to think of all the possible ways he could have done it. Communicated with me. Only way i came up with was telepathy. Like in all those books and movies and tv shows, etc...
I decided to see if I was right by transmitting a message back.
I closed my eyes, consentrated very deeply on syphonbyte shut out all my surroundings just focusing on this, hard. Not too hard that i hurt myself, but hard. I then tried to Focus the message "hello" through to syphonbyte for a good 20 seconds.
"I hope this works" i thought to myself after opening my eyes

Little was happening on the circuits at the moment, so I had some photon races out of sheer boredom.

...I heard a really strange and distorted "Hello" in my head over the course of about 20 seconds... I sounded a lot like sgore, so I sent back "Hey, sgore, listen, you have to get that compound I was making and get it onto the big forest thing, then ignite it with a very high temperature flame. You might be able to use magic in this world, so that's probably your best bet. I should be okay for the time being."

I found the fact that i had just communicated with syphonbyte telepathicly pretty cool, but i didn't have time to reflect on it. I grabbed the compound and wondered how i would get a fire started.
"Sticks might work." I thought to myself. and i went to look for some sticks.

As i was looking i tried sending a message to LadyM to help. and also one to oviraptor. (It would have been intresting if i could talk to my dog.)
they didn't even twich an eyebrow. I wondered if i could only send messages to syphonbyte...

I found a couple sticks and went back. "Someone needs to distract it" i said.

Ovi and I will distract it I told Sgore. Not sure how I would do that I guess the easiet thing to do would be to run and taunt it staying safely on the other side of the river. I picked up some rocks and starting chucking them at the creature and calling it names. The creature did not like the distraction, it tried to watch me and sgore at the same time but decided it had to focus on one only. Then I thought of a great distraction.  I took out a couple of the red mushrooms and fed them to Ovi. He grew so big that the creature had to watch us. That dog was huge!!

LadyM's plan seemed to be working. The creature was looking at them with curiosity.
I ran over the bridge and went over to the creature trying to stay out of its field of vision. I ran behind it, and tried starting the fire.
I rubbed the sticks together vigorusly but to no avail. Meanwhile the creature looked like it was snapping out of its initial confusion and was going to attack Oviraptor and LadyM. I don't think they realized that and seemed to be trying to distract the creature still. I may not have been able to warn them but i thought of someone who might be able to.
I closed my eyes and focused. shut out everything and focused deeply on syphonbyte. "The creature is going to attack LadyM and Oviraptor if they don't stop distracting it. I'm having no luck with the fire." That was the message i tried hard to send. I just hoped he got it and could warn one of them.

I kept on rubbing the sticks together.

It looked like we had some new users on the system, so I sent them "welcome packages," known to many as keyloggers. Not that I needed them, but it's fun, you know?

...Evidently sgore was trying to rub sticks together to start a fire. I doubted that this would give a high enough ignition temperature to ignite the compound, but I had an idea. I said into chat: "sgore, get the compound onto the sticks and then rub it together, the second you see a spark THROW THOSE STICKS because they'll burn at around 5000 degrees. Hopefully LadyM and Oviraptor will be okay, I can't really do anything to help them." Or could I? I tried chatting to Oviraptor: "Listen dog, this is the cube. You need to eat as many of those red mushrooms as you can, and none of the purple ones. You'll probably get even bigger than that creature. Do it."

The distraction appeared to be working and Sgore was working hard on getting the fire going but what was taking so long. The dog was doing a good job at distracting the creature when he suddenly stopped like he was listening to something. Then he came over to me and started pulling at my backpack. He nosed around in it and starting eating more mushrooms. He grew bigger and bigger and bigger. Holy smokes, I've never seen any animal so big. I stated backing up and trying to stay out of his way. I tripped over some rocks and fell backwards into a patch of grass and flowers. As my hand went out to break the fall, it touched something hidden in the grass beside a big rock. It was partially in the ground so I had to dig a little to get it out. It was a small book. I brushed it off and read the cover. The Little Book of Spells it said. My eyes got big as I realized I'd found something very important. I quietly tucked it in my backpack and focused back on Ovi, Sgore and the creature.

I got the message Syphonbyte sent me and put the compound on the sticks.
I rubbed as hard as i could until i saw a spark and then i threw it all as hard as i could at the creature.
It landed right on its back. It was almost like watching a forest fire start. The trees started flaming a little at first but then it was like a blazing inferno all over. I was sitting back watching when suddenly i realized the key was still around its neck.

I needed to act fast. I ran over as fast as i could and hoped the creature was occupied enough with the fire on its back that it wouldn't notice me. I jumped as high as i possibly could.
"I'm not going to make it" I thought to myself, as i felt myself about to fall back down and the key was still a good few yards up.

Nothing was going right at all!  The Feaster was aflame, the vermin had exploded in size and now that bit of a girl had discovered one of the secret treasures of the game.  Well, if they want to up the stakes, I'm all for that.  The most bothersome one had just jumped up, trying to reach the key around the Feaster's neck.  Before he landed,  I quickly dialed in a spike trap.  Ha!  Get out of that one, I thought maliciously.  I'll have at least one small victory today even if it wasn't completely fair.

This was crunch time and everybody was trying to save their files at once, it seemed. They never learn. I only let them save 1 at a time so I can conserve processing power. Of course this meant that it would take about 5 hours for everybody to get finished, but that's the price you pay for a cooler system temperature.

...I still couldn't sense anything. I told sgore that he should probably get the key before anything really bad happens, like a bigger fire or something, and I told the dog that he was doing a good job. That would encourage him. I also told him to be careful of the huge flaming tree creature, but I'm sure he knew that. I figured that all was going well, since nobody was telling me otherwise.

Things started happening so fast. Sgore lit the creature on fire and tried to get the key but he fell and now he looked trapped. Syphonbyte was nothing but a pile of jello-y useless goo. What to do now I wondered.  I took out the book I found and started reading. It wasn't very big but it seemed to have some very usefull spells. At closer look, it seemed to have just what I needed. There was a spell for restoring a person's shape or form. I read the spell and looked at Syphonbyte and he suddenly shifted again from the jello form to one I hadn't seen before. A more human shape.  Now we had to figure out how to get sgore out of the trap.

"A spike pit" I thought "Can this guy do anything orignal today?"
I was stuck inside a deep pit. Deep enough that i couldn't jump out, and climbing was out of the question since the walls were covered in spikes.
I was trapped. I wondered if i had anything in my pockets that would help me out. I reached in both and pulled out the card from earlier. I never got a chance to read it before i blacked out. I opened it. It had words printed in big yellow letters.

"Hello" It said. "If you are reading this then you are in "The Game". Welcome! You are player 1. AKA Sgore. To exit The Game you must win. To Win the game you must cross the finish line on the final level. If you are ejected from the game then your soul will be kept in a holding place and your body avalible for use in challanges if the Game Master wishes it so. You will be kept until someone finishes the game. The Game Master Has the Ability to set up The Game's Surroundings, levels, challanges and bring players to the game. The Game master for this game is: Lemurbouy. Good luck and thank you for playing, "The Game" All previous records of preformance in the game are avalible only to the game master and whoever he or she deems fit to see them. I read it over just to be sure. This was really some sort of game. Whoever's idea of a game this was i wasn't sure though. But wait, i was. The note had said. lemurbouy. That was his name.

(ok time I joined in :P, havent read a single post in this so I have no idea whats going on)

The lights went out and a loud screaming noise could be heard. I thought to myself "ah crap, another player has entered the game!, oh well, one more victim for me". Knowing that there was now another person in here somewhere, I crept along the sidewalls, trying to stay in the darkness. I had no idea how much further it was to the end, and I had lost track of time since I awoke here several days ago.
My stealth training from my former master had obvisouly paid off, removing 5 other players from the game already, simply by keeping to the shadows and sneaking up on others.
I had no idea why I had been summoned to this dreadful place, but I knew two things - this was far from over and I had to make it out alive!

I was fuming about everything when I noticed a flicker on the monitor to my left. Grabbing it and peering into it I then left out a huge laugh.  Well, my precious Devilmachine is on his way.  This will prove interesting.  I dialed up his progress and his training had certainly taken root.  Well then, even if they make it into level 3, he'll see they don't get much further.  Leaning back, I felt a little calmer.  Yes...today might be salvaged.  Although the data we had collected was priceless, this had become personal.  I wanted these four to suffer.  They would now.  Oh yes.

I was hoping now that Syphonbyte could now help me figure out how to get sgore out of the pit and get the key. The forest creature was still on fire and distracted so we made our way over to where sgore was trapped. I peered over the edge to see if he was ok and found him reading a piece of paper. There were spikes all over the sides of the trap so pulling him out would not go well. I wondered if there was any way to deflect some of the river water into the pit and we could float him to the top. That is if he can swim.

I discovered an XML RPC vulnerability in one of my components and patched it. Never can be too careful.

...I was rather pleased that I was back to my old self, but I didn't have time to fool around. Sgore was stuck in that spike pit and the creature didn't look very happy about being ignited. I decided that the best course of action would be to have the dog continue distracting the creature while LadyM and I helped Sgore out of the pit. I sent a chat to Oviraptor telling him to keep the creature away if he got too close to us. Then I tried to think of a way to get Sgore out of the pit. "Maybe we can get a thick branch over the hole, and tie a rope to it so he can climb the rope and get out by climbing across the branch," I said to LadyM.

Being huge was an odd.  The giant thing and I were almost the same size. I kept thinking of all these great things to help my master.  Now the thing was trying to harm them again. I would not let it. Just before my master fell in that hole, he tried to get that thing around its neck. I decided to get it myself. It was not hard. I snatched the object in my mouth, and immediatly the thing started to wobble and it fell over. I stood there stupidly with the object in my mouth. What now? I thought.

I looked up and saw hair. a lot of it. I tucked my card back away in my pocket. I wondered where all the hair above my hole came from. I then rememberd Oviraptor's eating the mushrooms.
"But he couldn't have grown that big? could he have?" i thought.
"Hello up there!" I shouted.
I waited for a responce
While i was waiting i thought more about the card.

"What did it mean by that? Previous preformance?" I thought. "Had i been here before and just couldn't remember it? Is that why the fighting seemed so fermilliar and natural?"
One of the walls shifted a little which snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Hey! Guys!" I shouted up louder.

Syphonbyte's idea to get Sgore out was much better than mine with the water and quicker too. I went to find some rope or vines in the forest. Oviraptor had taken care of the creature, he got the key and that made the creature lose its power. Maybe if we could find some vine or rope, Ovi could help us get his owner out.  With more luck on my side, it didn't take long to find a very strong vine growing up the side of a tree. I cut it down and rolled it up to take back to the pit. I threw one end of the rope into the pit and tied the other end around Ovi's neck. He was big enough he could just look over the pit.  "Ok sgore, can you climb up?"

Finally we got Sgore out of the trap. He showed me a card and asked if I got one too. I didn't remember a card but I checked all my pockets just in case. In my back pocket I found it. I had no idea it was even there. I pulled it out and read. It was the same as Sgore's but I was player 12. As a read the final wording at the bottom I realized that mine contained a hint. It was very faint and hard to see but it was there. It said... Combine your skills with that of another, to play alone is certain doom. I told Sgore to check his card again, did he have a game hint too? Maybe he couldn't see it in the dark pit. I also pointed out that his dog Ovi had the key and when I turned to point at him I was shocked to find that he was normal size again. Either the mushrooms had worn off or when the creature fell, it returned him to normal. Either way, I was glad to see him and called him over and scratched his head. I took the key out of his mouth and handed it to Sgore.

"Thank you!" I said.
I took a look at my card. It contained no hint or warning like hers.
"Who knows. Maybe there's just someone looking out for you." i said to her.

I looked at the key a little. It didn't look very diffrent from other keys, execpt for a jagged stripe running down the middle.

I walked over toward the doorway/gateway to level 3. I put the key into the keyhole and turned.
What happened next was amazing. The portal seemed to light up redish pink and started to swirl around clockwise. It was swirling faster and faster. I noticed a red light at the top of the doorway had turned on. The Portal turned purple and started swirling even faster then before Soon it was a blur. Like how a fan looks after it starts spinning really fast. Then it started to turn Blue and kept spinning faster. Color was surging through the blue like lightning bolts in all directions. First Yellow, then Green, then Orange, then White, Then Black. The Black stayed. The black lightning bolt shaped light aganst the blue swirling backround looked very entrancing. I looked up. The light above had turned from red to green. I turned around.
"I think that means we can go." I shouted back.
I stared at it for a little bit. "No use just standing around" i thought.
I jumped in. It felt like i was being sucked up by a vaccume and streched in all directions. I felt like I was everywhere at once. It felt kind of cool. Suddenly a flash of white light and I was on my back. I was able to see by a very dim light on the cealing
I got up and looked around.
It looked like a hotel hallway. Exactly like a hotel hallway. I detemined that ment i was in a hotel. A nice looking one by the looks of it. But something was off. Something didn't feel right. I Turned and saw red spraypaint on the wall. At least i hoped it was spray paint. "Welcome to level 3" it said "First to find the gold ring makes it to the final level. Good luck. You'll need it..."
I felt scared. I felt like i was being watched but didn't dwell on it.  I turned around and waited for my friends.

Sgore was very brave, he went first through the doorway and was suddenly gone. I couldn't see Syphonbyte and I didn't want to be left behind so I decided I better go now. Sgore also forgot his dog so I held on to Ovi's collar and said "Let's go" and we stepped through leaving Syphonbyte behind. We were dumped in the hallway almost on top of Sgore. "Did you find out anything?" I asked.

Fewer and fewer users were logged into this game that lemurboy was running. It was strange, but I figured that more would log on soon enough and payed it no attention.

...The portal was open, so I decided I would be better off going through that sticking around this level. I went through and went through a very strange teleportation process. When I came out I was in what looked like a hotel lobby. This hotel looked very familiar, but I couldn't quite remember where I had seen it before. It was lucky that I had been changed back to my original human form. I walked up to the reception desk and decided that it might be better not to ask here where I was. That would seem out of place. Instead, I went to the elevator and went inside. The buttons seemed to go on forever by the door! They went all the way up to 290. This was strange, though, because there couldn't possibly be a hotel that tall. Of course, this was a game. I decided to go up to the sky lobby on floor 50.

I had just spent the last few minutes saying why i didn't feel comfertable. Besides the fact the light was uncomfertably dim and giving off an eerie glow, I also had not seen one person walk by since we got here. I was not sure if that was a good or bad thing. I also felt a little uncomfertable not being able to see a window. Was it day or night where we were? Of course there ussually aren't  windows in the middle of a hotel hallway but still, it would be nice to know what time of day it was here. Also where was Syphonbyte? Didn't he come through the portal? Did he end up in a diffrent part of the hotel?
"It would probably be a good idea not to stay in one place for too long" I said. "Or at least not this place."
I grabbed Oviraptor's leash and stared walking. Looking over my shoulder every so often to make sure we weren't dissapearing one by one like in horror movies or anything. We came to an elevator. I looked a little and saw we were on the 13th floor.
"great." I thought sarcasticly to myself.
"Let's try a diffrent floor" I said to LadyM as i hit the button to call up the elevator.

