Title: Communicant Invasion: the OOC thread
Post by: Tavenknaughtlin on September 07, 2007, 06:33:09 pm
K, made this thread so we could post ideas and plan for the big incoming invasion here, instead of the RP Suggestion thread.

So, if you'd like to be part of the invasion, as either a defender or an ally, just post which races you'd like to contribute, particular planets they have (such as capitals or some other important places or settings), and a general overview of their combat abilities. You could go into as much detail as you want.

All are welcome, new or old members. This thread will shift to the O.O.C. thread once we get the RP thread up and going.

And any old-hats at War RPing that feel the need to correct me on something that I royally mess up on, please feel free to do so  ;D.

So here we go, the main aggressors:

The Communicants
Owned Worlds Involved: All Applicable
Strengths: Numbers, Melee Combat, Heavy Powered Armor, Disjuncting
Weaknesses: Low Space, Air, or Mechanized support, relatively low ranged support, inclination to capture than to kill.
Main Characters: The Walking God, Fouronesix, and Fourtitoo

(Note, if you want to be a supporter to another force instead of yourself actively fighting, that's fine too).

here's a list of the combatants so far, thanks to the work of Brandonazz:

wooo I'm in...against the communicants...

that's about it  :)

Torpals
Strengths: weapons/technology, training, physique, morale
Weaknesses: bad at negotiations/overly militaristic, rely on strength over numbers

Lol, glad to have you aboard Opera  ;D.

I also forgot to say that you could include any particular character you would want in the RP thread, so we would know who your talking about.

(side note, it kinda sounds like the Communcants and Torpals are the Persian Empire and Spartans, respectively  :D )

I'm in as well.

Talans

Strengths: Strong Fleet, Home Planet Isolated, Good at Diplomacy
Weaknesses: Small Planetary Forces, Prone to Espionage

(side note, it kinda sounds like the Communcants and Torpals are the Persian Empire and Spartans, respectively  :D )

And that would make me... pre-Alexandrian Macedonia?

I think the Sherdias will stand by the Communicants. Just so they don't get owned. They have pretty much no military, but a medium sized population. They also have no space travel. The Sherdias would allow the Communicants to use their home planet(their only planet) as a deploying center and as a base of operations in return for heavy military weapons and a small space fleet, as well as immunity from invasion and Communicant governmental control.

Agreeable or not?

The SHERDIAS

Strengths: Good Surface to Orbit weapons. Able to flee into shelter to avoid devestation. Good at diplomacy.
Weakness: No space fleet. Only small policing force as defense.

And for their Gaming Steve debut...

The Noasaurs
Owned Worlds: A small chunk of formerly Thean space. Also have quite a few worlds outside it. (Thean space is not on the most recent galactic map, but go back a few updates and you'll see it)
Strengths: Realy, realy, realy enjoy combat, Numbers, Experience in War, Huge Guns ;), Stealth Tactics.
Weakness: Few combat-oriented space vehicles (Have transports, though), Tend to keep technology intact, Have a hard time changing allies.

Well, in this current attitude, they would probably accept the agreement, but only half-heartedly. After the invasion, if they succede, that would mean their allies would be next. They couldn't offer any kind of spacefleet, as their entire spacefleet consists of five carriers and swarms of little fighters that have no ability to survive without the carriers.

What they could provide though, is a suit of kickass armor and a lifetime of servitude  :D.

And for their Gaming Steve debut...

Huge guns and stealth tactics!? Oh my :o

I can just see the 'Suprise! BOOM HEADSHOT!!!' coming  :D

They're the Talan counterbalance. Our strengths and weaknesses compensate for eachother.

So you basically want my race to become meatbags? Is that what you meant by armour?

I'm not sure if I find that quite so agreeable....

Elbeasts

Owned Worlds:Home Planet of Jwalania and its two moons, the Flatulen System containing 50 gas giants all of which have at least 3 dozen moons.
Strengths:Don't care about things like the Geneva convention, don't care about how sadistically weapons kill things, they just look for effectiveness, great interrogators
Weaknesses:Not trustworthy, often enslaves races that made alliances with them on a whim and then eat them, act on aggressiveness rather than intelligence, cares about stomach before promises.

