Title: How To Train Your Dragon
Post by: Gauphastus on April 15, 2010, 09:33:13 pm
I'm in the movies section, I've heard people discuss this movie, and I've seen at least one drawing based on it (http://gec05.deviantart.com/art/Night-Fury-and-626-158675349)..
And yet no topic in here? What's that all about?

Seriously, I checked like five times to make sure I wasn't just retarded and totally not seeing the thread.

Et cetera.

I just saw this one and thought it was just delightful. Ripping good fun.
I remember reading somewhere, maybe one of you guys said it even, "This is the stuff that establishes Dreamworks as not being just 'Pixar Lite'." I'm in agreement.

Not gonna go on much more just yet. How did the rest of you guys feel? If you haven't seen it and you're interested, go for it. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Huh I'm surprised, I thought it would e one of those set up kind of movies. Based on a book too, man.

Absolutely fantastic movie. I think Dreamworks can say they finally have two movies (next to Kung Fu Panda) that aren't objects of Pixar's ridicule.

One of the reasons I watched it was that the main dragon "Toothless" was designed by the same guy that made Lilo and Stitch. He even co-directed too.

Anyone pick up the left sock joke they made in this movie? It was in slight reference to the left shoe joke in Lilo and Stitch.

Well I'd like to see this but I can't find a theater showing a non-dubbed version :/

You might consider waiting for the American DVD release and import it.

If you liked Kung Fu Panda, getting this on DVD will be worth it too.

EDIT: Granted if you have a NTSC-compatible DVD player.

Just sawr this again on DVD. Man, I love this thing.
I heard they were gonna make more. Dreamworks apparently has a whole ton of projects planned.

That's pretty neat.

But six chapters of Kung Fu Panda? And four for Madagascar? That's a lot of sequels. They better not suck.

It's like finding out about the Walking With Dinosaurs show all over again.

Here's the holiday episode. About 20 minutes, pretty simple thing.
Kinda cool though.
EDIT: Taken down. TOO SLOW.