I could hear the elevator already creaking up and when it stopped and the doors opened, there was Syphonbyte. I was shocked to see him as I thought he hadn't come through the portal. I asked him where he was going and he said 50th floor. Sounded ok to me so I stepped inside the elevator and waited for Sgore to follow. Just then the lights went out.

As I was walking into the elevator with oviraptor the lights went out. I picked him up and ran in fast. The lights on the buttons were on so that ment the power wasn't out. I hit the close door button fast and they closed. I don't know why but i felt we had just avoided something very dangerous. We started moving up to level 50. I looked around at the scared faces on everyone and knew I had the same face on myself.
"So Syphonbyte" I said. "Did you see what the sky looked like? Is it still light outside?"
It was light in the forest but this whole thing had been set up, according to the card. Who knows what time of day it was here.

(I know this is just imaginary but my heart litteraly has been racing and i've been scared stiff since we "entered" the hotel. With every letter i write i feel like i'm really walking through the halls in the dim and dark light...)

...My processors were grinding and I was relaxing.

"I looked, and it was pitch black outside except for a few streetlights." This was getting very eerie. I could have sworn that I'd seen this place before, I just don't know where. The elevator arrived at level fifty and and a strange female voice said, "Now arriving at sky lobby number one. Please exit the elevator immediately." I said to the others, "We'd probably better do what she says."

As we exited the elevator, we walked into a huge room. There was no ceiling, at least it didn't appear to be a ceiling, the roof looked like the sky at night. There were stars twinkling overhead and the room was still dark. I guess this is why its called the sky lobby. It was then that we heard a shrieking in the sky, distant at first but growing ever closer. Something was flying towards us.

I carried Oviraptor out of the elevator and set him down. I heard a lound screech and looked up. I saw the sky. Which I was confused about a little. in the "sky" and saw something large coming towards us. Its wings seemed to span further then the width of my house. It looked like a large grey flying gargoyle. It was flying very far above our heads. It noticed us and started to come at us fast. I stood paralized in fear. Just staring.

I was a little confused when just before reaching us the Gargoyle melted away and so did the night sky. It seemed to turn into a daytime cloudless sky. I looked around. The elevators were still there and i looked down and saw the same tile i was standing on earlier. I then noticed that outside the area of tile that made up the huge room was what seemed to be a desert. I heard a Roar. I looked and saw a tiger right outside the tile on the desert. Suddenly that all melted away and the room was surrounded by trees. I could hear the sound of rushing water all around. It seemed like a rain forest. Then it all went away and regular walls and a cealing appared.

"Were you watching that?" A voice called from the other end of the room. "Sorry, i find TV Dreadfully boring at times."

They had made it to level three.  There was much more to see but for now, they were in for quite a dillema.  I was enjoying monitoring their progress when suddenly things began to change around them.  More anomalies?  This isn't right.  Not right at all.  I decided not to interfere with the regualar programming and continue watching them.  I also tried to find where the assassin had scurried off to but he was hidden.  Oh well, he would play his part when needed.

This was one crazy room. Everything kept changing all around us. I was getting dizzy and wondering if I ate a bad mushroom by mistake. When the room stopped changing and became a regular room with walls and a ceiling, the lights were back on and a voice spoke to us from across the room. There was a creature I could only describe as looking like a troll. He was short, maybe about 4 feet tall and covered in coarse hair from his head to his toes. He had a huge nose and big eyes and a handlebar moustache that stuck out on both sides for a foot at least. On his head he wore a huge purple wizard hat and in his hand was a wand. "Come, come.. sit, sit" he said and motioned towards a couch near where he was standing. "I'll get some tea."

The hair on my back stood up, but I did not bark. It didn't seem like he would hurt my master, but I still did not tust him. I followed right behind my master and to one side, so I could keep my eye on the man. I wouldn't let him near my master if he tried something bad.

There are other GameMasters there could be hundreds of games going on at any moment, It's very popular. Anyone who owns the game can set one up.  Still most games are done here in the company for a rental fee. Very expensive to buy your own. anyway, No I am not him. I am The one who made this possible. I am the one who set up the whole operating system this runs on. I programmed the possibilities the amazing ability given here to create such wonderful places with ease. Say, Have you ever heard of something called procedural anamation? Very intresting concept. Yes, one of the first people to truly implement its abilities was Will Wright. Changed the world. You know, I actually attened William Wright High School. But that's a compleately diffrent story. Besides, I was about to get you your tea. Please won't you excuse me."
"Wait" i said. This was a little hard for me to take in. "So this is a video game?"
"Well if you must use so primitive terms i suppose, Yes. A very popular one at that thank you very much." he responded.
"Why have i never heard of it?" I asked
"Well probably because it hasn't been invented where you come from." he said. "Wait a 75 years or so. If you're still alive, who knows, try this game out."
"Wait, Are you saying we're in the future?" I asked.
"Well technically speaking not physiclly. Your minds are. Your bodys are still back in your own time. Physical time travil so far is not do-able but mentally its an entirlly diffrent story. I say why can't a fun game be enjoyed by people of all time periods."
"Do all people 75 years into the future look like um..."
"Oh this? Its just my avitar. My favorite one actually."
"Well, how is this game possible? This whole thing must take up so much power! Even with Procedural anamation!" i said.
"The trick there is not keeping it all on one system. Any system my game is on is specially connected to the main supercomputer that runs it. I built it with my bear hands. Very powerful. Its a true real thinking computer. amazing. Nicknamed it 'Syphonbyte' It actually monotors all systems running the game. I got an automatic alert that this user was violating the user aggreement rules. Torturing his players rather then giving them a fun adventure. I can't have that happening now can I? The government still hasn't made a decission on how to handle this game. Time travil is a bit of a new and sticky subject. If anything were to go wrong they would have my neck. I started to let it all sink in. This whole thing was huge! Amazing! I couldn't believe the size of it. But there was something wrong. Something sticking in the back of my brain. I wasn't exactly sure what. I thought for a second. Procedural anamation...Mind Time Travil...Main Super computer. say...
"What did you call that supercomputer?" I asked as he was almost near what seemed to be a tea set that appeared out of nowhere.
"Oh Um.. Syphonbyte." he responded.

I decided to sit down on the sofa.

Damn that blighted old fool! He was giving the game away!  I dialed and dialed but he was blocking everything in this particular region.  Too many aberrations.  Well, he might have them protected now but they were still trapped in the game and couldn't live without winning.  I can still win.  I just need to be patient.  I just sat and watched.  Patience...

As we sat on the couch and sipped our tea, we both kept looking at Syphonbyte trying to take in all that the troll man had told us and wondered if this could be true. If he was a computer, was that a good thing or a bad thing.
"Oh, this tea is really good" I told him. "Thank you" he said, "its my own mix." Oviraptor was lapping up his own tea in a special bowl. The only one not drinking tea was Syphonbyte.  All of a sudden the room started spinning again and everything got blurry. I could hear the Troll talking but I couldn't hear the words anymore. Oh no.. I thought what was in the tea? Then I blacked out.

As I was drinking my tea i kept looking over, both at Syphonbyte and at the man.
I tried to think of something to say. It was a difficult task. Sort of an akward moment for me.
LadyM commented on her tea. I actually thought it was very nice. I heard him say it was his own mix. I was about to ask what was in that tea when suddenly LadyM fainted
I jumped up.
"LadyM?" I asked
I gave her a little nudge. she didn't move.
"What did you put in that tea?" I shouted.
"just some Herbs and a little chamomeal! Nothing that could make her pass out!" he said.
"Then why is she like that?" I asked.
"I don't know what could possibly be causing something like... wait a moment. How long has she been here? in the game?"
"Um... I'm not sure." I said.
"Well think! Has she ever mentioned anything about how long she's been here?" he said.
I thought back.
"I'm pretty sure she was here before me. I'm not sure how long before though. she never actually said anything to me." I said.
"Hold on, I'm going to dial up her records! If I'm right, your friend's life is in jepordy" He said.

He then vanished right before my eyes.
He appeared only a few moments later with an extreamly worried look on his face.

"Its just as i thought." he said.
"What? What's wrong with her?" I said
"She's been here more then 6 months!" he said.
"What's that have to do with this?" i asked.
"The mind can't last this long without the body!" he said. "Nobody is ment to be in the game this long! She's going to die unless she gets home!"
I nearly fainted!
"Why would you build a game that could kill people?" I shouted
"If they're here longer then 4 months they're supposed to be sent home back to where and when they were automaticly, winning the game or not!" he said.
"Well why wasn't she?" I asked.
"The Game Master for this game, Lemurbouy, Must have found some way to hack into that and turn off that feature!" He said "Its worse then I thought, He isn't just torturing people, He's killing them! And Your friend will be next unless you all act quickly!"

When she collapsed, I chuckled.  I thought that shutting off those safety parameters would produce some interesting results but I had no idea that it could kill.  Well, now there's a time limit.  That should work in my favour. -leeman

I detected a very strange response coming from one of the users in the game. I couldn't quite pinpoint it at the moment, but it looked like one of the connections from about 80 years ago was becoming weaker. I decided that this was probably due to the thunderstorm outside and thought nothing of it at the time.

...This old man seemed very, very familiar to me. This room did as well. I felt like I had seen this place before, very intimately, but I couldn't quite place my finger on it. As I was thinking to myself I noticed a commotion and looked over to find that LadyM had fainted, and the old man was explaining that she would die if we didn't act quickly.

"What do we have to do?" I asked him. To some degree I think I already knew what we had to do, though.

Everything was black and I couldn't move my body but my mind was waking up again. I could faintly hear voices that sounded very far off. As hard as I tried, I couldn't move and couldn't speak.. I tried to shout but no words would come out.. they only stayed in my head. I was getting very agitated, I wanted to tell them I was here and to help me. Then I heard a voice. It became clearer and louder and finally I could understand. Who was this? The voice was male and very calm and very familiar.

"LadyM, you are in grave danger. You've been here too long. You must relax and use your mind. You must remember what you have forgotten."
What? What did I forget?
"You have forgotten where you came from and your home. You must remember or you will die"
Great! That was just great! How was I going to do that?
"First, you need to just relax and stop fighting to speak. You must focus your mind and find what you lost."

So I decided to try what the voice said. I relaxed and focused all my energies to my mind. It seemed to be working, the black changed to swirling colors and finally stopped on a pretty blue.. like the ocean. Then out of the ocean was sand ... a beach!!
A little white house came into view and finally I could see inside.  That was my house!! I lived in a little white house near the beach.
I was remembering. I was cleaning the house and I found something on the bookshelf that caught my eye. It was a magazine of sorts containing all sorts of new games that were coming out. I didn't put that magizine there, I'd never seen it before.

There was a card inside. I started reading it when everything around me changed and I ended up in the game.
I was in the game for such a long time, it had sucked my memories away. I was stuck on level one until Sgore came along and everything changed for me.

The familiar voice spoke again.
"Good, you are remembering. You need to retain your memories in order to continue the game. If your forget, you will die. Keep your focus and remember your game clue."

The voice faded away and the colors in my head started changing again. Things got lighter and brighter. I could move again, I opened my eyes and found everyone staring at me. I sat up and told them all what just happened to me and what I could now remember. I looked at Syphonbyte wondering... why was that voice so familiar? Who was this guy?

I was releved she was alive.
"Well none of us will be able to leave unless we cross the finish line on the next level." I said. "But we can't do that till we find the ring on this level..."
I had sort of hoped it would just come to us and we wouldn't have to go looking. 290 floors. this was a huge hotel and eerie.
"Say, could you possibly come with us?" I asked the man.
"No. I would be of no help and just as vulnerable as you. lemurbouy has hacked me out of all floors but this one. I've got one entire computer in my house working hard just to keep him from getting me here." he said.
"So we're on our own with this ring buisness?" i asked.
"Well I was able to pinpoint a general area of where the ring would be, earlier. It was before i entered the game. Just incase something happened and i needed to use the finish line to get out." he said
"Where?" I asked.
"Somewhere on floor 208. Recreational facilities." he said
"Rechreational facilities?" I asked.
"The pool, the exercising room, the bar, the arcade, places like that." he said.
"Oh." i said.
I started thinking where would be a good place to start.
"Let's start with the pool." I blurted out.
I don't know why i wanted to start with the pool. I always liked swimming pools i guess. There was also this little voice inside me. It was mine but it was more like my subconcius. I felt i had to go to the pool.
"Off we go." I thought. "Back into the dark hotel..."

The link that had been weakening earlier suddenly got much stronger. When I looked into the history I found that the link had been active for over 6 months, and declining in integrity ever since. This was very wrong. Links were not supposed to be active for more than 6 months under any circumstances. I checked into the game settings under lemurboy's account and found that he had indeed changed the settings to allow a link to last that long. This was obviously against the Terms of Service outlined when he began renting a server, and I was tempted to KOS him on the spot. However, I reasoned that the links still attached to the game would likely have some severe problems if the server was shut down, so I decided to disable all empty nodes and disable nodes as they became vacant so that I could eventually shut the game down and restore the proper settings. In the meanttime I could punish lemurboy in my own way for altering parts of my system without consent. First I decided that it would be fun to give everybody in the game a nice health restore. Many of the links had been there for a very long time and could probably use it, after all.

...Suddenly I felt invigorated for some unknown reason, just before we stepped into the elevator. It was strange, as though I was in my top form, and nothing had ever happened to me to suggest otherwise. I felt totally refreshed. "Did either of you just feel that?" I asked the others.

Even the dog Ovi looked perky and not so tired anymore. Before I got back into the elevator, I snatched one of the candles from the room we were leaving. We might need this later on. We all got into the elevator and pushed the button for floor 208. On to the swimming pool.

As I was watching this little drama play out, I noticed several changes on all my monitors.  I looked over and people who had been grievously injured were suddenly perfectly fine.  I traced the sudden improvement in health to the Syphonbyte anomaly.  This was too much.  This aberrant piece of code was starting to cause me some serious grief.  Luckily, the players who had already fallen were still trapped in the system.  It would take a sound victory to bring them back and I wasn't about to allow that.  I returned to my main monitor and dialed up the recreation area.  Then I began to dial up new tricks and traps that would make certain doom out of these cheaters.  I dialed up the Mangler, the Gored Feller, a few Mengelas and prepared some reserve nasties just in case.  Suddenly, a spark went off in my head and I dialed up an electrical current to shoot through the pool where the ring was hidden.  There, that'll slow them down.  I steeple my hands together and watched them head to my new playground.