Post by: Kcronos on September 07, 2007, 06:59:09 pm
The K'jalians

Strengths:  Advanced robotics, spheres that can control gravity, and a religious fervor that even the communicants couldn't match.
Weaknesses:  There are less than a hundred left, and they are very illogical.

Not a huge worry, though. Most stealth ops preferr swords. Much quieter....

Miali

Position: Undecided.

Owned Worlds: New Yuva, a massive artificial sphere that can move at will, and contains an incredibly thick shield. Entire populance is on New Yuva.

Strengths: Heavily-Lethal Anti-Grav Weaponry (see thread for explanation of exactly how lethal it can be), Experience in war from 4 WWs, Mobility, Quite intelligent and cunning.

Weaknesses: Few in number (only about 2.4 Billion in all), Small ground army (As such, they prefer to aim their Massive AG Cannons at the surface and open the gates of hell), Small space fleet, but very lethal in any case.

Main Characters: 1st General Zula Mec (Son of Zokaa Mec, Mec family is a big political family)

Haven't gotten any info up on their creature page quite yet, but I think the folicans should be involved in something for once.  :P

The Folicans

Position: Most of them would defend against the The Communicant invasion thingy.

Owned Worlds: All they have is their small, intensely radioactive, nearly destroyed, desert planet they call; The Dustball.

Strengths: They're so unorganized, it could be hard to catch(or exterminate...) them all. Radiation typically doesn't bother the majority of them all that much. Extremely resourceful scavengers... Also, they can be very sneaky. Oh, and they lack any sort of 'red tape' issues. *EDIT* And crazy-feral ANGER.

Weaknesses: Inferior technology; stuck on and around their planet, practically. They aren't a 'united' species, and so the separate factions, armies, and gangs squabble with each other constantly. Plus, they're small and weak... Oh, and insanity can be an annoying problem.

Oh, and Notable Folicans:(...I'll edit some in, once I've actually made them xP))

Oh heck yes, let's get this started.

The Fredonian Alliance

Main Warrior races: Factimilitii, Vish
Not main warrior races: Gockets, Vepilks, Cyleeks, Nautalids, Fredonians, and others

Owned worlds: Homeworlds of all races and several colony planets, location unknown.
Strengths: Unknown.  Only military vehicle encountered was a carrier with a fleet of a few hundred small fighters.
Weaknesses:Unknown

Anyone is welcome who has a creature they'd want to join up. But be sure to have most of your technology and capabilities ready before-hand, so there's no 'Surprise' armaments. An example would be the communcants having a massive fleet no one knew about (which they don't). That would be an example of a Deux Ex Machina situation that cheapens the dramatic tension and feeling of the potential for loss.

Oh yeah!  It's begun!  Huzza!

The Kratair

Position: Whichever one they think would be most benificial at the time.
Home: A number of giant fleets
Strengths: Extreamly massive space force, hydrogen control, unorthidox and unpredictable attack strategy, scare tactics
Weaknesses: Mediocre land forces, loyal only to themselves (if the other side seems to have a really good chance of winning, they will usually try to side with them)
Main Characters: Marnix Domingo, Kavu Renvar
Title: Re: Communicant Invasion: Planning thread (Ha Ha!, double entendre)
Post by: Tavenknaughtlin on September 07, 2007, 09:01:21 pm
Hmm, looks like the Communicants have a great deal of pain heading for them  :o.

All the better, it makes it that much more dramatic  :D.

Just remember everyone, this isn't a planet or a system of Communicants, it's a galaxy. It's not going to be easy on either side. Think Stalingrad times a million.

RAWR!

The Kratok
Worlds: Uros, the clockwork planet of doom. =D
Strengths: Devious and uncaring, very well trained warriors, various mutant slave monsters, some high tech weapons
Weaknesses: Low population, low fleet numbers, low number of inventions, and no backup planets

Hay guys, whats yer alligiance? Since everyone seems to have forgotten.

