Title: Where's Gaming Steve?
Post by: Deep Lee on November 20, 2006, 12:43:00 am
Is it just me, or is anyone else disappointed that Gaming Steve hasn't posted anything new in over a month? Especially with the PS3 and Wii releases... Where's the coverage? He's only done 2 podcasts in the last 4 months. I know this website is only part of what he does, and I'm just wondering what has he been up to? Anyone know? Has he been around the forum at all lately? Just curious...

We miss you, man!
Am I Right?

Oh I got that off yellow book; itís freely available online anyway. I don't see why it matters if I repost it.

But since it's down in the rules (didn't see that). I'll let it pass.... this time  ;D

Well, Will Wright's email address is available online, but we don't post it all over the place out of courtesy to him; it's the same principle. It's not that by reposting it you're revealing something new, but that you're making it easier for people to find and use.

Just you wait until Vista is close to launch - there will be wall to wall articles and podcasts.  Sony is the opposition remember, and Steve is most definitely a Microsoft fan boy.

Oh come on, That's not true, and I'm getting annoyed with people saying it.
If Steve starts making unreasonable points about any of the companies for or against, then you can call him a fanboy. Just because he says things that are positive or negetive against a company doesn't make him a fanboy. Tell me when he doesn't make a good point in his discussion, when he says something, some opinion, without any regard to the actual situation and information, in which doesn't back it up with reason of any sort. Then you can call him a fanboy.

and:

There's been a sighting!† Epileptic Gaming visited Electronic Arts for their community summit (sometime in the last few days), and mentioned Steve:

[19:54] <T-BirD> wait...did he say gamingsteve was there at the same time as EG?
[19:54] <ONAIR|djWHEAT> yeah actually
[19:54] <ONAIR|djWHEAT> i met him
[19:54] <ONAIR|djWHEAT> and we talked about each others shows :)

Guess that confirms that he's pretty busy...and maybe generating new content for the show!

He is doing things. Yay.  ;)

The number of posts this month don't even reach 10,000 and it's almost the end of the month. Steve should try to find a way to fix the forums a bit...

Don't worry he is around. The last email said he was very busy but he would be here when he can. He's also working on some forum updates behind the scenes. He was on today for a short bit.

The only thing that keeps the Gaming Steve website alive, is the forums. A little update would be nice about Steve's current situation (It probably has to do with real life that hammers in, you know, job, kids, wife. Not in that perticular order)

I've been here ... just very very very very very busy. And not the "good" busy, just busy busy.

But I will finally be moving next week to a larger place with a private office so I'll finally have somewhere to hopefully record my show in peace and quiet. Basically I started the show when I was living in a 2 bedroom apartment in NYC and my first kid was born. Then it wasn't a problem recording the show as I could always "go into the other room". But once my second child was born ... that was the beginning of the end. There is no "other room" in a two bedroom and recording the show requires a few hours of quiet and a place to record it. The few times I did manage to record it I was doing in the bathroom(!) and even then it was pretty dicey as for timing/kids yelling in the background.

Then add in the insanely crazy amount of work I've had in the past few months and it was the perfect storm of nowhere to record the show/too much work to properly run the site.

But now I'm finally (finally) moving to much larger house around 20 minutes outside of Manhattan with a private office and multiple floors. So I imagine that I'll get a chance to record the show at night when the kiddies are asleep. And also now perhaps I'll get the chance to play a few more console games with the extra room. But I'm here and watching over the site, even if I'm not always active I'm here...

Sooooo, has Steve moved yet ? Or is he still resting after attending E3 ? (At least I think he got invited).

Would be nice if he started doing regular podcasts again after E3.

The fans are patient.

Just wondering about this myself. A month and some change past the release of the reason the site opened in the first place and the front page is chirping with crickets. I guess Steve was so distraught with how unwhelming spore turned out that he never wants to come back and gave up on games all together. Just kidding, but checking the site week after week is getting boring and pointless. Come back Steve!

What about all the other people who were going to update?  If only one of them would just post a funny picture on the front or something so we can see something new.  :-[

Steve is the one who posts their updates. If Steve is gone the writers can write to their heart's content but it won't get posted.
