Title: General 3D Art
Post by: DarkDragon on December 07, 2009, 03:27:53 am
Post your 3D art here, am I the only Gamingstever who does 3D Modelling?

Just started learning 3ds Max 2010, started with Blender but I needed more. Some renders:

Then went for a more realistic instead of plastic toy feeling:

Some older stuff I did while learning 3ds max:

Didn't make the model for this one but rendered it to test the clay render style I used in all of them (which I made)

I fail to see a difference between the two.
That's because it's the exact same picture, check the URL ;)

But yeah, nice work!
Didn't we have a Google SketchUp thread somewhere? Maybe this should be merged with that one.

Oops, posted the wrong link, gonna fix it now. Also, I think the sketchup thread should be merged with this one since it's all 3d and all :P

pretty cool stuff! Let me know if you ever figure out how to animate stuff; I have the same program, but still haven't figured out how to use it. I'm too used to Wings 3D, so the buttons and sliders everywhere are very intimidating. : (

Well, I did a couple of things with zbrush some time ago. I don't know, I'm planning to try out something else, because there were some annoying problems with the meshes. I also never bothered to figure out how to properly render anything.

I've also made some real life sculptures. I wonder if I should start a new thread for those?

I may not have a fancy 3D program, but I can sure as heck make do with Sketchup!

I made the big one. The little one's a Super Star Destroyer from Star Wars, like the Executor. I've been working on this ship for something like 3 or 4 years, from paper and pencil to MSPaint to Sketchup, it's been a long way, and I sure am happy with the results! But I wish I could export this to something like Empire At War so I could crush those puny rebels 8D

If only I had a spare 500$, if only...

Anyone worked with Blend? It a free 3D modeling program. I have seen people make some pretty awesome stuff in it.