I was wondering if it was alright to enter two races. If so:

Iinknii
Side: Communicants (they took out an entire galaxy before and hope to do so again with this one)
Homeworlds: Several large City Ship Fleets
Strengths: Massive fleet, experts and space dogfights, unmatched supremacy at using 'warp'
Weaknesses: No standing ground forces, bad at diplomacy
Main Characters: Grand Admiral Duhy (various other mini characters will show up)

Forthi
Side: Anti-Communicants
Homeworlds: Shonto (and the rest of the New Forthi Delegation province)
Strengths: well trained military, high technology levels, good at diplomacy
Weaknesses: horrible economy (still recovering from last war), overall small military, seperatist state of mind
Main Characters: Imperialite Huyon (the latest one), High Commander Suu

I haven't RP'd with the Has'ri in a while. I guess they've been hiding, behind the scenes. But what the hell.

The Has'ri

Position: About 40 or so Terran-class (we need a planet-class system) planets. Many more Mercurian-class planets, with little to no strategic importants, other than resourses.
Strengths: Large fleet, fast ships.
Weaknesses: Most things experimental, loses intrest in what's going on very quickly (an entire battle stopped simply because a comet flew past).
Side: They probably will side with the Communicants, due to old friendships through the AoH, but that could change depending if they feel that the Communicants have done wrong.

The Omic

Side: Anti-Communicants, but could be bargained with...
Homeworld: New Omix
Strengths: Unimaginable technology that heavily relies on the use of folding machinery into another dimension.
Weaknesses: They're goddamn rodents.
Man Characters: General Hoor Nyorkik

Main Characters: General Kinla-Ko, Sgt Masia-shi (for general RPing)

Strengths: Amazingly well trained and Elite, Good at landing and boarding.
Weaknesses: Low Numbers, Only vehicles are walkers, medicore Artillery
Main Characters: Mista Karba (Rebel Leader)

Nice! I'm joining.

The Barroc Confederacy
Strengths: Massive numbers, bullet-deflecting armour, very powerful nuclear technology and genetics, balanced army, can recover most losses easily.
Weaknesses: Primitive weapons, overeager troops, only 2 kinds of ships, have very few vehicles other then chariots and they are technologically inferior to pretty much everyone, rarely use machines
Side: Communicants (If its allowed).
Planets: Kuluch Narch, plus a few extra colonies.
Characters: High Engo Yu'ro, Hunter Ruyht.

James T Kirk was the captain of the Starship Enterprise in Star Trek: The Original Series. He was known, for, always, speaking, as, if, his, lines, had, commas, between, each, word.

Quasits
Position: Pending
Strengths: Superior Technology, War Deckvron, Large Fleets
Weaknesses: Small, Thinly Spread, Few Allies
Side: Anti-Communicants
Home World: Space Fleet (Original 1's Sun Blew Up)

It's not fair that so many races spend ages before they can claim to have good tech, and newbies can just say it.

The Mon-Krai are allowed because they're Penguins.

The Omic took longer than other races becuase they're freaking rodents.

Lol.

The Omic have good tech because once upon a time their entire solar system was flipped to some other plane where time was all weirded up, and they got a massive head start.

Then the wexxians retrieved them.

Well if the Communicants attack another member, they are banned from the alliance, and all members must support the attacked member with at least 5 cruisers.

Apparently they attacked the K'jal.

If you check the AoH Congress thread you'll see that this RP is already developing.

Elbeasts are out, because before the game started, they noticed an interesting looking race on the other side of their galaxy.  The race was on average very fat, so they moved to that side of the galaxy.  The race looked weird... they had two eyes, and their head was on their NECK.  They had two arms and two legs, and arrogantly called themselves "Humans", whatever that means.
Anyway, they are busy capturing that race and cannot participate.

It's because, unless you're a veteran member and we know you can manage, your first appearance of your creature can't be in such a major RP. You need to start in introductory RPs and work up.

That's quite a lot of people. This should be interesting to say the least  :D. Now, i'm going to write up a little intro into a new thread for the actual invasion, giving a little backstory and then the actual invasion itself.

Now for simplicity, it would be best for each combatant to describe how they are fighting back on their own planet, unless of course you are protecting another person's creature. And for the Communicant allies, you could either choose a defender to attack, or help the Communicants in their attacks against the targets the Walking God is after (I.E. everyone).

(now i got to re-read all of the entraints' races and see if the Communicants are really screwed  :o, lol. )

Also, the Miali are mostly immune to having their planet attacked. Seeing as how the whole damn thing moves around. They'll just assist when they can. Maybe bring a little orbit-to-surface carnage to the Communicant armies.

