Gameplay footage of a new Ubisoft game called "From Dust." (Formerly Project Dust) (http://kotaku.com/5616141/from-dust-is-for-those-of-you-who-like-playing-god) It looks like a newer version of Black & White. Some of you may remember this trailer, shown at E3 this year -

Boo hoo we can't control nature by waggling our hands boo hoo.
WE DID JUST FINE
-
...if those water physics are realtime, and not just part of linear pre-scripted things...
Then OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH.
-
I know, right? This seems like one of those games that could totally distract me for a few weeks.
-
Dude.... I miss B&W2 now....
-
This is more what B&W2 should have been. Not some half ass Mayor sim.
-
I hope this doesn't end up like B&W.
-
Hay the first game was pretty good in my book. Even if it did not live up to the hype. (And the hype was on a class that makes spore hype seems pretty mild i would say.)
-
Well, i've only played black and white 1, but back then, I really enjoyed it for what it was. I think it was just the scale of the zones and the feeling of freedom it gave you. Plus throwing rocks was too amusing.
-
The first game was good until you got to that level where the take your creature away and the difficult curve goes all brick wall.
The second game... oooohhh... don't get me started on that steaming load.
-
:(
I enjoyed it, only to try to find ways to subvert the rules and do things I shouldn't. Namely, teach myself the art of long distance fireball throwing.
Seriously, I was like a howitzer, lobbing fireballs through mountain passes from my base to bomb remote enemy cities.
-
Whatever Pat, B&W2 was pretty dam fun for me lol.
-

Hey! Me too!
*Frustrating five!*
-
Hurm, apparently this is a console game, not a PC game. Soooorry.
Could a mod please move the thread?
-
and suddenly the whole forum lost interest
-
It sucks so hard they're recently bringing more console-exclusive games and leave PC games out in the cold due to pirates.
-
This game looks like it should be for PC. Man, I can't control a cursor with a joystick.
-
;_;

The level in which they lob fireballs at your village and you can't do anything about it?
Yeah I hated that.
-
Well, there is still hope for a pc version. ;)

If they do then i will most likely buy it. (Depending on things like if i can run it and most of all how Draconian Ubi will be with there damn copy protection.)
-
i was hoping it would be on consoles. my computer can't properly handle oblivion on great settings, it would crap itself if i put this game on it.
it seems like it's not so much a game as it is a toy. i imagine that it's kind of like what we wanted to see in Spore when you come down to a planet; you change the topography of the land and see how it affects the population on it. I don't care that it's on console (though i'd prefer it on PC, if my PC could handle that), i'm excited to maybe get what was my most anticipated not-included feature of Spore (albeit a speculated feature).
-
A big write up. It will be for PC, and it will be a downloadable game on the 360 and PS3. (http://kotaku.com/5617588/god-plays-ball-in-from-dust)
-
YESSSSS.
-
/me does a happy dance
I DO WANT NAO PLS.
-
I wish it was for PC. :(
It reminds me a lot of the original Populous.
-
I wish it was for PC. :(
It will be. :P
Read m'posts!
-
Put this back in the PC games section to prevent re-confusion.
-
That re confusion just happened to me. So in order
Damn its console
Yay its pc
Whys it still in console
Anyway, as Hydro says this reminds me a lot of the original Populous. This looks like what Black n White should have been and what i hoped they would be. Black and white was kinda Medieval Sim City, with the novelty creature (which gets taken away too much ;( )
-
Yay! I just saw a new video for it before checking this thread on how it will be for PC too! :D I am happy now!

So, I got this game for the pc because I thought I met the minimum requirements, however apparently I don't. The minimum needs 256mb vram, I have 256mb. The minimum cpu is 2.33GHz dualcore, I have 2.8Ghz dual.
Ubisoft u make me so mad.
-
What about system RAM?
-
2gb needed with vista, 4gb in computer.
I'm all ??? here.
-
It's probably your video card, then.
You've only got the bare minimum, which oftentimes just doesn't work.
-
entertaining, and beautifully. I like just experimenting and seeing the world change shape over time.
also, console is considered better than pc. apparently the controls are actualy much smoother for console.
-
Which makes no sense at all.
-
Yeah, this is a bad port for the PC, it's way better on console.