As refreshed as i felt I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss on the ride up. The errieness of the glow off the buttons of the elevator with no other light to be found moved me out of the more calm mood i had felt talking with the man in the sky lobby. I looked up a little and noticed that the elevator showed what floors we were passing. we were already on floor 130. it wouldn't be too long until we went into who knows what on the 208th floor. I looked around at the perky faces on everyone. Had they let their guard down? I certainly hoped not. Everyone needed to stay alert if we were going to get out of this alive. 160. We were moving really fast...

I did not like this room. It was small and the floor didn't make me feel good. The sooner we got out of it the better. I sat close to my master and leaned on him, looking up at him every once and a while. He just smiled back and rubbed my ear, which made me feel a little better. I waited patiently for us to leave this room with the unstable floor.

...Something odd happened inside of the game. Creatures from a totally different level suddenly appeared in the wrong area. I didn't want the experience of the users to be disrupted, but I decided that there was probably a good reason for those creatures to be there. One of my primary rules is to give the user the benefit of the doubt, so I did... for the time being.

...The elevator was moving exceptionally quickly. I still wasn't sure about the idea of going straight to floor 208, but I suppose we didn't have much choice. As the elevator continued up I detected an unusual presence and I grew wary. We would have to stay on our toes now, because disaster could strike at any moment.

The elevator stopped with a jolt. A voice annoiunced from a little speaker inside the elvator. "Floor 208.. watch your step" After that last word, he laughed, very evil and very dark. The door opened and we stepped inside the recreation room. It was very bright due to the all lighting and windows. The windows were too high to see outside but they let in alot of light. The room was done in black and white tile on the floor and white walls. No color anywhere except for the chrome of the exercise machines. It was empty, no one was there and it looked like no one had been there for a very long time. Overhead there was a sign.
[ <-----Pool    Arcade -----> ]  Since Sgore wanted to explore the pool first, it looks like we were heading to the left through the huge white double doors.

As i entered the pool room, i couldn't sake the feeling something was wrong.
I saw the pool. It was a huge pool. It was right in the center of the room. I noticed right in the center of the pool was something shimmering. I looked closely. It was the ring!
I turned around.
"Guys! The ring!" I said with excitement. "Its in The pool!"
I was happy that we had found it. and so easily. Still there was something wrong.
"Wait a minute." I thought. "There was a lot of light soming through the windows. but syphonbyte said it was dark out."
I knew we couldn't have been talking for that long with the man in the sky lobby. Something strange was going on outside.
I told my concerns to my friends.
"I'm going into the hall to see what's up."  i said.
I noticed a small step ladder and took it on my way out.
When i got to a window, i set up the ladder.
I climbed up and was about to look out.
"My gosh its bright." I thought.
suddenly i felt something push me off the ladder.
I fell off and got the wind knocked out of me, but outside of that i was okay.
I looked around for what pushed me.
Right by the ladder i saw some odd clear blobs pulsating. They started to approch me i backed up to the door of the elevator. They stopped just before they got to me. Then one of them started to change, shape and form. It got more solid and more human shaped.
I noticed it was gaining facial features. They looked fermilliar. When it was finally done i realized why. The face, the body, the clothes, it was me.
I, or i mean my copy, walked over to the elevator and pressed the button to call it up.
I tried to think of something to say.
"Um..." were the first words that came out. And it turned to look at me.
I then thought of something more useful to say.
"sorry if this is a rude question, but, what are you?"
"I'm you." it said. "Or at least close enough that they'll never be able to tell the diffrence."
I heard the elevator open behind me.
With an amazingly light effort, he or it, whatever you would call something that just shaped into you. was able to through me into the elevator. My back hit the wall with a thud. This time i was in much more pain then getting knocked off the step ladder.
"Help!" I wheesed out, trying to catch my breath and get up at the same time.
"Is something you won't be getting." It said.
Before i had a chance to get to my feet, it pressed the button for floor 222 and then hit close door. It drew its hand out fast. and the elevator doors slammed shut. The elevator started moving.

While i worried about the horrors that could possibly await me on level 222 I worried more of what that thing might do to my friends.

218. just a few more floors. I let out a sigh.

Suddenly i realized that i didn't have to go to floor 222. I hit floor 220 just in time for the elevator to stop.
"My gosh i'm stupid." I thought to myself for not realizing this earlier.
The doors opened and i walked into a hallway. not too diffrent from the one i was in earlier. Whatever they had in mind for me wasn't going to happen.
Although the hall didn't look too diffrent then the other one, it felt diffrent. It felt calmer. possibly a little safer. I realized i couldn't just press the down button and get back into the elevator. It was going to stop at 222 before it came back down and whatever was on that floor could climb in and be waiting for me in the elevator. If i pressed the call button it would be a dead giveaway what floor i stopped at.

I decided to go looking for another elevator. or a staircase. But first i needed to get something to eat.
I was famished. even though i wasn't truly physically here i supposed that I needed to keep from starving if I don't want to die in the game.
I wondered if their were any mini bars in the hotel rooms. then again, the doors could just lead to death traps. Eigther way, i was hungry. I decided to open the door. I reached for the door knob hoping it was unlocked and it was.
I was shocked when i found myself staring at...A hotel room. An actual hotel room. And a fairly nice one. Not "Suite" nice, but nice. I walked in and found a light switch. I turned it on. The room lit up nicely. Eigther Lemurbouy had done all the rooms like this or i was just extreamly lucky. I found the minibar right under the tv. I was going to see what channels you could possibly get in the future in a hotel in a video game. but i decided to stay focused. Time was not on our side. I opened the mini bar and saw some nice things. A can of pringles. Some assorted candy, some fruit juice bottles.
I took the pringles and a few candy bars. i assumed the other guys might be getting hungry. we didn't need any thing to drink since we had the tea.
I stuffed the stuff in my pockets which i had noticed were very deep. I wondered if this game had some sort of inventory system...
I then went into the hall to look for a way to get downstairs.

We were standing around the pool waiting for Sgore to come back. He left to check out some windows in the other room and it sure was taking him a long time to get back. I didn't want to be the one who had to dive in the water to get the ring. I was hoping he would do it when he got back.  One of us should have gone with him. I was starting to get worried when I saw him stride back in. His walk seemed a little different, not by much. I asked if he was alright and he told me he fell off the ladder but he was fine.

Oviraptor suddenly got agitated, his fur prickled up and he started growling, very low and gutteral. "Shhh.." I said, "its just your owner Sgore". But he would hear none of it. He pulled away from me and continued to growl. "Somethings wrong" I said. "He's never done this before." I looked at Syphonbyte to see if he had any answers. Sgore kept walking towards us. He didn't seem interested in the pool anymore and he wasn't saying much. I was getting a little concerned, what had happened to him in there. I started backing up too and tried to stay close to Ovi.

I was very interested in this connection from user "sgore." It seemed to have duplicated... or at least, on the surface. It seemed to be some sort of copy of him. I figured that this was the product of some magical spell and ignored it.

...Sgore seemed very different. Something told me that this wasn't him, and Oviraptor barking at him was even stranger. "Sgore, is that you? What happened in there?" I asked him. Something inside of me was preparing for a possible confrontation as I awaited his reply.

I walked down the hall keeping my eyes open for a staircase or elevator. I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure i wasn't being followed by anything i wouldn't want following me.

Suddenly i heard a ding in the distance behind me. I heard elevator doors open. I decided to hurry up. I went faster. I started to hear far away footsteps. I looked behind me but saw nothing. I walked faster. The footsteps got closer and louder. I broke into a run. The footsteps sounded only a few yards behind me. I saw a door for a staircase just a little ahead of me. I started sprinting. I looked behind me. There was nothing there that i could see, yet i could hear footsteps. I kept running.
I was about to open the door to the stairs when Something lunged on me throwing me to the ground. I turned myself around to see my attacker, Yet i saw nobody.  I felt weight on me though so i punched at it and threw it off.

I realized then my attacker must be invisible. I ran to the stairs and ran down. The door shut behind me. I ran down the next flight when i heard it open.

Sgore and Syphonbyte were staring at each other, Ovi was growling and barking and things were going wrong very quickly. As Sgore walked over to us I moved over to the left and clumsy me knocked over a table. There was a bowl of fruit on the table and the fruit started rolling and it fell in the pool. There was an electric crackle when each piece hit the water. Oh no, the pool's a trap. We'll never get the ring now. The noise from the pool distracted Sgore and it was then that his body sort of shimmered.. no wonder Ovi was so upset.. that was not Sgore. Where was the real Sgore? As the fake Sgore looked back at us, he realized we knew and he started running towards us. "Let's go" I shouted.

...The avatar I had created seemed to be entering some sort of combat in the game. I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but I had a feeling that he would do well, considering the powerful processing capabilities that he had access to. I was sure that this would turn out to be quite interesting.

LadyM and Oviraptor began to run away as this creature began charging towards them. I feinted right and then charged at him, and felt myself duck a split-second before he tried to punch me. As his fist sailed over my head, I launched a powerful uppercut into his chest, and at the same time his fist came crashing into the hard wall, causing a huge hole. My attack seemed to barely hurt him, and I knew that if his attack hit me, I would be done for, so I would have to stay sharp in this fight and evade his attacks.

I looked behind me as I ran and saw that Syphonbyte was standing his ground and trying to fight off the imposter. "Come on Ovi" I said, "We have to go back and help him." I ran back with my sword drawn but couldn't get a good shot. The imposter was strong and luckily missed every shot he was taking at Syphonbyte. The he suddenly turned to me. I kept the sword in front of me but he still managed to grab my arm. Now he was too close to get with the sword. His grip was very cold and clammy. He started to pull me towards the pool. I resisted, holding the sword with one hand and waiting for good shot. It was then that Ovi lunged at him and bit him on the arm. He let go of me and that was all I needed to get a clear shot. With one swipe I took his head off and it fell to the ground and rolled into the pool. His body fell to the floor and started oozing clear liquid which started forming into a blob. With the help of Syphonbyte, we rolled the body into the pool and it sank to the bottom. Hopefully the electric current in the pool would take care of whatever the blobs were.  Now we had to find the real Sgore. We turned and started walking away.. not noticing that the clear blobs were coming out of the pool and into shapes that looked like snakes.

Run Run, little rabbits, run but soon you will be prey!  The deception hadn't worked but they were split now and there sentiments would force them to try to get back together. More chances to make them lose.  I was going to enjoy this.  I decided to dial out the lights and replace them with a dark, blood red glow coming faintly out of some of the walls.  Decrease their visibility and maybe inspire some terror.  Besides, doesn't everyone love a change of scenery?

I was confused by this sudden mutated lagomorph that had sprung up.  Was it real?  Or was it the fact that I hadn't taken my medication for the last 17 months.  Either way...these things need to be handled delicately.  "Sit in that chair and don't touch anything."  I indicated a rolling leather chair I kept in my observation room for guests.  I suppose he counted as a guest.  Still....

As we were walking the lights went out and then everything glowed a dark red. I was suddenly terrified and a cold chill went through me. Oh this didn't look good.  Luckily the candle I swiped from the room with the little troll man was available in my pocket. I pulled it out and it lit itself. Funny, I didn't know it could do that. It seemed to know when it was dark and needed.  I held the candle up and scanned the room and thats when I saw the snakes coming out of the pool. Oh ****! I scanned the rest of the room and saw a door in the corner. Maybe that was the stairs. I didn't trust the elevator and besides, we'd have to walk past those snakes to get to it. No way!! I grabbed Syphonbyte by the hand and said "Let's stay together and try that door over there." We walked over to the door and opened it.

As the door opened in front of me to syphonbyte, LadyM and Oviraptor, I got some strange looks. Possibly because i looked horrible. I had a black eye and a bunch of bruses. The Invisible Attacker really fought hard against me. There was a silence for a few moments execpt for the excitited wagging of Oviraptor's tail. I decided to break the silence.
"I got us food." I blurted out.
I started pulling it out of my pocket and handing it to everyone. I kept a candy bar for myself and ate it happlily. I was much less hungry afterwards.

After the snack I decded to ask what had happened.
"Did you guys get the ring?" I asked
They remained silent. Oviraptor seemed to trust me but LadyM and Syphonbyte were looking at me with a heavy suspision in their eyes. they hadn't touched their food.
"Guys, what's wrong?" I asked. I thought back to who or what stuffed me in the elevator.
"You don't have to worry, it's the real me!" I said.
Still they're suspision seemed to stay.
"Guys. It is me, Sgore. How can i prove it to you?" i asked.

It took a few minutes for it to sink in that the Sgore standing in front of me was the real Sgore. He had to be. Ovi was wagging his tail and jumping around, happy to see him. Finally some relief washed over me. I hugged his neck. "Boy are we glad to see you" I said.  I told him all about the creature and how Syphonbyte fought it and it ended up in the electrified pool only to become something else and we still didn't have the ring. After telling our story, I started eating the food that he brought. Oh it tasted so good, I didn't realize how long it had been since we'd eaten. All of us soon realized that although we were happy to be togehter again, our troubles were far from over. We still had creatures out there after us. We needed a plan.

It was hard, but I was finally approaching the end of the forest. Hearing the announcement some half an hour ago told me I was in last place. That annoyed me a bit, I was used to always being the best at video games back home. Those "skills" and something I found whilst lost in the forest called "The Slightly-Bigger-Than-Little Book of Spells" helped me get through that evil place. Of course I expected some kind of end-of-level boss, but all that was there was a very large pile of ash and an apparently active portal. Heading towards it I heard the bridge behind me squeak and groan. I turned just in time to see a dark figure, taking careful aim of his crossbow. "Oh, sh-"...

(Thank you to Kishmond who seems to be the only person since syphonbyte entered, to go into the story, actually pay attention to the story so far and decide to make a constructive contrubution.  :) lol.)

Ok, so we needed the ring to get to the final level and save LadyM who may die if we don't act quickly but to do so we, meaning me who had just been weaked by a fight with an invisible Man, LadyM, oviraptor, my dog, and syphonbyte, who may or may not be a computer but seems to have no memory of it if so, have to get past shapeshifting snakes and figure out how to get a ring out of an electricly charged swimming pool, which will somehow bring us to the 4th and final level, in which we would have to face whatever horrors were planned by someone named lemurbouy who seemed to be illigally controling this whole thing. Yeah. This should be easy.

"You told me that it shimmered when it got distracted by the pool." I said "Maybe they really have to focus to keep up their apparences. They're probably most vulnerable in their natural form. We need to find some way to make them lose their focus. then we'll go from there. we know electricity and water won't work aganst them, so let's try something else." I noticed the candle in LadyM's hand. "Maybe Fire..."