I'm currently the most evil sided race in our rp system. Tauven is at 50 because most of his race is currently ruled by his main characters evil twin. Everyone else is just like some chaotic neutral faction.

Why can't I blame you for being lazy enough to look up all the current players and not their side, concerning they did put it in their first posts along with there race anyways?

No, WG is much stronger, he was just fooled by his counterpart onto a planet where it as difficult to disjunct. Unfortunately, when the WG returned, the wise Communicant either moved quickly or died.

Wait, Evil twin? Zerone is actually a good guy, and was at one time The Walking God's pupil, which is how he learned the same disjunction. Brandonazz got it right, at this time, Zerone's Doramas Communicants have been fought back with the return of the Walking God, and Zerone has gone back into hiding. So basically, the only communicant forces left are the Walking God's.

And how is ripping off people's jaws and forcing them to serve you until you grind them up for meat not evil?

Very few people on the east coast are going to be up that early on a Sunday.

We need to remember people that we aren't all on the same schedule, so it doesn't happen that the war begins one day, and the next time someone returns, a fleet is in orbit above their planet.

I can get on at about 2:30PM (GMT -5:00) Eastern Time every day, and be on till about 10:30PM.

So how does the organization of the communicants work?  How can the two robots impersonate them?

Unless the robots have the Disjunction in their Fanatic masks the allow for complete mental control, then not easily. Just don't go near any of the higher-up Priests, Templars, or Holy Guards, they do a Disjunction check for all who pass them.

And sorry for the bad timing guys, I still don't have my old computer after it got busted. I'm on a friend's comp, which i can only go on when he's not using it, so it's kinda a hectic schedule, lol. I'm trying to keep it a very low-paced with the communicants, and really i kinda think of them like a Zombie Horde or a natural disater; Something that the defender can come up with ideas to survive against. If you want some info on how they attack people, there's their combat techniques in my Communicant page (which i really need to edit to make it all on the first page).

RPing each attack on each planet that the communicants are on is a bit tough, but i'll give it my best  ;D.

Also, I have plans on haveing Zerone be a part of the war, and to differentiate between him and the Walking God, i'll have the posts about Zerone be in a Blue font, just so no one gets confused.

OH please, the mon-krai couldn't get there to join up with the current Communicant forces. It's only been like 30 minutes of fighting. Not to mention their 50 space-borne Imperial class ships would've torn your fleet apart before it ever got close to New Yuva. Also, the whole thing has a massive shield, so it's basicly immune to unwanted bombardment.

Title: Re: Communicant Invasion: the OOC thread
Post by: Snake on September 10, 2007, 02:03:00 pm
In any case, the only reason the communicants could get in was because they had portal technology. The massive guns of the Mialin space defense would've seriously torn apart your attack division in nearly any case. In the event they got close enough to fire, most of the damage would be absorbed by the natural massive shield around New Yuva resulting from the incredibly massive core grav orb.

Sorry guys, couldn't get tothe comp yesterday  :-\.

I wrote a little bit in the time that i have today.

And Snake, that shied that the Carrier has on it, i should tell you is an M-0 shield, meaning Multiplication-by-Zero. Anything that hits it is basically multiplied by zero, eliminating it from reality (i should also note that most Communicant technology is based on mathematics ;D ). it can stop anything, but it uses the same amount of energy to stop a cruiser or say, a small rock (hint hint  ;)).

I'd like to join in, under condition that the Merturii Yunimius (not the old unified kingdom, but the new Republic that split) is supported by the anti-Communicant forces. The Kingdom under the Nihiili aristocracy will support the Communicants.

yeah you did, but the land-battles are mostly done with the communcant troops. The Disjunctors could open another portal for your forces though, if you'd like. The only problem is the Carrier can't cover up any more troops, so you'd be at the mercy of the oribital guns.

I wouldn't be surprised if they fended off that attack as well. They're heavily dug-in since they knew the Communicants were coming. Were the Walking God able to get Fanatic Masks on a Miali, he'd probably jump at the chance what with their total destruction of his assault group. They might not be the strongest species, but they're definitely one of the more cunning ones.

