Thanks for posting one last podcast before E3 - wouldn't want all the new E3 stuff to be overwhelmed with the pre-e3 news.

PS: We love videos ^^  Please don't feel the need to stay up toooo late with post production, sloppy podcasts would definetely be preferable if it means you get sleep between e3 days.

I am downloading right now but I just have to say one thing: rockstar has announced GTA PSP a while ago now and that it would be set in liberty city.

Very good podcast.

I love Tim Shafer's games
I have played DOTT about 3-5 time through
the last time I played without break for 6-8 hours
http://www.scummvm.org is an emulator for the game engine used by DOTT and Full Throttle etc....
it supports many many platforms (even dreamcast ) and has some very good filters that make the game look a lot better.

My favourite game of all time by Shafer is Grim Fandango. The story, music, characters, and art have not be matched in any game i have played since.
Glottis is the best character ever

Great podcast, I never played DOTT (lol, I was 6 in 1993) but the game sounds cool. I like the part about E3

One problem I had with it though is when you apologized for saying booth babe. Seriously, what in the hell is the deal with being politically correct, especially over something as trivial as that? If someone were to take offense over that, they deserve to be shot.

Political correctness is bull****.

Being polite and having regard for another person's feelings is not bull****.

Being polite and having regard for another person's feelings is not bullsh*t.

That is absolutely ****ing ridiculous. If someone was offended by the term 'booth babe', then they're simply being sensitive pansies that have nothing better to do but bitch about trivial matters.

I doubt ANYONE was offended by it. But it was very nice of steve to have consideration.

Great all around, Steve! My school used to have events to go to E3, but the expo's security has toughened up so much we didn't make the list this year. It's a bummer, I almost want to go to E3 because of the possibility of bumping into people who frequent these forums more than to see any big announcements. Though, admittedly, the idea of pouring Las Vegas onto my face is intriguing. ;)

HAHAHAHA.. I was listening to the retro review. The wife could hear part of it but not all, suddenly she came around the corner and asked, "Why is Woody Allen talking about making a time-travel movie with killer tenticles?" ROTFLAMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't listened to it yet, downloading it now, but I did see Day of the Tenticle on the retro reviews. Good to see that other ppl played this.

I ended up buying a whole packet of games along long time before the new age of games for me (my gaming carrer in divided into 3 categories Genesis-Back when Sega Genesis was new , Old going-Mid-End of sega, and now the New Age started back when I got Age of Empire 2)

But anyways in the Old going period I bought this Lucius Arts package with Day of the Tenticle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis in it and played all 3 so many times. DotT had extremely good humor and was constaltly funny.
Wish I still had all 3 of the games, but got rid of em back when I got my Windows 98 in 1999 or 2000.

Every night I wish a squal to DotT would come out, but it never probably will, even though DotT was a sequal.

Anyways If anyone remembers last year when Lucius Arts were like "O yeah we're making Sam and Max 3D and it'll be released in May" and then in April they scrapped the whole project, which really pissed people off. That pretty much ended Point and Click Adventures genre.

Point and Click genre u get my salute.

Sweet, loved the review (I really need to pick up Psychonauts!) and the Retro Review. Made me pick up DotT again...only to find out that it doesn't work on this computer. So I did a little Google search and found a brilliant little program called ScummVM that let's you play all those old LucasArts adventure games on new systems! I just clicked on the game and POW--I'm back to nostalgic save-the-world-from-evil-tentacles. "After all, what harm could one insane mutant tentacle do?"

Anyway, I'd say I'm also the explorer type, in terms to games. I absolutely love platformers. Say, Steve, did you read that study about different types of gamers on the net? Do you have a link for it?

Oh yeah, I also read that ScummVM allows you to play those old LA adventure games on the Palm OS! Didn't Steve mention that that would be nice, on his Podcast? Anyway, check it out here: http://www.scummvm.org/downloads.php

Yeah, here is the article. It's pretty well known in the gaming industry. Basically all players (he was writing about multi-player games, but it works with most games) are either Achievers, Socializers, Explorers, or Killers. It's a very interesting article...

Wholy crap, this is great! I thought there was a web site with all this stuff on it, but I couldn't remember 100%. I gotta get these games and play them again...

Nice podcast Steve, i liked that....MMG you made a quicktake on (forgot the name :-\).....It was also intersting to hear more about Spore, i'm really worried about that release date though.....just thinking about the fact that Spore might come out next Christmas is annoying (and Maxis is known with doing these delay stuff)...

Well...See you after E3 :D
