Hey Steve. You mentioned in the podcast how youre considering a Mac to dual boot XP and OSX. I was thinking that if you do it then maybe you should regularly report in with your PC adventures on a Mac. Its amazing to see how many PC owners have secretly been eyeing the mac but couldn't pull the trigger for one reason or another (games!).  Boot camp really is going to be the thing that gets people to make the jump so since you're opinion is much more respected than the average mac zealot or PC nut then hearing of your experiences may help alot of us who are considering the switch.

Personally, I've been dying to go back to mac but couldn't justify it until now. But I'm going to wait on my mac laptop purchase until i see the official specs of the MacBook (the iBook successor) and see if it can handle games.

Can't see what all the fuss is about. If I don't like that kind of games, then why would I have to buy them? But then again, I might not be a true gamer anyway. :P I didn't get Half-life 2 until a few weeks ago...

Damn, that makes me feel like I'm the only person who doesn't have oblivion, isn't interested in oblivion and doesn't personally know a single person who is playing oblivion...

Also, I feel slightly insulted by the "not a real gamer" comment... =P

Uh, I don't have Oblivion.

But it has been ordered and ought to arrive any day now   ;D

Besides, lots of folks don't do PC gaming and can't afford an XBox360, so let's not forget those guys.

That was only a joke. But do at least try it if you aren't interested in buying it. It's one of those classic games that people will talk about for years to come.

Lol...we know. My computer won't really run the game as well as I'd like, so when I get a 360, Im going to get Oblivion then. Not to mention achievments!  :P

I've never been into RPG's before, but wow, this one looks fantasic.

I don't play Oblivion... but that is because I don't think my computer can run it very well.

Edit: And I am not the biggest RPG fan.

Oblivion isn't an MMO, its completely single player.

No worries Steve, that was said as a tongue-in-cheek comment really. =)

What I really don't understand is how you can take the MMO out of an MMORPG and still keep it interesting. I've been having some problems adapting to these modern RPGs like KOTOR and such. I don't really like to bash games before I play them though, so I guess Oblivion's another game being added to the list for after I graduate and join the pool of newly unemployeds. =P

I plan to play Oblivion in 10 years time on an XP emulator.

Hey, I only completed FF1 today for the first time. ;D

You could say Oblivion is next-next-next gen Diablo :-P, It's very different from KOTOR. It's basically a huge world where you do everything in your own time. All the combat is in real time (you're in conrtol, so no pausing, no turn based action), and you play in First Person with an optional 3rd person mode. Trust me it is interesting, I find that there's so much stuff to do it's overwhelming! I honestly don't know where to start.

Not directed at you, I think no-one can say they totally dont like RPG's because there are so many different types, if you compare Oblivion to Final Fantasy to Kotor to World of Warcraft, you could almost say they're totally differnt genres.

I wish the Xbox Live Manager would have discussed larger Arcade releases like the upcoming Street Fighter II release.

Steve, with Revolution getting the old NES, Sega, NEC games -- does Arcade stand a chance of getting some of these too?

I know Arcade won't get old NES games, but is there a chance we could see Sonic, Streets of Rage, etc... on Live Arcade?

I don't think that Live Arcade and Revolutions Virtual Console will need to compete at all. I can easily see the two services getting plenty of titles, and plenty of the same ones. Nintendo has stated that its Virtual Console will also support new games, not just old NES, SNES, ect. games.

What I really want to know it whether Nintendo will have all of the greatest games from the older platforms avaliable on day one, or if they take a similar approach to what Microsoft is doing, and slowly release titles over the weeks and months.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that Oblivion is slowly taking over my life.  It just gets better the longer you play and level up with the introduction of new weapons, armour and enemies.  It's just a great great game.  I'm hitting 60 hours and I've not even been to Kvatch yet...

anyway,

What I was wondering is do people actually complain that the podcasts are too long?  I can't believe that.

Keep up the good work Steve, looking forward to the next episode.