Reasons to not attack New Yuva,
A. It has an incredibly thick and massive shield,
B. The orbital ships, despite being a 1/5th their former strength, would likely tear apart any attackers.

Kuatak tried to hide his impacience. The Talan delegation was making their way to the evacuation ships when the Haseri ambassador stopped him in the corridor.

Sigh.

For the last time people, the Miali decimated the Communicants, not the other way around. Stop thinking they're not good enough to stop their attack, and make them not attack again.

Indeed, it was only because of the insurgent Miali forces that the Communicants even had a chance to be on the surface of New Yuva without being completely annihilated.

ACtually, I've had quite a few near-ESP events in my life. It's weird. Like I saw the candle avatars and thought, "Who died? The Queen of England? Sounds like an English name." The only problem is, I have the general idea right, but the specifics are wrong.

Well, if the Barroc are attacking at the same time as the Communicants, then they could team up and attack the Sherdians as one force. Although the Barroc did send their attack a loooong time after the communicants sent their invasion.

Actually, i already sent an attack force at Sherdia (mispelled Shertia, woops  :-\ ). It's on page 6 of the Invasion topic. Roughly a million Communicant regulars are coming out of the portal a minute, with a few Templars intermingled with the horde.

just thinking despite that the walking god is far more powerfull and quite a bit more bloodthirsty, he isn't so thoughtfull or clear thinking sometimes.
Quote
The Walking God sprang up, his sadness now masked with the thought of revenge. "Where? Where is that beast?"

"We cannot tell his exact location, that data has corroded past the ability to evaluate. But we do know that he has used his disjunction to reach the Other galaxy. The one with our allies! This is great news indeed!", the Disjunctor said in excitement.

In the blink of an eye, the Disjunctor laid on the ground, each bone broken and blood cascading out of gaping lacerations along his body. The Walking God's arms glowed with mathematical sigils sprouting as if they were brilliant red living veins. The geometric markings slowly floated off and disintegrated, the telltale signs of a Disjunction being used.

"Great news!?!", the Walking God's voice reached new heights of madness. "My empire is crumbling, I've had to fight to regain my own home, and you think that is great news!?!" The mound of flesh and metal that was the Disjunctor didn't respond, as he was now a mound of flesh and metal.

mindless violence? emotional rage? looks like you need the evil overlord list:

Lol, well he isn't an Overlord. He is a God. Their Deity. He believes they are literally born to serve him, and he can kill whoever he pleases, for what ever reason. When your race reproduces sixty offspring from one mating, you can go a little nuts on them. Not too mention he has lived for 3 million years. he has to do something for all that boredom (not too mention, he's a bit unbalanced. I thought this was known by now, lol).

Depends on what side you on I suppose. It wouldn't be god-modding to have a valiant last-stand, like the Spartans at Thermopylae.

I don't think I have been god-modding so far (considering I have character who believes he is a god, lol). But if i have been, be sure to tell me  ;D.

But anyways, the attacks are happening in the RP's galaxy, so you can join in on those of course.

And I don't plan to do anything god-like with the Walking God (in fact, the communicants have been taking quite a beating so far, lol).

Nah,  :D you've got a fortress with thousands of snipers, turrets and machine guns against a race that fights only with swords and a race which is as advanced as late medieval Europe and who have never heard of ''siege weapons'' before. You do the math.

Unless I unleash a Cherufe, Taven pulls one of his tricks or if the Sherdians run out of ammo, you're pretty much safe. :)

The reason they actually got advanced technology is because they were suddenly colonized by an advanced furry race simply referred to as the Furcoats. The Furcoat colony got cut off from their homeplanet, probably due to a war and this opened an oppertunity for Barroc revolution, they reformed their army and copied the Furcoat fleet and completely owned then.

And they colonized lots of useless planets just to spread out the population needed to maintain their massive population.

They expand to grow their population and grow their population to expand.

I can already imagine Fredonian and Barroc cavalry charging towards eachother. But yeah, if you want to join the Sherdian battle you'd better hurry up. The Sherdians are holding their last stand, the Barroc are hauling ass, the Kraitair want to blow everything up and I doubt the Walking God would like to see a recently conquered planet destroyed again.

EDIT: Also anyone's free to PM me, if you feel like you need to.