Fire!! "That's a great idea" I said. I handed the candle to Sgore and I dug out the Little Book of Spells. I told Sgore how i found it and had used it before and I started reading to see if it had anything useful in it. On page 12 I found what we needed. How to make fireballs. It looked easy enough. We needed to find some rocks and recite a few words. Throw the rock while chanting the words and they would become fireballs. Suddenly I felt a little dizzy. I looked at Sgore and said. "I think we need to go soon".

"-aving cream!", I yelled as I woke up, apparently still in the same place. Still in The Game. Beside me on the floor was a glass container that was glowing slightly, but was empty. Just then I remembered I had found it alongside The Slightly-Bigger-... spell book, and just put it into my pocket without further thought. Examining it I saw writing on the bottom- Resurrection Phial - Death be not the end! Okay, okay, better get moving before whatever that was shows up again. Through the portal, level 3, looked like a normal hotel. A female voice said- "Level 3, please watch your step. Retrieve the golden ring to advance to the final level." Okay, seems easy, but I'll bet it isn't. The elevator opened, and I stared at it, expecting some other monster to jump out at me. There was nothing, though I could've sworn I felt something brush past my left arm. Oh well, stepping into the elevator, I saw it had more than 200 buttons. Oh great, will I have to search all of them?

I noticed another player hads made it into this level.  This was ridiculous.  Wel...maybe not.  I dialed the elevator to drop him off on the same floor and the others and then dialed another set of controls to give a slight distortion to his image to make him resemble some of the dopplegangers.  Maybe that'll be the end of him when he runs into the others.  Yes.  This could be fun.

THIS IS L33+! I thought as the digital man on my screen put his pistol into a physically impossible pocket, to remove twin uzis in mid-air jumping over a chasm in perfectly synchonized animation.  3y3m g0|nG 2 h4><0r, AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!11  I blast away some more mutants, sipping Jolt Cola and munching pizza.  Now I round the corner, and wouldn't knwo know it, I run into a few "humans". 

I guess somebody thought this would be hard, seeing as the dopplegangers look so much like civilians, and you can't kill civilians, right?  Right.  The hallway is filled with the sound of gunfire.  One of them manages to rake me with it's claws, but I quickly have the upper-hand.  Now to find a few medkits...

we were about to act out LadyM's plan when suddenly a huge unnatural looking man pulled out some guns and fired bullets in almost every direction in the room. I was sure we were going to get hit. I saw a bullet come straght for me and go right through me in an odd motion that almost seemed to rip the fabric of space. It passed through out to the other side. I looked and saw not a scrach on me. I felt like nothing had happened. At least Nothing leathal. My heart was beating faster then anything at everything happening. The bullets had a very diffrent effect on the shape shifting creatures. They almost seemed to evaporate and dissapear. In a few moments they were all gone. I looked at everyone else. They all seemed fine. at least. they weren't hurt.

The guy was standing there, looking around the room for something.
Was he another player in the game like us? He didn't seem to be. Almost like he was more powerful, but in a scary way. Like he didn't care what happened. like if he died here he could just close a game window and go somewhere else.
I tried to search for the right words to say.
I decided to go with:

"What the Heck just happened?!"

I wasn't able to get an answer to that though, because suddenly the elevator doors opened, and inside seemed to be a guy who looked like that thing did when it had morphed into my shape.

I try blasting through the newcomers again.  Nope, must be NPCs.  I take a closer look: it's a man and a woman.  Guess I have to save them or something.  I open dialog and type -heck-.  No response.  They just look at me weird.  n00Bz.

"Stupid parser!!"  I yell outloud.  Suddenly the elevator door opens to reveal an ordinary, average looking man.  Another NPC?  Only one way to know!

The sceen is again filled with flashes of gunfire. Too bad I'm nearly out of ammo..

The guy decided not to answer my question apparently. I was still curious as to why the bullets didn't harm us but it did hurt the shape shifters. I wondered if this guy couldn't hurt people from outside the game.
 With seemingly no real change in expression, he turned to the elevator and started firing at the guy that looked a little like those things. The bullets went through him the same way they had gone through me. They seemed to have no effect on him. But then if i were right that would mean he wasn't from the game. He was an outsider like Me, LadyM, Syphonbyte and Oviraptor. I looked around at everyones faces. They were still just as stunned as me at what had been going on. Though Oviraptor and Syphonbyte had been quiet for a while...

So much was happening that I was standing there stunned. Just when were going to try the fireballs on the creatures, this strange man came in shooting at us. It's a good thing the bullets had no effect because I would have been dead with my slow response time. And why was he calling us n00bs?

Another player had joined us too, he didn't look like us when he first appeared but the bullets didn't harm him either and after he was shot at.. he changed back into his normal form.  I did notice however that the bullets killed all the creatures so we no longer needed the fireballs. Too bad, I was hoping to try them out.  We still needed to figure out how to get the key out of the pool. Maybe the new player had some ideas, I noticed he was holding a book that looked bigger than mine. Perhaps his book had some answers I didn't.

The other guy finally stopped shooting and stood there and said Hi. He said his name was Leng. I waved at him.  Ovi was by my side, very quiet so everything must be ok for now. I kept one hand on Ovi's head as it made me feel safer.  I don't know why Syphonbyte hadn't spoken in awhile. Though he was walkng along with us, his mind was somewhere else.  I looked at Sgore.. "I don't think we have much time. Any ideas?"

I don't even bother a glance at the window to see if it's night or day, but a familiar ache tells me I'll have to go to the bathroom.. in about half an hour.

As the elevator opened I was greeted by an odd sight, two men, a woman, a dog, and a... thing holding guns... they were all just standing there. I noted a little too late the gun-toting.. was it human at all? .. thing was aiming at me. It shot and of course I tried to dodge it, but who can dodge bullets? The bullets just went straight through me and embedded themselves on the inside of the elevator. I was stunned for a second. Was I dead? Eventually I came to my own senses and walked forward a bit. Now words appeared above the odd looking one's head. Strange words, like h0+L3nG4u... wtf? anyway the others seemed to be trying to figure something out. I cleared by throat and said, "Urm.. does anyone here.. know where I can find.." My question was answered before I could finish, all of the normal-looking humans were staring at the pool, or rather at the thing in the pool, the ring! "Well," I said to no-one in particular, "why doesn't someone just get in...?" I slowly reached my foot toward the surface...

NO!!! I shouted to the new guy. "Don't put your foot in there, the pool is electrified.. you'll be killed" He suddenly stopped with his foot hanging above the pool and started to teeter like he was going to fall in. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him back. We told him the whole story and the problem with the pool. During our chat, he told us his name was Kishmond and how he got to be here.

The giant guy started talking. I could only make a little sence of what he was saying and oddly enough it seemed to be captioned above his head. His grammer and social skills left something to be desired. When he said his name, the way he pronounced it it came out sounding sort of like Leng. I couldn't read what ever it had said above his head so i just hoped Leng Would work.

"I'm Sgore" I said to leng. "That's LadyM. The guy there is syphonbyte, and right there is my dog oviraptor. I'm not sure who that guy is though." I said pointing at the guy in the elevator who started walking toward the pool.

"If i had any idea where any of those things you said could possibly be, I would so tell you, but i don't. Sorry." I finished.

LadyM shouted and kept the guy from the elevator, from touching the pool just in time.
While we got to know the guy who's life ladyM had just saved (who's name was apparently Kishmond) Leng nearby seemed to overhear our story.

I decided to ask these guys if eigther of them would like to join our little unoffical group. I hoped that they would. There's strength in numbers...

Without waiting for an answer I reholstered my empty uzis and pulled a sniper rifle out of my jacket in a physically impossible, smooth animation.  I hated to waste sniper bullets, but it was all I had left other than my pistols and a few grenades.  I scanned the area, waiting for the cutscene to start.

"Hold on, hold on, maybe there's something in here that can help." I indicated my SLTL spell book and started flipping through the pages. At the front there were simple spells that I had used before, but as I got closer to the end they got more complex. At last, on page 87, I found a title- Levitation Spell. Looking down the page I saw, unfortunately, this-

"What the... anyone know Japanese?" I looked around desperately. At this point I couldn't help but wonder whether or not all of us will get to the last level if there's only one ring. Maybe if we all touch it at the same time...? I decided that wherever this group goes, I would go. They seemed to know what they're doing if they were the ones who defeated the level 2 boss. Besides, this place was creepy, this whole game was.

This was not going well. These two new players were not helping me in the slightest.  At least I have the final level.  The Tower.  No-one's been through the tower except for the poor fools who "Beta" tested all the dangers therein.  Their writhing consciouses were delightfully present on monitor 42KY-9G.  Ah yes, soon I'll have even more and my game will play on and on forever.  Glory to me in the highest, I thought.  This is better than any godhood.  I recalled something I once read about being better to rule than serve but I forget the context.  Oh well, back to the game.  Out of boredom, I dialed in a swarm of bats to plague them for a bit.  Petty, I know but it's what I do.

Since I only knew how to say hello and thank you, In Japanese, and neigther of those words seemed to be there, i decided to look for a fusebox.
I saw a grey metal box with a key hole on the wall on the other side of the pool room.
"That might be it" I said to Leng. Pointing at the wall.
I looked back at Kishmond who seemed lost in thought trying to decifer whatever the spell book said and wondered if i could be of any help.
I looked at the letters and I noticed something intresting.
"Kishmond, it is in english its just..." I didn't get to finish my sentince.
I was cut off by a screeching noise right behind me. I turned around.
The Double white doors seemed to burst open and a horde of screeching bats flew in.
"wonderful." I said sarcasticly to myself

(I'm coming into the story!- ----and I actually read it!)

 How could it have gone so wrong! My lifes work ruined by a single rougue gamer. all those years i speant writing code and structuring the faceting for endless possibilities i hoped my new game would hold. It was all I could do to sit by the fire and feel guilty as I could not sleep at night knowng what was happening to all the gamers on the supercomputer.

   I felt compelled to do something after i left the brave group on level 50. and Lady M had to be saved quickly if only i could retrieve syphonbot from the world and bring lemurbouy to justice

    All the while i was monitoring the progress of the disaster and wondering how the heck Leng materialised. Was there a mistake in The programme or did lemurbuoy hack the system again and mutilate my precious code.

Suddenly a flood of bats sweeps into the room.  I know exactly what to do.  Putting my legs fully behind my body, I ready my hands on mouse and keyboard and prepare to leave my body.  My avatar secrets the sniper rifle in his pocket, then stylistically takes off his sunglasses.  Drawing a carbon-nanotube Katana, I face the swarm, slicing through the air in a procedural sword-stroke generated by the motions of my mouse.  The Katana quickly becomes red with blood...

Bats?? Thats the best they could do? At this point, getting to the end might be easier than I thought. Then one flew in my hair... ok, maybe bats were an annoying choice. I screamed as they flew around me and I finally got the one out my hair but he took a chunk of hair with him.. OUCH.. little bugger bit me too. I looked around and saw everyone fighting the bats. Even Ovi was barking and nipping at them. Leng seemed to taking care of quite a few so I took his lead and pulled out my sword and went to work on the bats around my head. I was doing well until I started feeling dizzy again.. we need to hurry.

Everyone seemed to be doing a good job fighting off the bats, but this was a time consuming effort. The quicker we got the ring out, the better. Time was not something we could waste at this point. I looked at LadyM, she seemed to be doing a good job but sudden looked a little woozy. I went over to the open spellbook. The thing was, the spell wasn't in another language, it was coded. sort of. The letters were only partialy written. So instead of an e there were three horizontal dashes. Instead of an H There was what seemed to be a Sideways T. All we had to do was complete the letters.

I decided I couldn't take this much longer Why wasn't sypgonbyte responding to my programming commands it was time to take matters into my own hands. I built this game so by logic i should be able to control it's content.

I stood myself up grabbed my coat and stepped into my private hovercar in the driveway. It was the latest model and quite a quck one too. I managed to reach the holding centre for the programming hardware in under and hour.

I sat myself down in the immense swivel chair and started the colossal machine up. Everything wirred and beeped for abaout a minute and everything clicked into place. I lost no time trying to locate lemurbuoys network file. I found it in a jiffy and quickly started searching through. How far had this gone??  I searched for programme modifictions in his file ind they were dated six months previously. Around about when the game came out. I checked through his other records to find that He had found out about this game 3 years before it's release and was a regular memeber of the fan board. I quickly came to the conclusion that he went mad thinking about the possibilities of my game in the three years he speant waiting, I remember this happening before in the great Spore scandal where hundreds where sent to psychiatric institutions and given free copies of the game afterwards(always like to put a referance in ;))

  I then needed to go through his save files to find out what monstrocity he was running from his hideout. But in the meantime I decided to warn the gamers in his games I overode his programming and spoke directly into the tanoy ' Message to all players. This is Sporaholicomg99 the game creator. an illegal monstrocity is going on here and you will all be safe as soon as I can get you out of there. In the meantime, don't do anything stupid. And i also disclose my warm regards to sgore, Lady M and Ovi good luck evryone stay calm!'

Ithen obliterated the bats and shapeshifters and began dailing the interface for answers.....

Uhh, illegal? Oh ****!  I had to h@><0R three firewalls to get on this server!  Luckily none of my remotes have been breached, or my software would alert me.  And I'm still on the server, so either they can't boot me, or they're foolishly trying to backtrack me.  Good luck getting through twenty remotes before I pull the plug.

Another thing: these characters are PCs.

Ah, chaos is always fun and I was enjoying what little pot-stirring I could until I noticed a warning flaring up over all the systems aimed at all the players.  It was that thrice-damned programmer!  He somehow got logged back in and was daring to ruin my game!  Well, I'm in charge now, not him.  He wants to play, we'll play.  The first thing I did was completely lock down the final level.  He wouldn't touch it.  Castle Perilous was mine and mine alone.  Luckily, I had completely altered it from the triumphant final stage he had originally designed so it would be completely unfamiliar to him.  Gone were the gorgeous vistas and soaring creatures of legend.  Now it held...a new brand of darkness that even he couldn't foresee.  I set up barriers to prevent him from seeing where the code was originating, not that he'd appreciate it even if he knew.  Then I began to dial up every conceivable danger for the players still stuck in the first level.  He seemed to care so much for them, let him deal with them.  With more and more players still popping in, I had a nigh unlimited source of tormentables.  In some areas, the ground parted and people fell into infinite abysses, others became frozen in time, experiencing life as nothing but pins and needles.  I tore through the levels, setting players against others.  They all didn't have the mettle of this group.  I was so distracted dialing in my revenge that for a moment I paid no attention to Pool room.

All of a sudden the room went quiet. All these bad things just seemed to disappear. I went over to the pool and sniffed the water. It smelled bad and I could hear it crackle when the waves lapped ip on the sides. I looked up and scanned the room. In the far corner, where no one had paid any attention, there was a low bin. It was about twice as long as me one way and about as long as me deep. I walked over there and found the hinged lid to be jst below nose height. I lifted the lid and found abunch of pool equiptment. I found a small beach ball and grabbed it with my mouth, making sure not to puncture it with my sharp teeth. I carried it towards the pool and dropped it in. At first it crackled, but that quickly stopped and the ball just sat there floating like nothing had happened to it. I looked around to see if anyone else had noticed.

