Title: "Law and Order" Vs. CSI
Post by: sgore on October 09, 2005, 08:18:05 pm
Both have multiple incarnations, and have created a name for themselves, but which would you choose.

Personally I'm a Law and Order Fan. Very well written and balanced show (all of them, or at least of the ones i've seen. I haven't gotten a chance to check out CI yet) taking place in the same city allows many cross over episodes, and no matter what the bittersweet ending of almost every episode always seems to leave you unsettled in such a way that you have to watch another one.

Neither. I really don't care for either one.

they tend to posture a lot more in CSI, so yeah, Law and Order.

I love CSI, my wife loves Law and Order. I watch all the CSIs but the first is the best one. I like what they have done to "redo" the New York version as last year it really blew. I'm just waiting until they have a CSI for every single city in America...

Well if anyone just saw the L&O that was just on, I was afraid that they were actually going to kill off Samuel Waterson's Character (Jack McCoy) in that episode. they didn't. I'm glad, because he's my favorite on the orignal Law and Order (though Detective Munch (Richard Belzier) is my favorite of all three) Waterson has been on much longer then anyone on right now.
(though he wasn't On when the show started. No one on the show now was around as a Reoccuring character on the first season, although S. Epatha Merkerson guest starred in an episode in 1991 apparently. Playing a diffrent character of course. There seems to be a trend of stuff like that on the show...)

Anyway, he wasn't killed off, so yay!

I can never really get into Law & Order. CSI however always pulls me in and makes me stay in the chair and watch it all the way through. I love Grisum(how the heck do you pronounce his name?) and the gimp doctor, those guys are the best.

CSI just gets too corny after a while... Just don't feel the intensity it use to have on my. Law and Order is more thought provoking, which I enjoy. And all that foreignsics crap from CSI is getting old...

Having just watched over 4 hours of Law and Order with my Mom, including a 3-parter, I have to say I'm very Law and Order happy right now.  I've never been really drawn in by CSI but I certainly don't dislike it.  I just like Law and Order more. -leeman

I like CSI: Miami and CSI: New York more then I like the original. So I choose CSI.

How can you like CSI:Miami at all. Its the dregs of television, the acting is pitiful (especially the blonde one and Horatio, i really want to be Gil Grissom, Kane) and the stories are totally implausable (more so than regular CSI). CSI miami Sucks!

I don't like some of the characters either. But overall I find Miami to be more enjoyable. A lot has to do with Horatio Caine (David Caruso) , defiantly one of the main reasons I like that show.

huh. we're at a 50/50 tie right now 6 votes to 6.

And just one more thing i gotta say about law and order i like, they aren't afraid to go after very big political issues, sometimes even before they've yet become issues, and yet they always still seem to provide equal arguments for both sides. Iraq, Gay Rights, The death penalty, The Patriot Act...etc...
Its almost like they want people to talk about these things. get a conversation going about important topics for debate