The Folicans are pretty divided right now, yeah?
Maybe some Folican factions could ally with the Communicants and others could ally with the Anti-Communicants.

And maybe the Mon-Krai could do something as well.

Hey guys, I'm back!  ;D

And the best I can hope for is no one pick up the pitchforks and run my ass out of town. Looong, boring story about my dissappearance that I'd rather not get into if I can help it. And I know that most of you are done with this RP, hell I would be if i had to wait on someone this long  :-\ But if anyone is still interested, I'm going to try and bring it back on it's feet and running.

Valid question.  Considering that the city was your biggest, and we rescued a signficant number of citizens, you should be ok.  Now it remains to be seen what will hapen to the rest of the planet.  You ok with it getting blow up or shall I just eradicate a more concrete area?  How many other people would be on there?  Also, I cna't see how habitable it'll be anyway after the battle, what with the Barroc's nuke-happy attitude.

Blow it to pieces. I'm fine with that. Now, how to get another place to live? No money, tens of thousands of refugees on ships that I don't even own....

I do have the two Beyon sectors, but one of them is a cesspool of crime, and they both would explode under this weight....

Hey, can my creatures join the fray?

Name: Terran-Ixian

Worlds(in RP Galaxy): a forward base inside the galactic center

Strengths: Ability to reprogram surroundings (much like disjunction), sense organs superb in sight smell hearing touching tasting and other unique senses including radiation and gravitational/magnetic anomaly detection, very intelligent, resistant to radiation, spontaneous recovery from damage, capable of phasing out, can change in size, can shoot lasers out of their three sensory organs located at the palm of their hands, Teleportation a.k.a. HyperLink(distance dependent on the amount of effort put into it), very very very very very advanced technology(on par, if not beyond Naucean tech)

Weaknesses: very few units currently deployed in the galaxy, very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very easily distracted(they do have a remedy for this).

Main Characters: Moriadne(benevolent, philosopher-king like leader, out of galaxy), Kurinatsu(corps commander stationed at the galactic center), Starship-Athanatsu AI

Units involved: Kurinatsu, 27th Neutralization Division, Starship-Athanatsu(giant ship carrier/weapons platform the size of http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fe/Sun_and_VY_Canis_Majoris.svg, which is protected by an extremely powerful anti-gravity field, according to analysis the only known creature in this galaxy that is capable of breaking this barrier is The Walking God himself)

Note: By teleportation, I am not GModding. They "teleport" by calculating the coordinates of every single particle in their body, calculating their destination, and then plotting the path every single particle will take in order to reach said destination. After that, they apply their complex knowledge of chaos theory(a theory in physics) in order to achieve "teleportation" using very little energy, on their part.

I know it's a bit late but I just wanted to ask, thank you. :)

Pretty much how my Disjunctors get around. Heck, nearly everyone in the RP universe has some way to teleport, only difference is that our races can do it on a personal level. Just a question though; is every TI capable of doing it?

Most of the enemy force was heavily damaged. Now its more of a lesser battle pushing the remnants back towards the disjunction portal; I don't forsee any more coming through because of the invasion of Torpal space.

Now that the Union has sorted out most of their business, I was wondering if I could join the RP as the Union Army? And if so, could anyone please summarise what has happened so far?

-The Communicants launched a massive invasion to find a traitor called Zerone who has vital information about teh Walking God and the Communicant Empire.
- They destroyed pretty much all Miali, are strangeling the Talans and are currently fighting on Sherdia.
-The main Communicant-allied are: Communicants (duh), Mon-Krai, Barroc, Kratok (haven't done much) and Iinknii (But Josasa appears to have forgotten the thread.)
- The main anti-Communicants: Kraitair, Fredonian, Noasaurs, Miali (destroyed I think) and Tal'po. There are more but they aren't as active as these ones.
zrone has taken refuge with the Torpals, and the Communicants are about to invade them. Think 300 (the movie) times a 1000.
-The main battleground is Sherdia at this point: A small, small-garrisoned planet which has been invaded by the Barroc because it seemed a piece of cake. Slowly more people started to fight on it and right now pretty much everyone is fighting over it. It turned from a massive city in a desert into a nuclear wasteland thanks to multiple Barroc and Kraitair bombings.