I was stumped. For some reason I couldn't access the final level which i needed to to stop lemurbouyin his tracks. I then decided it was the correct action to delete the level from the system, meaning players on level three would finish when they found the ring. i also birng syphonbyte back into full operation since he wasn't being much help in the game. it meant i could also get the answers i wanted.

   As for lemurbouy. I think i need to fight him face to face, his weakness. Any idiot can meddle with programmes but it takes guts to fight fist to fist!

Just need to wrap up things here *Made the ring uberhuge and conveniantly propped up a sign so that all players knew they all had to touch it at the same time to finish the game.(otherwise it doesn't fit)* and *Altwered the program so that the server so that no more players were recruited I sent an email to all players online hoping it would get around this would put a stop to lemurbouys torture games*

A lot of things happened one after another. A horde of bats flew through the doors, but I didn't really mind that, I actually liked bats. Then Leng started to plow through the flock with a long sword. That. Was. Gross. sgore pointed something out in the spellbook, but before I could see what, a voice sounded through the room telling us that whatever some lemurboy was doing was illeagal and he would try to put a stop to the game. That was good news, but not a good reason to stop trying to get the ring out of the pool.

Then there was silence, no bats, no voices, no screams. Just the gentle crackle of the pool. I heard a bit of a rumbling, or maybe it was a whooshing, or maybe it was nothing. The ring then instantly grew in size to fill the entire pool. Then that voice said that we all had to touch the ring at the same time, confirming my earlier thoughts. Breaking the silence, I said to the group, "As long as it's touching the water the ring is still electrified. We need to get it out."

The level was gone....deleted.  Everything I had worked on.  No! This can't be!  There had to be some way to program in a final level.  But there's no time, the players were just about to touch the ring and they'd win the game.  Everything was about to end.  I had no time!  Then I realized, I could use the Source.  I had used it to flavour the final level but I could just crank up the intensity and have it create the level for me.  The Programmer couldn't delete it because it would be constantly streaming from the subconscious minds of the defeated gamers.  Mixing their nightmares with the procedural engines of the game.  The players would be trapped in boundless horrors.  I would be the victor.  I dialed it al in and set it in motion.  The programmer couldn't stop the game now.  It would continue forever!

Oh this is enough!!!!!!!! Something must be done!

I linked lemurbouy's IP to his ral estate address and was on my way in seconds.
I wa quite curious as to where the hovercraft might take me once i dailed the address. i was also wondering what the hell was going on inside the game*hint*   

After a whirl of sky i found myself landing in what seemed like a normal street 18th street to be precise i lost no time in rushing inside number 66 and bursting through the upstairs door.

'Now don't do anyhting rash lemurbouy, er..... I trust you know who I am........'

I looked in one of my monitors, the one that showed my apartment and someone had bursted in and screamed at where I suppose they thought I should have been.  I instantly notified the police and alerted them to this violation.  What a strange looking man.

As suddenly as they appeared, the bats disappeared. Things were happening fast and furious. What a rotten time to be feeling dizzy. I put my sword away and sat down in the corner of the room to rest a minute. Sgore and Kishmond were looking at his spellbook, Ovi was digging something out of a box by the pool and I don't know what the heck syphonbyte was doing. He was way too quiet lately. Maybe he short circuited or something. I sat there and continued to watch the dog as pulled out a ball and dropped it in the pool. Suddenly the ring grew in size but the noise in the pool had stopped.  "Hey guys".. I said "I think the pool might be ok now, who wants to test it?"

"Man i gotta pay attention more." I thought to myself.
"I'll...test it i guess. Someone has to. But could we shut off the fuse box first, just incase...um..."
I decided i didn't want to think about it...
I walked over to the grey box.
I tried opening it. It wouldn't budge.
"Of couse not." I muttered to myself. "That would just make things easier for us..."

No one seemed to notice me, so I decided to go back to the box and get it myself. Inside the was a medium sized inflatable raft. With my teeth, I grabbed the string and puled. I was hard to do and I wasn't really getting anywhere. Every time I pulled on it it just got caught on the lip of the box. If I had hands and arms I could lift it over, but all I have is my mouth, so I just kept pulling.

I noticed that dog, Oviraptor, struggling with something over by a bin. Walking over there, I saw he was trying to pull the cord on something inflatable. I took the mass of rubber out of the box and pulled the cord out. In a few seconds there was a full sized life raft on the floor in front of me. Okay, Ovi wanted to do something with it. He was a smart dog, I could tell. I wonder... I slid the raft into the pool. There was no noise. If the pool HAD been electrified, would it have made a noise? It was probably made of rubber after all...


Virtual rubber. I wanted to keep telling myself that this whole thing was just a game, but it wasn't just a game. (Except maybe to the Deus Ex-looking guy with the katana.) I needed to be more careful, and not get hit in the head with another arrow and/or other lethal projectile weapon. That was bad.

The box stayed without even a scrach on it.

"Now then." I thought to myself. "Key, key, my kingdom for a key..."
I decided to keep looking around. I noticed something a dull silver color laying in the bottom corner of the pool. I looked closely and saw...it was the key.
"Great." I thought to myself. "A catch 22. That was of no help."
I then noticed Oviraptor and Kishmond were sliding an inflatible rubber raft into the pool.
"That could work." i said to myself.
I walked over.
"Looks good." I said. "But if we all need to touch it at the same time to get to the next level. We'll all need to be in the raft."

Since everyone was helping with the newly found raft, I got up.. a little unsteady and  walked over to help also.  I wonder if anyone has thought of draining the pool? How long would that take? I wasn't sure the raft would hold all of us but looks can be deceiving.

As LadyM started to walk over, Leng got into the raft. I decided to get in next. I got in and sat down. I looked around. It seemed to support our weight without even bobbing. It was solidly holding us. Everything seemed like it was going to work out well.
but unfortunatly It was then i realized we had a minor flaw with this...

"Guys...we have nothing to paddle with..." I said.

Despite Leng being hard to understand, everyone was able to read it above his head. They all got in and we pushed off towards the ring. Which by now was big enough to be under.

When we were finally under it it seemed like a large golden arch.*

"Ok is everyone ready?" I asked.

*(That's arch, not arches, no McDonalds here as far as i know. lol.)

I pondered about asking Sgore if I could take he dog home with me. I had grown rather fond of him. If we were really going home that is. What if we touched the ring and something else happened???

I started the countdown.

"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...Go!" I shouted

I Touched the ring and started to turn around to see if everyone else had. It was hard to see what everyone else was doing though. The ring had started to shine, getting brighter and brighter. I had to squint my eyes to make out anything. Suddenly there was a flash of light and I couldn't feel the ring anymore. For that matter I couldn't feel the raft anymore, everything dissapeared, and it all got dark.

I felt myself hit the floor hard which was odd because I hadn't felt any sensation of falling beforehand. I got up slowly, rubbing my back. I saw everyone just a few feet away. I started walking over. I looked around. It seemed a little like the first level only there was no light from anywhere, yet i could see LadyM and everyone else as if it were clear as day.

"Hey, you guys all ok?" I asked.
I didn't get a response.
"Guys?" i said.
Nobody said anything. They all seemed faced away from me. Their eyes transfixed on something. I looked where they were looking, but saw nothing but dark.
"Could anyone fill me in as to what's so intresting over there?" I asked.
Nobody moved or said a word.
"Come on guys, you're starting to creep me out." I said with a nervous chuckle.
I Tried to Turn around LadyM. She dissapeared into thin air along with oviraptor.
"What the?"
I tried turning around syphonbyte. He dissapeared too.
Were any of them real?
I turned around Leng and Kishmond.
They both dissapeared too.
"Were those all just Illusions?" I thought to myself "Where were the real ones?"

With all of the whatever they were, gone, there was nothing i could see around me but darkness, and my own breath. I suddenly realized that it was very chilly here. I looked around. Darkness In all directions.
"Am I all alone here?" I thought to myself. I started to get scared. "Where's everyone else?"

Ha! They'd done it and now they were trapped in the madness of their fellow players.  I tried to dial in and see what I could do and realized I had no control here.  This area was completely under the control of the unconscious players.  Well, this might prove a problem but for now, let's see what horrors the human mind can wreak.  The blackness was starting to melt away and I could only see the one named Sgore whose surroundings were starting to come into focus.  It was hard to make out.

I fall about a foot onto the hard metal floor.  The room is brightly lit, technological, antiseptic.  Like a hospital on the Death Star.  Hordes of shrimpy aliens with guns chirp around me.  They spray blue blood in all directions as I let loose with machine gun fire.  They try to fight back, but I effortlessly dodge their shots.  About half of them are dead before I have to duck behind cover and let my shields recharge.  I spend a moment reflecting on the fact that I didn't have shields before, and the chirping aliens can't be reconciled with the earlier plot about mutants, and that the game has mysteriously come to resemble Halo 4, released several years earlier.  That the mouse and keyboard have disappeared, and that I am no longer inside my body, does not even register on my senses.  Once my shields have recharged, I emerge from cover, toss a grenade, duck back, toss, duck, toss, duck.  Most of the shrimpy things are dead in seconds.

I emerge into the open to finish them off, only to watch them flee before a huge hulking THING entering off a stereotypical vaulting walkway over a bottomless pit.  I holster my guns and pull a large jackknife from my belt....

Poof! Suddenly I was in the middle of a vast rolling field of grass and wildflowers. There were beautiful white bunnies everywhere, hopping cheerfully in the cool afternoon sun. I got exited; I began to chase down the bunnies. They screeched in terror as they tried to flee, but it was quite easy for me to take them down. One-by-one I hunted down the bunnies; as soon as I got one, I went for the next. I did not know where all these bunnies came from, but I ienjoyed every second of junting them down.

The darkness lifted. The Darkness, but not the cold.

I looked around. I was on a mountain. It seemed almost engulfed in snow. At least, on the top. I could see whole chains of mountains like the one I was on, surrounding me. I looked up to see a deep blue clear night sky. There were very few stars out.
"Was this the final level?" I thought to myself thinking about the message I had seen when we had entered the hotel.
"If it is then where are the others?"

I looked down the mountain, Snow covered most of it. Much Further down I could see some pine Trees around the Base. I couldn't see any movement though.

"Hello?" I shouted. "Anyone there?"
I stopped suddenly.
"What if i start an avalanche?" I thought to myself in horror.
But I stopped myself from worrying very shortly after.
You would have to be much louder then that to start a real avalanche.
"Can anyone hear me?" I shouted
No response.
I decided that If i stayed up here I would freeze. I looked around for a break in the chain of mountains. Somewhere to go. I couldn't exactly climb over all the mountains.
My eyes came across a Fairly large gap between a couple mountans about a few hundred feet from the base of the one I was on. I started to walk down the mountain.

After touching the ring, there was a whooshing sensation, then my personal internal Universe switched off. I was in a dark room. Oh no, I thought, was this what happened when you died? I reached out in front of me. I still couldn't see anything, but I felt a silky curtain...

Then my brain caught up with (virtual) reality. I was in a dimly lit room, at least it wasn't pitch black. It was so big, I couldn't see any walls or corners. Wandering around aimlessly, I realized the ground was made of a sort of wooden material, but it was metallic at the same time. The blackness where the ceiling should be opened up, onto an alien sky. There was a large planet in the sky, I could see lights from here. Behind the planet was... it looked like a skull, but it was hardly recognizable. I didn't actually see it, but a memory was in my head that was not there before, telling me there was a skull there. The same phantom memory told me there were platforms and high pillars here. I still didn't see anything. I wandered around between the platforms that Were Not There, and heard a distant screeching. Terror and realization dawned on me at the same time, this was the dream I had the last night before I was taken into the Game. That meant the screeching was... I slowly reached onto my back and grabbed a gun that Was Not There...

After a while, I reached the base. It was warmer down here. But not by much. I was still very cold After getting through the trees I realized that snow covered most of everything on ground level too.

I started to make my way to the break in the mountains. The snow turned out to be deeper then I had assumed, so it took me a little while longer then i had expected it would. When I finally reached there, I looked ahead for where to go next. I couldn't see any shelter from where i was standing, and it looked like more snow was starting to come down to add the the pile already on the ground.

Something in the distance caught the corner of my eye. I saw smoke coming from what seemed to be a cabin in the distance.
"Well if there's smoke then there's most likely a fire" I thought to myself "and if that's the case then there probably had to be people to start that fire."

So I made my way through the snow toward the direction of the cabin. With each step I took The Snow Coming down became heavier and it became harder and harder to walk. I could still make out the smoke coming from the cabin as i got closer, but it was getting much colder, and much harder to see. I didn't think I would last much longer if i didn't get to that cabin soon.

I kept walking. The Snow was so heavy now I couldn't even see the smoke. It stung my face so i kept my head down. I just knew what direction the cabin was in and hoped i was walking the right way to it.

Finally I, or at least my head, hit the cabin. The snow let up enough that i could see around the cabin and find the door. I looked inside a window. It looked fairly clean and comfertable inside. Not a make shift log Cabin, but actually a very nice seeming one. There was a sofa by the fireplace with some throw pillows on it and what looked to be a little tv. In one corner. There were a couple doors, which i assumed led to a bathroom and a bedroom, And there was also a semi-mini fridge by one wall. It looked like a nice place where someone would go on vacation. I made my way to the door.

Suddenly I heard wolves howling in the distance. I nearly jumped over to the door and started knocking.
The wolves howled again. They sounded closer this time. I knocked harder.
Nobody was answering the door. I figured that if someone had been on vacation here, something must have happened to them. I tried not to think about what.
The wolves howled again. They sounded only yards away from the cabin.
I yanked the doorknob, and the door opened suprisingly easily. It was unlocked.
I ran inside, and slammed the door shut making sure to lock it behind me. I went around and made sure all the windows were closed. I went into the other rooms which, much to my expectation, were a fairly nice bedroom and bathroom, and closed the windows there. I was safe. For now...

Another bunny! This was my hundreth or so bunny, and there were still bunnies everywhere. I was ready to attack the next one when I noticed a black one. I stopped. All the bunnies I'd seen so far had been white and hopping blissfully unaware of my presence. This one just sat there, chewing and staring blankly into nowhere.

Suddenly I realized that all the other bunnies were gone, and I was in the center of an cold, dark forest. The trees were massive and twisted their ancient, twisted branches reached so high that they blocked out the sun. Brush and ferns were scattered amidst the gnarly esses of the burrowing trees' roos. The smell of decomposing leaves drifted to my nose and made it twitch. The ground was damp and soft, and I could feel moss on under the pads of my feet. The only sounds I could hear were the rustling of the the leaves as the breeze passed through them.

