Title: Should I buy the PSP even though I already have the NDS?

Is the $250 for the system alone worth it since I already have a new generation portable?

It really depends upon what type of games you like. If you like games of the PS2 variety then the PSP might be good for you (you will be seeing a lot of "similar" PS2 games on the PSP in the next few years). But if you like Nintendo-type games -- Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Mario Party, etc -- then you can stick with the DS.

The other thing main reason to get a PSP is for movies, music, and TV playback (with a memory card). The screen on the PSP is amazing and I will personally be using it for this reason mostly.

Wait for now, give it a try and see if you like the games. It's a big investment at this point with the system costing $250 and the games costing around $40 each(!) Wait and see, a lot of my friends are doing that.