And it would be nice if the Union is going to join the Communicants. Two of our RPers aren't RPing much at all and Communicants are about to fight teh Ultilmate Battle with teh Torpals.

Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post.

Bah!

Lets see. A Communicant that the Walking God fears has escaped and taken refuge on the Torpal homeworld. The Communicants sent an ambassador to the AoH and demanded that they come to their aid. Most didn't, but a couple did. A lot of Omics became Omicants and Sherdia, is pretty much a pile of smoldering ash. The Miala are pretty much gone too. The Kratair are constantly fighting battles in space against the walking god's allies, and a detatchment of Communicant forces invaded Na'po, but that's just about over because the main forces was destroyed by orbital bombardment and no more forces will come. Why? The Walking God is about to invade Torpal space, and will himself lead the invasion of the homeworld.

Be a neutral then. Neutrals are factions in this RP that can be pursuaded to join one side or can be randomly attacked by both sides.

And I have a feeling that the main action is going to get less hot after the Communicants lose/win from the Torpals.

The entire Barroc fleet of 150 ships instantly activated their nuclear drive, within hours they were near Cardotyrannus IV.

''Everyone activate cloak.'' Ruyht said.

All of the Barroc ships became invisible within seconds.

''Now spread out and deploy units.''

All the ships darted towards the planets which were under attack by the Communicants. Ruyht and his convoy landed  on Cardotyrannus IV. The transports landed and deployed their units as fast as they could before they went up back into space again.

I'm prettyyyyyyyy sure I mentioned this, but since Cardotyrannus is the torpalian capital, it's one of the (if not THE) most heavily defended systems in the galaxy...gigantic minefields, warship patrols, orbital defense stations, the works...since the communicants are attacking, like, a hundred other torpalian planets in other systems, could your troops be landing on one of them? or could they at least get to the planet from communicant portals? because getting onto the planet, even getting into the cardotyrannus system itself, would NOT be that easy...  :-\

(and don't get me wrong, I really wanna fight the barroc...I just want it to make sense...)

Crap in a toilet. The Barroc don't have any sort of teleportation so I think I'll just have to edit the part of them invading Cardotyrannus IV out. Do you have a name for another Torpal planet that is more reasonable to invade?

Good idea, but I have no idea how they teleport. And didn't Taven say that all Communicants were in this fight? So... who would the Barroc have to ask permission to use their teleporters?

well, they just walk through these portals...I suppose you could just go to one of the staging planets (as troops would still be charging through) and see what happens from there...or just, you know, ask taven  :P

I want to tell you guys, just in case: ;)

The Terran-Ixians are fine with slaves, as in paid workers: taxi drivers, plumbers, office workers, scientists, chefs, waiters, etc.

BUT, they are very against forced slavery: forced soldiers, forced scientists, unpaid housekeepers, abused construction workers, etc.

Technically those aren't slaves.  They are paid workers however, but those don't fall under the slave category.  The second list are slaves.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys:

"Long long ago in ancient times, paid workers were classified as "bondslaves". Basically, they are humans that let them selves serve under someone for a price. It was due to the ruthlessness of some civilizations that led to the term slave becoming synonymous to the revoking of one's freedom and tremendous physical abuse and all others of inhumane treatment."

Those were feudal serfs. They got paid and had homes but were not allowed to leave the Manor and were in many aspects slaves. Still, I see what you mean.

I hope Taven comes back cause I can't continue with the Sol Revolt before this war is done. I'm planning to turn it into a big-ass Israel's War for Independence-ish war and it's going to be hard for the Barroc to fight both the revolt and the war on the same time. And the battle on Cardotyrannus can go any way.

No, It can't.  The Torpals will win.  Not only are Operaghost and the Torpals one of, if not the, biggest and oldest powerhouses still active in our little universe, Opera still has a trump card in those Elementals, or whatever he called them.
Title: Re: Communicant Invasion: the OOC thread

If we have to end it without Taven, then it'll probably be something like communicants get thrashed by the torpals, Zerone goes off against the walking god, both die, communicants go away, peace forever.

Anywho, until then, Dr. Croccer, can we continue what was going on with Captain Eren and your prision and stuff?

If we wrap this up without Taven, I don't think we should kill off the Walking God and Zerone, since he may have plans for them later.  I would say that they both dissapear in the fight, disjuncted to parts unknown.