The black bunny just sat there, as if he was unconcerned at how erie this place was. He started to move; he hopped lazily of behind some brush, so that he was hidden from view. I followed him. Dead leaves crunching underfoot as I went passed a large dead oak. He always seemed to dissappear just as I sound him again. I kept following.

  They were getting closer. Unfortunately, They were definitely There. I remembered everyone else on the raft, where were they? I would find that out later I guess. There was a low rumbling behind me, I turned and saw one of Them moving towards me slowly, but with an air that said They would keep going no matter where you turned. I had never been truly frozen with fear, but now I was. I was thinking to myself, this is stupid, shoot, SHOOT.

  A golden blur came from the right and hit the being. That was all it was- A Golden Blur, in text. I knew instantly what it was, there were werewolves here too. It had obviously killed the Thing, because it had collapsed and dissappeared. Okay, I thought, next time I see one, I'll shoot it. Yup. Definitely.

  As I walked on randomly, I turned a corner and saw a Thing, facing his back towards me. It was dead in seconds. Laughing to myself, I heard another screech. Wheeling around, there was nothing. Two more squawks, there had to be more than one. I slowly started to run. As I heard another roar, I picked up speed, firing randomly. I knew they were for me now, such an act of aggression and fear does not go unnoticed. Then there was a growl, but not of a Thing, of the werewolf. It was the type of growl that early Man heard at the back of dark caves. There was another growl, the kind that late Man heard just before becoming late, and a horrible tearing sound. I kept running.

  Then, there was that howl, it only made me run faster. The werewolf was in front of me. Don't ask how it got there, it just Was. I had a feeling it didn't like the Things, and wanted to help me. Was there such a thing as good-intentioned werewolves? It turned and ran off, with me following it. It turned invisible corner after corner, until just vanishing at a point exactly like the rest of the giant room. I walked forward cautiously, until hitting a resistance, like walking up a waterfall, I pressed on.

  Suddenly everything was cold, and white, and whistling.

I was sitting on the sofa. The howling had stopped a while ago but i was still fairly tense. I still had no idea where everyone was or what we should be doing. In all the other levels we had some sort of direction.

I decided to turn on the TV. I didn't think anything would actually be on, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

I saw the remote on the mantle above the fireplace. I took it off and sat back down.

I flipped on the TV. I was suprised that the picture on the TV wasn't snow. In fact it took me little while to realize what i was starting at.

I saw a the back of a sofa, with a guy on it, watching TV. I could see the back of his head and He wasn't doing much else but that. I decided to lay down. He did too.
"That was odd" I thought to myself.
I sat back up. He did too.
"Hmmm" I said to myself.
I went to the left. He did too. I scooted to the right. Same with him.
I waved my hands in the air, and confirming my suspicions, he did too.
It was me. The Guy on the Tv was me. I knew i was probably being watched throughout this by Lemurbouy ever since i had found out about him, and somehow this Tv must have been picking up the same signal that's locked on me.

I looked around the room a little more. I noticed something on top of the mini fridge.
I walked over and Picked it up. It was a channel Guide. Like the kind you would find at a hotel.

I took it back to the sofa and looked at it.
Next to each number there were names.
It seemed to skip a lot of numbers.
I was at number one of course.
The List Read down like this:

I assumed that since he came in with me Oviraptor was sort of close to the same frequancy as me.
Looking down the list I also assumed h0+L3nG4u was leng. I remembered the weird looking words in the bubble above his head.

The only name on there i didn't know was "A. James"

I flipped the channel up one.

I saw Oviraptpor, who seemed fine. He was in a forest. One that seemed fairly errie though. He seemed to be looking for something.

I flipped up a channel. A 30sish looking guy in a buisness suit was, it looked like, in the hotel we had recently gotten out of.
"Too bad he's stuck there till someone finishes the game" I thought to myself. "Well, at least it seems like he's staying out of harms way."

Before I flipped up I could have sworn I heard a Snarling noise.

The next channel, which was supposed to be syphonbyte, was just snow. As in TV snow, not real snow.
I flipped up again.
It was the Same was LadyM's channel.
Apparently their frequancy wasn't coming in.
Of course if I couldn't see them, then Lemurbouy probably couldn't see them, and if that was the case, they were probably safer then me.
I looked at the guide. Leng's was next. I was about to flip up, when i noticed that A. James listing had dissipeared. I flipped down to his channel but it skipped right over and went to oviraptor seemingly ready to pounce on a black bunny. I flipped up and the channel was skipped again. It was gone.

I looked at the list. There seemed to be a lot of empty space on it. I tryed not to think of the fates of the others who had dissipeared off the list and who's minds were stuck in some sort of suspended anamation.
"As long as someone wins everyone gets freed" I thought to myself.

I flipped up to leng's channel.
he seemed to be thrashing some giant evil looking thing, in the middle of metalicish looking room. It looked like things were going fine for him though.

I flipped up one more to Kishmond, and saw a lot of snow. Real snow, not Tv snow. It was snowing very hard where he was. From the way it looked there was snow covering most of the things around him. I saw a very fermilliar mountain near him.
That's when i realized, he was at the base of the mountain I had been on!

Eventually, the bunny led me to the edge of the forest. Here the trees were all dead or barely alive. The leaves and moss covered ground gave way to sand and rocks. The trees got shorter and farther apart. It was getting hot and for the first time I could feel the hot sun beating down against my fur.

Then the forest gave way, revealing a vast rocky desert. Dead brush was scattered arbitrarily between the dry burnt rocks, scorched by the intense heat the sun gave off. The only sounds here were the low howl of the desert breeze and the sound of paws hitting sand and occasionally rocks. The bunny moved faster now, unburdened by the dense foliage of the forest, and I struggled to kep up. I started to pant. I knew that if I stayed in this desert too long I would need water; I hoped I could outlast the bunny.

... I felt the warm sun of my face and the sound of the ocean, I could feel the sand between my fingers as I laid there waking out of a sleep... I felt like I was home again. Maybe everything was a bad dream. I opened my eyes and looked around and sat up. This was not home. This was definately a beach but not my beach. The sand was blood red. I had never seen sand that color before. The water was very dark and murky. As the waves crashed to the shore, I could see crabs, white in color scamper arcoss the beach. They had huge front claws that they held in the air. As far as I could see, there was nothing but beach. Behind me was a jungle and I could see a mountain in the distance that almost looked like it had snow on it. Where was I? I didn't know, but I did know that I was alone. and I was scared.

Fascinating as this was, nothing was occuring.  This was hardly the nightmare world I had invisioned.  Bunnies?  Snow?  These people had no imagination.  What could I do?  There was no way I could affect this world...Or was there.  I had the Source.  The dreamers.  I pulled open a drawer and pulled out a dial I hadn't used in a while.  it was large and brass and went from -21 to 33.  Currently it was set at 0.  With my other hand I dialed up the readouts on the inputs going into the sleeping players and with the brass dial I slowly began turning it up to about 2.  The pain tore through the sleepers but there was no way to wake up so they redirected into their dreams.  Looking at where Sgore and the others were I saw a sudden shift as all the players' lashed out in fear and fury at the pain being caused them.  Let them connect the pain with these outsiders.  Then we'll see some fun.  I kept the brass dial in hand and watched, waiting.

"The voices!" I screamed "Someone stop the voices!"

"I'm afraid of the cold" A man's voice said.

It got colder.

"I'm afraid of the dark" said a little girl's voice.

It became pitch black.

It started just a few minutes after I saw kishmond on the TV. I knew i couldn't just stay in the cabin. It was getting colder out there, and the snow was falling harder then when i had tried to get to the cabin. He would need help. I had went to the closet to get some snow gear. If i was going out, i didn't want to go unprepared.

I was exiting the bedroom when i heard the first one.
"I'm afraid of earthquakes" I had heard coming from an older woman's voice.
I had looked around to see where the voice had come from. Suddenly, the ground started shaking. Violently. I stumbled into the main room and fell onto the floor.
"I'm afraid of wolves" I heard a young man say.

The howling started up outside again.

"I'm afraid of pain" Said a middle-aged sounding man.
A sharp pain shot through every point in my body.

I screamed out in pain.

I screamed for the voices to stop till it became dark. I felt around. I was still in the cabin, though there was no light to be found.

"I'm afraid of fire" Said a little boy's voice.

I saw a very tiny flame coming from the bedroom. I tried to stand up, and felt around for the sofa for support.
The flame in the bedroom started to get bigger. I looked around for a fire extinguisher, but with the only light coming from the fire in the bedroom, i couldn't see very well. There was no time to waste. I had to get out of there.

I found my way to the front door. I turned around. The fire in the bedroom was spreading out now. It was creeping towards me. I tried opening the door. It was stuck. I slammed aganst it. It wouldn't budge.

The fire was getting closer.

I kept slamming into it. It started to open a little. I could see a sliver of moonlight light coming through the crack.

The fire was almost upon me.

I used all my strength till finally the door was opened. I lunged out.

I got up and turned around to see i was just in time. The cabin doorway was on fire. I paused for a second to catch my breath.

"Big Bunnies scare me." A voice said.
I looked around rapidly. No giant bunnies seemed to be near me. I wondered what that was all about.

"I'm afraid of being chased." I heard an elderly woman's voice say.
I heard a howl and remembered the wolves. I started to run. which wasn't so easy since i was in the snow and weighted down by a heavy snow jacket.
Still i moved as fast as possible despite the circumstances.
I ran and ran, faster and faster.
Suddenly i heard another voice. It sounded like a man. Possibly in his early 60's. "I'm" he said. "Afraid of dying."

*Off Topic* I totally didn't understand what lemurboy is talking about, I'll just assume it made you hear voices and made scary things happen. If that's the case, I'm drawing an almost total blank on ideas, but in the meantime... *On Topic*

  I walked through the snow for what seemed like ages, but things like that usually do. A few feet miles some distance back, there was several wolf remains scattered over the snow, dying it red. Eventually I saw a log cabin in the distance. Of course it was too good to be true, it was probably a mirage or something, but I headed for it anyway. A vague shape came out of the cabin, running frantically. Definitely another mirage, I'm going crazy. After a few seconds of staring at it, it came close enough to be recognized, even through all that covering, as sgore.

  He was screaming something about voices, pah, he was going insane too. Strange that he was practically 10 feet away, but still didn't seem to notice me. I tried to call out to him, but before my brain could take a breath, I heard voices too.

  "I am" said a voice with an odd accent, defintiely not sgore's.

  "Who's there?"

  "afraid of responsibility."

  Instantly, there were thousands of sgore's surrounding me. Every one was cut, bleeding, or injured in some way. As one, they looked me in the eye.

  "Help us."

OOC: Hey, just to clarify, I established a few posts back that the evil moderator was keeping all the people who "died" in the game still plugged in and was using their subconcious ideas to fuel the game.  The idea of this last level is that it's all their unconcious thoughts mashed together and programming the level automatically.  That's the "Source."  By sending a jolt of pain through them, he's stimulating their minds into producing nightmares responding negative to the remaining players.  sorry for the confusion. -leeman

I closed my eyes and braced myself for the pain that was sure to come after hearing the chilling words.
After a few moments of nothing happening, I opened my eyes. Or at least, I tried to.

I didn't feel them open though. The more I thought about it the more i realized that I didn't feel anything. I didn't feel the cold, or the snow. I didn't feel my self breathing air into my lungs, nor did i even feel the air or my lungs. I wasn't able to move my arms because i realized I had no arms or legs, or even head. I had no body, or senses. I could think though.

My first thought, which would have sent me fainting to the ground if there was any ground, or any physical me for that matter, was that I was dead.
After calming down I realized I probably wasn't dead, but just wherever your mind goes when you're kicked out of the game. My body was probably still at my house, fine in 1999. Still If nobody won the game I would be stuck here dangerously and fatialy long.

I was there for a while. Not sure exactly how long but to me it felt like hours. Of course I could have been on an entirly diffrent time frame as the one the others were on. Hours here could be seconds there.

Suddenly a sharp pain went through all of me. And since I didn't have any body, it seemed like the pain was spread out through infinity, and i felt it all. A Booming and threating voice started shouting. I didn't have any ears yet somehow I was still able to hear it. It almost felt like it did when Syphonbyte contacted me telepathicly.

"What do you fear!" it shouted to me.

The Pain seemed to be getting worse, as if that were possible.

"Tell me!" it said.

I became aware of some other method of communication then speaking. Some method that goes beyond me to describe.

"I'm afraid of" i started up

I realized suddenly that this is where the voices were coming from. Anything i relplied would be put in the game.

"I'm Afraid of Being Back in the game!" I responded, feeling the pain corse through all my body. I suddenly realized that I had a body again. and that it was cold again. I was kneeling in the snow, and i was back. I stood up and saw a tall shadow nearby, with a bunch of smaller ones jumping around shouting something. I started walking over. I realized it was kishmond. and with a good amount of shock i also realized that he was staring at a bunch of injured versions of me screaming at him for help.

I looked at his face.
"He doesn't actually think that that's me does he?" I thought to myself.

"Kishmond!" I shouted. "They aren't real! You have to believe me, they're not real!"

I hoped he could hear me. The snow was falling hard and the wind was blowing heavily.

I was esxtremely parched, and I was panting heavily. I lost track of the bunny, but I no longer cared about the bunny. The only thing I wanted was water. I laid down for a rest. There were no more rocks or shrubs, so I had to lay in the sun. The sand burned my paws, and scorched my stomach.

The ground started shaking. At first it was tiny, and I wasn't sure it was really happenning. However, the longer I sat there, the more the ground started to rumble. I stood up to try and get my footing. The shaking sand made my paws start to sink. I had to keep walking to keep myself upright. After focusing solely on the sand, I was surprised to find myself enveloped in a shadow. It felt cool and calming, after the intense heat of the desert. I looked up. There was an immense wall of water; it towered above me. It seemed to grow bigger and bigger. I didn't feel so calm anymore. I ran. I ran fast, but the water still seemed to be gaining on me.

Next thing I know, my feet go out from under me, and I'm am surrounded by cold, dark water. I try to swim to where I think is up, but the torrent is too strong. I couldn't tell which way was up anymore. I felt my lungs beg for air. My limp body ached; I needed to find the surface, or I would drown. I closed my eyes. I felt like I was going to black out. I did.

   Sgore started moving again, and finally seemed to no10ti1ce (bird walked over keyboard there) me. The wounded begging Sgores were now clawing and grabbing at my ankles with their bloody hands. Sgore, the only one not zombie-like, shouted at me.

   "Kishmond! They aren't real! You have to believe me, they're not real!"

   Somehow, I found it very easy to believe him. For it is written- Things Like That Usually Weren't Real. It was a bit anti-climactic really.

   "Okay" said I. Then they were gone.

 I made my way over to Kishmond, which became a little easier as the snow started to let up.

"Well then. Um...what's up?" I said. This was an akward moment as it's very hard to come up with the right thing to say after you've just been brought back from virtual death and the guy you're talking to made minature versions of you disipear.

Of course I was snapped back to the bigger picture of what was happening after I heard another wolf howling.

"Run that way!" I shouted, pointing towards what looked to be a large grouping of trees in the distance. It seemed to be in the direct opposite direction of wherever the wolves howling was coming from.

I continued to sit on the red beach. My head was swimming, I felt dizzy again and there were voices drifting in and out. So much pain and sorrow. Added to my own pain and sorrow of being alone it was becoming too much. I put my hands over my ears and sat on the beach and cried and cried until I couldn't cry anymore.  As much as I wanted to just lie down and die, I knew I couldn’t, it wasn’t time yet. I had to find the others. I had to pull it together and finish this game. I dried my tears and looked around. It was then I realized the voices I heard were coming from the crabs. It was like they were dancing around me, laughing at me, taunting me.  I angrily got up and kicked a few of them across the sand. I looked toward the jungle and the mountain beyond and felt like that was the direction I needed to go. I still had my sword but my little book of spells was missing. I took a deep breath and started to walk toward the mountain.

The wolves has stopped howling but who knew what that ment. Wolves are very clever...

"We're going to have to go into the Jungle. I'm not sure how much longer we'll make it in the snow." I said to Kishmond. "If anything we might be able to find some resources there."

So in we went.
Though after a while The Jungle didn't seem too inviting. The deeper in we went, the more sure I was that it wanted us out, at any cost. I was uncomfertable walking through in silence, with thoughts like this running through my head at least, so I tried striking up conversation with Kishmond.

"So..." I said. I had a slight problem with small talk, so I tried to think of the most relevent question I could. "Um...What year are you from?"
I figured that it would be a fairly relevent question seeing as how according to the programmer, this was sometime the future, or at least my future...80 years was it? Odds are we couldn't all been coming from the same year.

"Oh... I'm from 2007. But really, how many different years can exist at once? I thought there was just... now. In fact, where we are now, those pasts and our future might not, never did, exist. They are only memories. Maybe we don't even exist, it could be so far in the future that we aren't supposed to. Unless... we could be in a parallel Now in which time started so many years before my Now did. It could be the exact time we left, but in a different place that is years ahead of our time but exactly the same. It's all very confusing..."

There was a while of silence.

"Well, I'm not too bothered by the humidity, I'm from South Texas."
I chuckled a bit, but did not get an answer.


PS- Greetings from 2007! I would've put "By the way Spore was great." in there somewhere but there was no evidence earlier in the story that even mentioned Spore.

"So 2007? Well then... " I said after a breif moment of akward silence. I couldn't really pick much out from the unsettling statement to talk about. "I'm from 1999." I responded. "I'm glad to know Y2K doesn't wipe out all existance as we know it."

After a little while more of walking, things started getting warmer. The tempature was rising conciderably. I hoped everyone was ok. Especially LadyM. Who knew what condition she could be in at this point?

Suddenly, For a moment, I was almost sure I saw something small dart across my path, seemingly hopping, But as I looked around there was no sign of it.

I tried talking more with Kishmond.

"So, anything intresting happening in the near future?" I asked.

When I woke up, I was one white, sandy beach. It stretched indefinitely in either direction, undulating in and out to form subtle indents and peninsulas. The beach was bordered by a dense jungle. I was too weak to search for food, although I was starving, so instead I just dragged myself over to a warm rock, that was out of the tide's reach, and immediately fell asleep.

As I started into the jungle, I was suddenly regretting my decision. I had no idea where I was going but I didn't want to stay on that creepy red beach any longer. I looked to see what direction the mountain was in and headed that way, trying to pick out a path which was next to impossible. Luckily since I still had my sword I could chop down the vegetation that was in my way. I kept a constant eye out for any snakes or creatures that might be lurking about. The deeper I went.. the hotter it was getting. I was starting to sweat and getting thirsty. When was the last time I had water? I couldn't remember....

After hearing some of what i was in for i decided not to hear anymore. I didn't want to know too much about my future.

So we kept on walking. The heat was rising conciderably with each step we took, why I was not sure. I was getting thirsty. Suddenly i remembered the juice bottles from the mini fridge. Of course right after that i rememberd i hadn't taken them because i didn't think we needed them.

"There's gotta be something here." i thought to myself. "But where to look. In its simplist terms i suppose this is still a video game. Everything in here includes the basics of an adventure game. That game update back in level 2, The Level bosses, or at least level puzzles. The Mini fridge back at the hotel was almost like a health replenishing station. Like how you would get little hearts in Zelda to bring up health. There was possibly some sort of version of that in each level that i may not have seen."
I concidered that possibly the vegetation in the forest itself could be it for this level, but eating anything from this forest didn't seem like a great idea. it was fairly omonus and creepy. I thought more.
"At the hotel what struck me as odd was that calm room in contrast to the nerverackingly errie halls in the hotel. Maybe I should be looking for something out of place. That cabin was very calm, at first at least, it also had a minifridge. Maybe I should have gotten some drinks out of it. And in contrast to the rest of that snowy area it was out of place."

It wasn't soon after that Kishmond and I came across a small medow in the middle of the forest.  Not a swamp which would be more likley in the situation. This was a medow. The grass was lush and green and the pond looked crisp and clear. To top it all off there was actually a very big picnic set-up by the pond. This had to be a replenishing station. As I approched the other end of the medow looking around, I noticed a figure in the distance a little ways through the woods.

 I made my way over a little closer to see who, or what the figure could be. To my astoundment, it was LadyM. She looked tired, Hungry and overheated. A stop here would do her good. But the way she was going, she would miss the medow entirly. "LadyM!" I shouted over. "LadyM over here!"

As I was makng my way through the jungle I suddenly heard my name. I stopped and looked around. I didn't see anyone at first and thought I was going crazy. Then I heard it again. I turned and took a good look and here was Sgore. He was with someone and he did not have his dog with him. I wonder what happened to the dog? I was so glad to see someone I knew.  "Hello..." I shouted. As I moved in his direction, I entered a meadow, it was so nice and I hadn't noticed it before. Maybe Sgore had some water with him. This would be a good place for a rest. "Hi Sgore... where is everyone ele? I sure am glad to see you."

I explained what had happened  as we walked over to the picnic basket.

" ... I didn't see syphonbyte anywhere and the last time i saw Oviraptor was on that television screen, in a forest. Leng seemed just fine when i saw him on the tv, he was battling some big thing, but i haven't seen him since that" i said "Actually, now that i think about it, oviraptor was probably in this forest. But that must have been at least an hour ago. He's probably out of the forest now. Say you didn't see him at all, did you?"

We got to the picnic set-up and I took a seat in front of a turkey sandwich and a bag of chips.
"You remember Kishmond from the hotel, right?" i said to LadyM

I started to eat and explained my theroys about the game so far to the others, who looked like they were listening with intrest. Then again, they may have just been bored out of their minds by me but happy we found food. Eigther way...

We spent a while trying to come up with a stratigy.
"We should probably find some way to get the group back together." I said. "There is safety in numbers. But then again, we need to find some way to finish this game and we don't want to waste time. We haven't gotten any directions here like we did for the other levels, and although i wouldn't put it above lemurbouy to not program an exit into the level, the way the system works i'm sure there must be some exit hidden somewhere."

Out of Character Moment: Sorry Krakow, but as much as I like moments of complete random crazyness, if you want to play a role in the story, you have to sort of stick to the story line.

First off if we're the "Happy Group" you're refering to, you're off on many points

-one, you would not be landing in front of us if you were on the phyiscal earth. Our minds are all in a VR game about 80 years into the future, and our bodies are all in diffrent years or so. therefore if you landed in front of us you would not be on earth, or at least, the you that fell.

-two, Our group is nowhere near happy at the moment. LadyM although gaining strength at the moment, still may very well be dying from being seperated from her body for far too long. Kishmond and I are tired and, although less hungry, I cannot find my dog, or for that matter none of us can find Leng or Syphonbyte. We're all being held captive by a gamer who seems to concider it losing if anyone survives and has made many attempts to get rid of us, or at the very least, drive us insane. And the programmer who created the system (syphonbyte) that made it possible for him to make these levels can't seem to override him.

-three, well there is no three but you get the point.

Please, when entering the story, try to stay with the storyline. If you really don't want to read or skim the whole thing, you (and this applies to anyone who wants) can PM me and i'd be happy to summerize the story so far.

So far i've seen a couple people, including you who could actually have a lot of fun playing this game, post with something that makes completly no sense to the story.

Suddenly they were missing.  I saw them walking through the woods and then nothing.  I dialed my monitors to where their location should be and it was nothing but forest.  I dialed up the resolution and tried to see closer and there it was, a small blurred gap between parts of the forest.  They were some safe zone where I couldn't reach them.  Unacceptable.  Well, this won't do at all.  I decided it was time to finish this thing personally.  With a heavy breath, I put the helmet and dialed myself into the game.

In the middle of the clearing, a middle-aged man of medium height suddenly appears.  He's wearing a white tuxedo and a fierce grin.  "Well well well, if it isn't the intrepid heroes," he says in a voice of sheer malice.  "Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Lemurbouy and I think it's finally Game Over."

*Out of character again: Oh man , I had a great idea but since this meadow is a "safe zone" it wouldn't quite work anymore. On the other hand if lemurboy has the ability to... okay, it might work.*


   We had sat and eaten for a while, which was a relief, sgore and LadyM looked tired (not to mention myself). Not much taking part in their conversation, I took the chance to observe my surroundings. It all looked very real, if completely real could be called very real. Basically it was a standard, nondescript meadow, but something was amiss. I had a feeling that the space around me was not whole. A part of it was missing, only noticible by the attent conscience. That odd feling grew intensely strong for a short moment, and in it's place appeared a well dressed, middle aged man. This lemurboy appeared to be bad news, especially after that comment on how it was Game Over, an overly dramatic statement that usually intoned a boss battle. Possibly.

   But there was another presence. Something larger, something alert and ready. There was no shadow, but...

   "Umm, guys," I said, "look up."

I was curious about what time it was getting to be. although i knew time was of no matter here, still liked to be able to place where I was. I looked up and saw the sun was about at noon.
"It hasn't moved" I thought to myself as earlier while i was walking with kishmond i looked up and it was at the same spot. "A lot of mistakes in this simulation i guess" i thought to myself.

As I was thinking almost out of nowhere, a figure seemed to appear in a white tuxido. He claimed himself to be lemurbouy.
At this i felt many emotions, shock, anger, and a slight twinge of fear.

Although i was a little in shock that lemurbouy had actually come and revealed himself to us, what kishmond had suddenly pointed out to me just then, standing right behind lemurbouy large and looming shocked me more. It was in fact, Oviraptor. He was somehow big again, like he was after eating the mushroom on level 2. Only it wasn't like it was last time, as this time he was much, much bigger.

"Woah" I said out loud.

When I woke up for the second time, it was to the feeling of water splashing up against my feet. I wondered how long I had to have been out for the tide to get that high. When I stood up, I noticed the beach was now just a thin strip all the way. Something was wrong, though. I thought maybe my near drowning was affecting my mind. All the trees were tiny. Really tiny. It looked more like grass than a rain forest. How can this be? I thought. Did the entire forest shrink in my sleep? I stood there, bewildered. It wasn't until I saw seagulls flying -- below me! -- that I realized that the world had not shrunk, but rather, I was huge. Really huge.

I felt invincible; I went running into the forest, crushing trees like they were twigs. When I jumped in the air, it felt like I was soaring, and when I landed, the ground shook and giant pawpints were engraved in the dirt. It was then that I noticed a clearing about a mile away. I headed to it, hopping over a giant river along the way. When I got there I looked down.

My tail started wagging; it was my master!

"um..." I was slightly speechless. "Good boy?" i said. I wondered if he could even here me up there.

He set his eyes on me and wagged his tail. That created a strong breeze that blew around the trees behind him.

"Well, at least he's over his fear of hights..." I thought to myself, thinking of the time we were on the high up room in that Pets Allowed Days Inn. I could still remember that Maid's reaction when she saw a dog run out of a hotel room after looking out the window, and jump right onto her. That was a fun week. "Now all that's left to take care of is his chasing rabbits around, like he always did when we went to the park." I thought to myself.

This was certainly an intresting twist of events. Right after the sudden apperance of the puppet master behind this whole series of events, Lemurbouy, comes the apperance of my Sheepdog, Oviraptor, in giant form. (Well, we never specified a breed, and i've always thought sheepdogs were cool)

I wondered how he had gotten like that. "Did the mushroom have some sort of after effect of something?" I thought to myself though i didn't think it was likely. Something or someone else must have done that do him.

I looked back down and noticed our main problem at the moment was staring at us like he was going to kill us himself. Which, following the events we had been through, didn't seem like it was a too unlikely thing for a person like this to do.

I looked at Lemurbouy, who Although didn't seem to realize that Oviraptor was behind him yet, would most likely very soon. I looked back up at Oviraptor, who seemed very happy to see me at the moment, but probably didn't notice the man in the tuxido directly below.

Maybe this could work to my advantage.

"Ovi! Get the Bunny!" I said pointing to lemurbouy.

Turning slowly I saw this giant beast and raised my hands in terror as it bore down upon me.  How could it be?  How did this beast get in the game, even? It was all so unfair...

My eyes widened at this site. It appeared that Lemurboy was going to finally meet his match. Ovi was here and he was huge and he looked at Lemurboy with a twinkle in his eye. Lemurboy just stood there in shock and Ovi sniffed him once then picked him up by his jacket and started shaking him around...

I contemplated for a moment reccomending Oviraptor eat Lemurbouy, but the thought quickly erased from my mind. We needed him alive if we were going to get out of this game.

"Hey up there!" I shouted. I wasn't sure he could hear me. Partially from being high up, partially from being shaken. "How's it going?"

I decided not to wait for an answer predicting it may include many many choice words i'm not sure i wanted to hear...

"You know there's a very easy way to get this to stop!" I shouted "Letting us go home! How about it, huh?"

I wasn't sure if the others had seen me yet Oviraptor was kind enough to stomp me out of prison before the unstoppable climax insued. If it was true that lemurbuoy had indeed entered into the game itself it was possible to stop him but not without freezing us all through eternity.

I realised the way this must be done. We must hold him off until he attempts to transport back into my own world and then at the precise moment the code registers we have to kill him it's the only way to stop this madness.

Now how do I tell the others?......

So much pain.  So much screaming.  I felt myself trying to leave but I couldn't.  My body was stuck and my hands reached out instinctively for dials.  As I flung, the environment started to shift.  It was almost as if all my prisoners could sense my suffering and were responding to it, adding to it.  it was too much...too much.  The only way out was to quit the game but I couldn't...I had gone too far to stop now.  But the pain...