Title: Re: Communicant Invasion: the OOC thread

We could say that the G dude and Zerone face off just to disappear because of a disjunction.

A large number of Communicants on Cardotyrannus IV are rounded up and sent to Galactic prisons by the 27th, because they don't kill, while all the other Communicants are killed while battling the Torpals or escape to reorganize/regroup.

The Galactic community starts a research project to try and safely remove the faith masks of the detained Communicants to end their suffering.

Taven really needs to get back. This RP might get an unresolved ending if he doesn't. :-\

I agree that we need to just end this.  I think I've said before that my idea for an end is that... the good Communicant, I don't even remember his name at this point, faces the walking god, and the two of them and all the communicants dissapear in a cloud of bad mathematics, as far as we know returning to their home galaxy.  As for how we should present this, I don't know.  Everything had been focused on Operaghost's planet, maybe he should make the final post.  If not, maybe either do it as a news report, or one of the races hanging back in orbit can finally break through only to be told that the Communicants vanished.

Finishing something that's been gnawing the back of my mind for the past few years.

I just asked Opera via Deviant if he wants to do the finale we planned several years ago, because the Torpals are the ones that were dealing with the WG and the planet-bound Communicants. It only seems fitting.

I'm currently waiting for his reply within the next couple of days.

Wow, talk about a change in opinion.   :-\

Would you guys feel the same if Taven logged in and did the finishing post? Because seriously, I just posted in the IC thread so that Opera has a recent base to start with.

At least this way, the Communciant Invasion's status as an unfinished work that tragically died in a whimper would at least be partially remedied, not to mention subtracting one from this sections horribly long list of unfinished works.

In any case, it's not as much an act of necromancy as it is a proper burial, if you think of it as exhuming something's remains from an impromptu grave and transferring it to its own dignified tomb.

Seriously, just wait for Opera's response since I'm not really the one who gets to say what happens in this RP anyway.

I'm just following Taven's last will regarding the RP.
Title: Re: Communicant Invasion: the OOC thread
Post by: Inkling on December 09, 2010, 05:55:26 pm
Taven didn't leave a will, he went AWOL.  You should've waited for opera before you posted.

Taven didn't leave a will, he went AWOL.

Did you not read his OOC post regarding the procedures to follow if he was not able to continue the story?

You should've waited for opera before you posted.

The two of us have pretty much agreed about this for the past two years now.

And even if he does opt out, I could simply just remove the post. No harm done, simple as that.

The way I posted it, there wouldn't be a need for any other person post other than Opera's in order to finish the RP. If he posts a single post on the IC now, it will basically be the closer.

And I already know that most people here don't like to resurrect this despite there being a good reason to do so [a resolution to a good RP era].

Seriously, leaving a major war and a major turning point in the entire section's history on eternal hiatus is just so iffy.

And I don't see any other Pre-RG RPer that is still, RP-wise, active in this area anymore, anyways, except for Jack, but then again, the Wexxians were neutral to the conflict.

You can say there was Plank recently, but now he's lurking.

You guys make it seem like I'm trying to ruin this board even though I'm just tying up some horrendously loose ends.

And no, theMist's efforts doesn't count since he wasn't even marginally related to the RP in any way whatsoever.

Wait... what? This is obviously before my time.

Yes it is.  Why are you even here?  This was back in 2007.

The thing is Yuu, it's not about ending the RP, it's about ending it right.  I would rather see it left where it was then having some cobbled together ending.  To end it properly would require the involvement of all parties who took part, or at least the major ones.  Epilouges and whatnot.  I stand by what I believed back then.  The Terran-Ixians only appeared in the last few days of the RP and I don't feel that they should be the big heroes.

The votes are in Yuu.  The Communicant War stays where it is.

I remember this! ;D

Wow, kind of a shame we never finished it. Oh, well.

Point taken.

Though, I do have to say that the Terran-Ixians aren't the big heroes.  :P

But I know that you guys wouldn't consider it even how many times I clarify it, so...

Ah, to hell with it, I removed my post, there, argument over.

Now everyone can go back to their lives outside this section.

Ps. I hope you don't hold this as a grudge against me, unlike some people out there who I know inevitably will...   :P