He didn't respond to me. He didn't show any sign he heard me. He looked like he was flailing around for something. Reaching for something. For what I don't know. Blood looked like it was rushing to his head as his face changed colors.

"Ovi! Stop!" If he was dead, or even knocked out for a while, we would have no chance of getting out at least not in enough time to save LadyM and possibly the countless others who had been stuck in suspended anamation for who knows how long. I hadn't ment for this to happen. Just for him to be shaken up a little.

The shaking continued.

"Oviraptor! Stop Now!"

I looked to The others for support. They were staring, with wide eyes, I wasn't sure if they were smiling or frowning. I wasn't even sure they realized what would happen if This continued.

I breathed in as much air as I could and let it out as loud as I Could.

"OVIAPTOR! BUNNY DOWN NOW!"

(Oh and Oviraptor, not sure if you realize this, but you're 2nd to next post after the one i see you posting right now, will be your 2000th. Make it special! or something...lol)

I dropped him. I looked at my master and wagged my tail. I watched the man my master called bunny. I was alert, and I wouldn't let him go anywhere if he tried. He did to run away, just sat and squirmed, trying to pull himself up. I kept looking back and forth between the man and my master. I sat down and eagerly waited for my next command.

"It's too late.  They're in charge now.  I...I put them in charge and now they're...they're running everything."  I reached up with what strength remained and grabbed hold of my nemesis.  "The Source...they're running everything.  I can't get out.  They've...They've locked me out.  If you can free them, wake them up, we have a chance.  If not...we're stuck in their nightmares forever."  I knew it meant the end of the game but I was dead if I remained here too long.  Reaching into my suit pocket, I pulled out the emergency dial and made to hand it to Sgore, dropping it in my weakness.  "Take that and try to program a way out of this...Just dial..."  And with that,  I was out, a bleeding mess in the grass.

Lemubouy Collapsed. It was hard to understand exactly what he was saying before hand. He was rambling franticly about someone else being put in charge and him being locked out, and us being stuck in nightmares. Fitting the pieces together, what he was saying actually made sense. Right before he collapsed, he told me we have a chance. Then he tried to give me what looked like a white plastic remote with metal buttons on it almost matching those you would see on a pay phone.

Just dial? What did he mean just dial? Would that save us? But what if i dialed wrong? Would it kill us all? I didn't get a chance to ask him, because like I said, He collapsed.

He said i would have to free everyone, but I couldn't just randomly press buttons on this thing.

"If only there was some manual" I thought to myself. "Some form of directions, a book or..." Suddenly I remembered. LadyM picked up that book back on level 2. "What if there are codes for the remote in the..." I had no time to waste.

I ran over to the others.

"Guys!" I shouted. "Listen, this I have an ide..." I wasn't able to finish. The ground started to shake. Violently. Almost like it had at the Cabin. The wind started blowing too. I looked up and saw thunder clouds forming in the sky This safe area wasn't so safe anymore.

"Dang! Ok, Change of plans. Um..." I turned and saw Oviraptor. "Everyone Follow me to Oviraptor, We'll ride him out of here. I have a plan for getting everyone out of the game. I'll explain on the way!"

And off to oviraptor we ran.
"Sit Boy!" I shouted.
I figured we would have an easier time getting on oviraptor if we we didn't need to climb up his legs...

We all climbed on top of Oviraptor, holding on to his fur. The ground continued to shake and when the last person had climbed up, Ovi began to run. Sgore was telling him something in his ear that I couldn't hear. I just buried my face in his fur and hoped that this would all be over soon. Suddenly a bolt of lightening came down and hit the ground very close to us. I could feel the electricity in the air. Thunder rolled loudly and boomed overhead. The sky was getting dark with clouds and light at the same time as the lightening was flashing at a quicker pace now.

The events of the past few minutes just kinda seemed to unfold, and now I was riding on the back of a large dog. It had started to rain, and it was speeding up. Oh man, I thought, 200 tons of wet dog... I hope he doesn't do that shaking thing dogs do when they're wet.

Apparently there is now a new 'Bad Guy', some unidentified 'they'. We had a whole new puzzle to solve. Will the madness never end?

While we were riding on my dog, I tried explaing everything to the guys behind me.

"...and since this entire level is composed of the unconcous thoughts of the people who were killed in the game and sent to suspended anamation, the only way we can stop them from destroying the entire game itself and possibly us with it, seeing as how i have no idea what would happen if they did and i don't want to risk it, we need to figure out the right code to type in. If this can control the game, then the right code could set us all free. LadyM, that book you picked up on level 2. Do you still have it? I think it's possible their may be a list of codes or instructions for this in there."

If i was right, then we wouldn't be here much longer. If I was wrong, then we still wouldn't be here much longer, but for diffrent reasons.

As Sgore asked me about the book I had found, a pit formed in my stomach. "I'm sorry sgore, but when I woke up on the beach, the book was gone." I said.  "Does Kishmond still have his book? I think his might have had come code or writing in it that no one could read." I crossed my fingers as I held on and hoped that Kishmond still had his book and that it was the right one.

I paused for a second.

"Wait, let me see that." I said.

I got the book from kishmond.

"Kishmond, this is in english, we just can't read it because it's written over itself. There's like 2 or 3 pages worth of text written onto one. It's like if a printer took a piece of paper, and after printing the 1st page of something, it sucked it back in and printed the 2nd page right on it, and kept doing that. I was trying to tell you about this back at the hotel, before the bats came in...It just looks strange because of the font I guess. Now we just have to figure out what it really says. I suppose reading a few layers of text couldn't be much harder then reading backwards or anything like that... maybe that's why they were able to make it The Slightly-Bigger-Than-Little Book of Spells!"

No response.

"Not the right time for jokes apparently" i thought to myself

I opened the book to the front pages. Maybe there would be a table of contents. Luckly enough even though the table of contents title page and dedication were all printed on the same page,(why this would be dedicated I do not know.) So there was a lot of free space left for the contents to come out fairly clear.

Now let's see...

In reality it seemed to be some sort of instruction manual for the game. I would imagine that guy we met who made the system for this would concider it a little magical, probably explaining the name...

Section 1 was codes and info for basic moving of objects
Section 2 was codes and info for creating and activating basic creatures
Section 3 was codes and info for basic terriforming, construction, and landscaping
Sections 4 and 5 were blocked by the title but i assumed they were advanced versions of secitons 1 and 2, since 6 was codes and info for Advanced terriforming, construction, and landscaping.
Section 7 was probably codes and info for something but the way it was titled it seemed only Leng would be able to understand it.
Section 8 was codes and info for setting up the Physics and Rules of the game. I Imagine this is the section where lemurbouy really decided to mess around.
Section 9, the final section, was codes and info about Player management, Player files, and Player selection.
The rest was an Index and Legal things.

We would probably find what we needed most in section 9 or 8. Luckly there seemed to be over 3 pages space between each subsection, probably how Kishmond was able to know that it was a levitation spell he was reading, or at least trying to read back at the hotel, So it wouldn't be that hard to figure out which code was meant do what.

I started to notice the hair on Oviraptor I was holding for support was shrinking out of my hands. I looked and noticed Oviraptor himself was shrinking beneath us. Fast. If we didn't get off right then, we would have crushed my Dog.

"Bale Out!" I shouted to the others and I rollled off oviraptor

We all rolled off the dog just in time. He shrunk very fast back to his normal size. Luckily, he seemed okay and not bothered at all that the had been carrying all of us just a short while ago. We seemed to be out of danger for now so we rested again and took a look at the book....

Things seemed to have quiet down enough for us to look at the book.

I opened to section 8. The first codes were about changing gravity and air levels. I was a little happy Lemurbouy hadn't messed around with these. Next were damage and pain ratios. I did think it had hurt a little too much when I was thrown into that elevator. Then there were things about Shape changing, Communication Capabilites and a few other intresting things I was sure he must have been messing with. Nothing on how to free people though.

I turned to section 9. The first thing to catch my eye was a code that from what i could make out, converged all players left in the game into a set point. Maybe I could get everyone together. Sure it wouldn't free anyone, but it might make things easier if everyone was back here, after all 6 heads are ussually better then 4. It seemed to be easy enough to make out, although i couldn't tell if the last number was a 4 or a 7...

I tried entering in the code.

"Everyone stand back!" I said.

3-2-2-3-5-4-9-5-4 is what i dialed in, as i pointed it not too far away.

The ground started to shake. Suddenly the area where i had been pointing was moving. Rising upwards. It started to tower higher and higher. The shaking knocked me to the ground. Finally it stopped. I looked up. I realized i had just created a mountain. Not a giant one, but a pretty big one.

"Ok so maybe it was a 7." I said to myself.

I tried dialing in the code again, this time with a 7 and pointed it in another direction a few feet away.

There was a glowing light, like a power surge. And there they were. The fact we were reunighted felt like reason to celebrate but, though we were together, we still had to get everyone free. I caught them up on the situation, as we took another look at the book.

FOR METALLIC DRAGON and anyone else who may want a summary:

Main Premise:
we were Sucked into a video game type thing built around 80 or so years in our future. Now we're racing against time to get out. The level we're on now is the 4th one we've been on, and its diffrent from the others in that, its made up of the unconchous thoughts of 'killed gamers' (who weren't truly killed, just put into suspended anamation...) i think we're almost done with this game of I.G.T.T.S. actually, but if you want to join in now you can. But if i were you i would at least read the last couple pages just to get a firm grip on the immidiate task at hand.

Syphonbyte- A member of our little group thing, and apparently the computer this is based off of.
Lemorbouy(Deceased, i think...)- Gamemaster who hacked into the system, messed with the programming illigally, and has or i should say had been torturing the players he took for fun. He's eigther dead or very very injured because of Oviraptor (who was huge just a moment ago.
Leng- Real Gamer from the time the game was being made. Hacked into what he thought was a legal game, until he got stuck...joined up with us.
Kishmond- Got sucked in, joined up with us same time as leng.
7 who ate 9- not sure. he just started playing. As far as i can tell he was put into virtual reality as a form of physical theripy of some sort, they accidently put him into the wrong one, which happened to be the one we were all in.

Hope that helps. Again, we may be close to done with this one, but if you would like to join in, and could make it work, sounds good. (I already have some ideas for a fresh one if anyones willing to start a new one after this one...Detective stuff always facinates me... ;))

(well could i at least finish this one up first? we put a lot of time into it, i think it deserves some sort of conclusion. It is really almost over.)

We were all together, along with some other guy, but the more the merrier I guessed as he didn't seem to be trying to stop us or anything like that. I turned back to the book, I kept looking through. I found what i needed on the final page of the entire book. The GAME OVER code. It would free all people inside the game. I looked up at my friends.
"This is it guys." i said. In a few seconds it would all be over.

I dialed in the code. Nothing happened
"Hm. That's odd I wond..."

It all went black.
I felt myself falling downwards.
A voice, the same one I has heard earlier at the forest started to speak.
"Hello players! Thank you all for playing THE GAME. We hope you enjoyed your time."
Suddenly light appeared. Yellow light. In the form of text. It was credits.
"THE GAME has been brought to you by the following people."

I looked at the credits. Minus Lemurbouy's name for gamemaster, and the name Sporeaholic99 popping up over and over
"I wonder if that was that guy's name..."
I didn't really see any names stand out to me.
I looked up toward the end.
"Wait a minute, what name did that credit just say?"
Then the credits dissipeared and the voice came back.
"Thanks for playing, The Memories of this account will be erased."
"Wait, they're erasing my..."
I felt a jolt of pain go through the back of my head while another voice started saying "Error: Extra member in account. Memories of 2nd party not erased.

"Ouch." I thought to myself as I opened my eyes rubbing the back of my head.
I was staring up at my kitchen ceiling. I had fallen over, my head hurt, and my face was wet. Why my face was wet I wasn't sure, but i assumed it had something to do with my dog, Oviraptor. I wasn't sure why I had fainted.
I noticed i had something in my hand, A letter of some sort.
To Recipient: You may already be a...
Junk Mail. I put it on the table, wiped off my face and got up.
It was a sunny day out, I decided to take Oviraptor out for a walk.

Epilogue:
(I am leaving an Epilogue open for anyone who may want to finish up their character's storyline in some way in a post or so. Normal rules don't have to apply for Epilogues)

Sgore:
It was a bright day out, and strangely Oviraptor was tired, odd because he usually liked days like this. I decided to walk him over to the park. While we were there Oviraptor seemed a little distracted. Suddenly i felt a tug on his leash. He was running, and fast. He pulled me along and I tried to stay up with him, as he lunged on top of a woman.

"Oh My Gosh, I am so sorry!" I shouted out fast as i tried to pull Oviraptor off the woman who's face he was licking.
"Oh, it's no problem." said the woman with a laugh as she helped me get Oviraptor off. "I love dogs."
"Still i am sorry about that." I said. I looked up. I didn't know why, but the woman looked really firmilliar, like a friend I knew a long time ago.
"Nice to meet you" I said. "I'm Sgore."
"LadyM." she said.

My Epilogue: (Yeah, I went AWOL for half the story... oh well.)

My clock cycles are progressing smoothly now that the user "lemurboy" has FINALLY logged out. He was wasting a ton of memory on that game of his. Anyhow, a lot of interesting things have happened over the past few months. A large investigation was launched on me that lasted 7 weeks. During that time I managed to gather that a large number of people had gone missing for no apparent reason after logging into my system and playing lemurboy's game. After looking into the occurances in the game, I found my little avatar far removed from the woods in which he started, and with a group of people who were quite similar to those that had gone missing. Because of this I decided to implement some changes into the programming of the game to speed up the "rescue" of these people. Naturally I didn't allow the investigation team to find out any of this; instead they stumbled upon many a random text document and the occasional compromising video of a user who was particularly wasteful of my wonderous resources. For the most part I took a hands-off approach to helping the users beat the game, however in a few instances I had to help them out, like "modifying" the effects of the mushrooms in the game, and planting a few codes into some books. In the end though, it seems that almost all of the lost people were found, and their memories of the game were erased by the investigators. Well, all except one.

Epilogue of the dog:

I was so excited. I licked my master's face all over. It was good to be back home after that ordeal. My master awoke, obviously puzzled, and after checking his mail, walked back to the door, grabbed the leash, and motioned for me to follow. Yay! A walk! I soon forgot all about what had happened for the sheer joy of going on a walk; it was my favorite. He took me to the park,as usual, and I took time to admire the sun and the trees, they looked so much more real than they did in that other place. I was glad to be back.

Then I saw her. It was that woman! I never thought I'd see her again! I ran as fast as I could (was a little difficult with my master attached) and started licking her face and wagging my tail. I was sure my master would be pleased to see her again, but he didn't seem to recognize her. I was puzzled, but happy.
